Chapter 112: The Perfect Scholar (7) (2/5)

"You have to be responsible for your own life, what you say and do." Ye Huaitang said with trembling eyelashes, "I can help you temporarily, but I can't help you all the time. You have to be mentally prepared."

"Understood." Lin Su walked up the stairs and said, "Come on, let's go study."

"How about taking a day off today and adjusting your condition?" Ye Huaitang was a little worried about his mental state.

"Squad leader, who said that today's work should be done today?" Lin Su looked back at him and raised his eyebrows.

Ye Huaitang: "..."

"Don't go easy on me just because of this kind of thing, otherwise if you get kicked out of the house and end up on the streets, it will be your fault." Lin Su said with a smile.

He doesn't look like he's been affected by it. If he doesn't really care, then he's just used to it.

Ye Huaitang sighed and said, "Well, since you asked for it, don't blame me for being rude."

If you really want to teach someone with no basic knowledge, you certainly cannot give him a whole page of formulas to memorize. He won’t even understand them, let alone use them.

If you really want to teach and want to achieve results quickly, you must of course start with example questions. Ye Huaitang was explaining the questions to him seriously this time, so Lin Su naturally became more serious in his attitude.

You can be a poor student for a while, but not forever. If you can't even get into university, it would be a disaster.

"These formulas are basically used in questions of this type. You must memorize them." Ye Huaitang said patiently, "I'll find you another one of the same type. Solve it and show it to me."

"Okay." Lin Su agreed readily.

Ye Huaitang flipped through the exercise book carefully and felt that teaching tonight was somewhat enjoyable. This person had a very poor foundation, but a very smart brain. He could usually understand it after being taught only once. It was just that he had never studied well before, so he always ranked last in the exams.

"For English, you can buy a random word book and memorize it according to that. Memorize a little bit every day, and slowly the knowledge will snowball and you will understand more and more." Ye Huaitang said.

"What else?" Lin Su asked.

"What you are going to learn now is the basics. Do you still have the high school textbooks?" Ye Huaitang asked as he circled the questions.

Lin Su smiled awkwardly and said, "They should all be contributed to the aunt who collects waste."

Ye Huaitang glanced at him. He would always keep all the books he had read in good order, no matter when. Even the picture albums from kindergarten were carefully kept on the bookshelf, and he would take them out to dry in the sun every year. What a nice guy.

Can two people with completely different styles really be friends for a long time?

"Then you have to buy this too." Ye Huaitang had no intention of contributing his textbooks.

"Looks like I need to buy a lot." Lin Su looked at the question in front of him and said, "How about this, you come with me to buy some this weekend, and I'll treat you to a meal."

"Do you still have money?" Ye Huaitang glanced at him and said.

"I still have enough money to treat you to a meal." Lin Su invited, "Do you want to go?"

Ye Huaitang was somewhat tempted, but ultimately refused: "I have something to do this weekend. I'll make a list for you and you can go buy it yourself."

"Something happened on the weekend? Could it be that our top student secretly went to cram school for tutoring on the weekend?" Lin Su asked with a smile.

"Yes, I take tutoring lessons secretly to avoid letting someone else get the top spot in the grade." Ye Huaitang said unhappily.

We do have classes on weekends, but they are not for remedial lessons. Instead, we learn knowledge outside of textbooks, such as table manners, walking and sitting postures, and various musical instruments.

"Being a top student is really hard." Lin Su clasped his fists and said, "I can't compare."

Ye Huaitang smiled: "Don't you think I'm good at studying because of my talent?"

Lin Su laughed and said, "No matter how talented a person is, if he doesn't work hard, he can only be ranked last."

Ye Huaitang is very smart, but his intelligence should not lead to ignoring his hard work. The higher he stands, the greater the pressure, because there are countless people behind him who want to pull him down and replace him.

The smile on Ye Huaitang's lips faded slightly, and he turned his eyes away. Because of this understanding, he felt as if all the efforts he had made silently were affirmed.

"Are you talking about yourself?" Ye Huaitang said with a smile.

"That's right. Have you heard the saying, 'Teach your disciple bad things and the master will starve to death'? When I learn it, I will probably compete with you for the first place." Lin Su said as he reviewed the questions.

"If your disciple is truly better than me, the master, I should be proud." Ye Huaitang said, "Well, do your homework well. It's impossible in the short term."

Lin Su lowered his head to do the questions. This time he only made some minor mistakes in the steps, which he wrote down in the correction notebook after being corrected by Ye Huaitang.

Time passed slowly. When the clock struck half past ten, Ye Huaitang heard a vibration in his pocket. He paused for a moment before taking out an extremely small cell phone. He stood up and answered the phone: "Hello, Uncle Zheng...Okay, I'll be right out."

He hung up the phone, quietly packed up his pencil case and schoolbag, and said, "That's all for today. I'm leaving now."

That formal smile appeared on his face again, and the ease he felt tonight seemed to have returned to the starting point in an instant.

Lin Su stood up and said to him, "Are you really leaving?"

Ye Huaitang said: "Yes, there is a driver to pick you up, don't worry."

"Are you coming back?" Lin Su asked again.

Ye Huaitang was puzzled: "Well... of course we can see each other again at school."

"Will we still be friends after you come back?" Lin Su opened the door and leaned there. His tone and demeanor were very much like a man who was sending his wife out late at night.

Ye Huaitang was amused by his own association: "We will still be friends after I come back. Goodbye."

He left in a hurry, the smile on his lips flattening as he got on the elevator.

Sometimes he envied others who stayed out all night with their classmates, but he knew he couldn't.

When Ye Huaitang got in the car outside the community, the driver looked at him and sighed, "Master, you just sent a text message saying you won't go back, and your wife is so worried."

"I'm just tutoring my classmates. Next time, you can just ask me where I am without locating my phone." Ye Huaitang said with a smile.

"Madam, I'm worried about you," said the driver.

Ye Huaitang said with a gentle smile on his face: "I know, I'm sorry this time, there won't be a next time."

The car left the gate of the community. Lin Su watched the rear of the car disappear from the window, then lowered the curtains.

When parents love their children, they will plan for them in the long run, but love that is too heavy can also break a person's backbone.

Human life is so short, but there are so many things to do. We are tied down by countless things, and there are very few days to truly live for ourselves.
