"Why do you have such an idea? Who told you that I would not want you?" Lin Su frowned slightly.
The Elf King quickly shared his concerns and feelings with him: "If I grow up and no longer need the little house, will it be given to other elves? Will Lin also have to take care of other elves?"
"What I give you is yours exclusively. You have the final say on how to use it. I won't give it to anyone else. Besides, I don't have that much patience to take care of other elves." Lin Su touched his head and said, "You are enough for me."
"Oh!" The Elf King's expression became joyful, "I am enough for you!"
"Yeah." Lin Su said with a smile.
"Lin, Lin..." The Elf King spun around happily, then continued with sparkling eyes, "When I grow up, can we still live together? In the same house?"
He was obviously looking forward to it, but if he went into details about this matter, it was obviously not suitable for such a small teaching. Lin Su hesitated for a moment: "Of course, if we are good friends, we can live together."
"Oh!" The Elf King's face was full of joy. "That's great. We have the best relationship."
"So do you want to grow up now?" Lin Su asked.
The Elf King shook his head: "I don't want to..."
Lin Su: "...is there any reason why you don't want to grow up?"
"There's no difference now when you grow up." The Elf King gave another reason that Lin Su couldn't explain to him.
He couldn't talk about love to this little kid because he didn't understand.
"Forget it, don't worry." Lin Su touched his head and said.
He just occasionally wanted him to grow up quickly, but he would rather he just be a normal kid without having to rush.
"Lin, I want to see humans." The Elf King continued the previous topic. He has always had an excellent memory for things that interest him.
"Then I'll take you to see it." Lin Su held him in his palm. "But the elves won't allow you to leave the Elf Forest before you grow up. So your departure must be a secret between the two of us elves, and you can't tell any other creatures."
"Should we go out quietly?" The Elf King showed an expression that he felt great about doing bad things.
"Close your eyes." Lin Su held him tightly, and the moment the Elf King closed his eyes, he had already moved outside the Elf Forest.
The moment he stepped out of the barrier, the Elf King opened his eyes and looked at the dark forest in front of him that seemed to be able to swallow up the elves. He subconsciously hugged Lin Su's fingers tightly: "Lin..."
Lin Su handed him a lighting stone and asked him to hold it in his arms. He said, "Don't be afraid. It's just that the tree is too tall and blocks the light of the stars."
Lin Su flew directly above the forest. The moonlight and starlight met, and floating clouds could be seen. From their perspective, they could see the barrier of the Elf Forest, but even if the owl flew over there, it just continued to fly over as if nothing had happened. It was not blocked at all and did not penetrate it.
The moonlight was bright, and the Elf King's fear faded away. He looked at Lin Su and said, "Lin, go and see the humans."
"When you arrive at the human territory, remember not to get close to other humans. Once they find out we are elves, we won't be able to stay there any longer." Lin Su said.
"Okay." The Elf King was willing to stay away from his mother tree in order to get out, so there was nothing else he was unwilling to do.
Lin Su spread his wings behind him and rushed directly to the edge of the forest. His speed was so fast that the Elf King curled up in his hands, and he did not notice that the wings behind Lin Su were not flapping at all.
It was not until the strong wind stopped that the Elf King emerged from Lin Su's palm. They landed on the hillside of a town. The elves had excellent eyesight and could clearly see the lights on in the town, the neatly arranged houses, and the humans moving around in them.
Everything in front of him was commonplace to Lin Su, but for the Elf King who was leaving the Elf Forest for the first time, everything there was new and new.
"Wow!" The Elf King exclaimed, "Lin, human!"
"Yes, most of the people living there are humans." Lin Su held him and looked at him, then put his fingers together and circled them in front of his face. The originally beautiful elf turned into an emerald green bird for a moment, and then changed back in just a moment.
Lin Su put him on his shoulder: "Now you can talk freely."
"Hmm?" The Elf King didn't understand.
"You are just a bird in the eyes of humans now. You can look at humans as you like, but don't leave me." Lin Su walked down the hillside and headed towards the town. His pointed ears were gradually shrinking into the outline of an ordinary person. Until he arrived in front of the town, he looked like a passing nobleman. Even though his appearance was as outstanding as an elf, no one wanted to cause trouble for themselves when facing such a person who was obviously a noble.
Of course, such an outstanding appearance is enough to attract the attention of many passers-by even if it is only seen under the dark lights on the roadside.
The Elf King looked left and right, carefully sizing up every human who passed by, and came to a conclusion: "Lin, the clothes they wear are really different from those of the elves."
He was talking, but to passers-by it looked like the bird on the nobleman's shoulder chirped twice.
"Yeah." Lin Su replied.
"He seems to be talking to the birds," said a young woman passing by.
"That bird is so obedient! It didn't even fly away even though it wasn't tied up." A passing carriage had its window opened. Inside, a well-dressed lady looked at the man on the side of the road and gestured for the carriage to stop, seemingly lost in thought. "He looks like a nobleman from a book."
Not only a noble, not only like a prince, he is like a... king.
The romantic stories described in the book seemed to have the most realistic conception in an instant.
"Miss, do you need me to ask him to come over and talk to you?" asked the butler sitting next to her.
"No," the lady holding the colorful lace fan covered her face with it, "No, I mean I can't just talk to a man on the street. That's too rude. It's okay if we talk through the window."
The butler beside him laughed, opened the car door and walked down, bowed and stopped in front of Lin Su: "I'm sorry, sir, I may waste a little of your time."
The Elf King, who was curiously surveying his surroundings, looked over. Lin Su glanced at the carriage next to him and declined with a smile, "I'm sorry, I don't have much time."
"It won't take too long," said the butler.
A gentleman should not force himself on others, but the young lady should at least know the identity and name of the person she likes.
