Chapter 90 The Blood Prince's Ambitiousness (4) (3/5)

Albert looked at him with bloodshot eyes. It was the greatest blasphemy to the Lord that such a scoundrel could become a bishop. "Okay, I'll ask the Pope."

He turned and left, but he went not to where the Pope was, but to where Lin Su lived. However, when he got there, he found that he was not there.

"The Master Alchemist went out with Joe." said the person serving here.

"When did he go out? Was there anything unusual when he went out?" Albert asked anxiously.

Lin could no longer stay in the Vatican. People who had not stayed here for a long time would never know how powerful the Vatican was. It made people convinced, admired, and gained spiritual support. People believed that the Vatican could drive away the demons of the night and bring them peace.

It is simply wishful thinking to think that you can eliminate its power with just a few words.

Albert's heart was in great shock, but his mind was clearer than ever. He knew clearly that he was powerless, and he also knew why Lin Su had stopped him from competing with that vampire. Because of the huge disparity in strength, when he looked up, he only knew how insignificant he was and that he had no way to fight back. But now, he at least wanted to let Lin Su survive.

"After the Holy Sons left, they didn't take anything with them. They said they were going out to do some shopping," the servant said. "Is there something urgent, Lord Knight? If they come back, I can help pass on the message."

"It's nothing urgent." Albert said with a curl of his lips.

I went out without taking anything with me, and went out with Joe.

He always felt that someone as smart as Yi Lin should not have failed to think of the consequences after the matter was exposed. Going out suddenly like this did not seem like going for shopping.

But this is just his guess. If Lin Su comes back, he will definitely be sanctioned by the Central Church.

Albert picked up his sword and walked towards the gate, but just as he reached the door, he was stopped by Bishop East who came and said, "Sir Knight, the Pope invites you to come over."

"I'm busy now." Albert tried to force his way in, but was stopped by several knights.

Many knights in the Vatican obey his orders, but some are directly under the Pope.

"If you don't go, we'll be in big trouble," Bishop Easter said. "After all, this is a matter of great importance to the Vatican. We can't let you leave today."

Several knights grabbed the hilts of their swords to block his way. Albert also put his hand on the sword and said, "You want to see if you can stop me."

His strength is undoubtedly the most powerful in the Holy See. Even if he lost to that vampire before, he would not lose to several knights who have been stationed beside the Pope for many years.

Several knights clearly understood this gap, and their hands holding their swords were sweating unconsciously.

"If you force your way in, you will be treated as a traitor to the Holy See." Bishop Easter looked at him and said.

Traitors to the Church were often burned at the stake, and they would lose their current wealth, status, and even their lives.

But his life was saved by Lin. One of the knight's rules is to treat your friends sincerely.

He can prove his sincerity with his life.

Albert drew the sword from his waist and faced the men opposite him. But just as he was about to swing his sword, the voice of a Vatican servant came from a distance: "Master Knight, here is a letter from Mr. Lin."

Albert looked over, and the tense atmosphere eased a little. The Vatican attendant ran up to him, sweating profusely. He bent over and supported his leg, panting, and said, "You asked so urgently before that I forgot. This is the letter that Mr. Lin asked me to pass on to you."

The letter was white and sealed with red rose wax, which was very consistent with that person's style. Albert put the sword back, took the letter and opened it to read.

The letter contained little information, but it basically told him that he had left the Vatican. If he wanted to know what happened next, he could go to several locations to find Joe, who would tell him the truth about everything. He also reminded him, "The spirit of chivalry is bravery and sacrifice, but only by keeping your life can you help more people."

Albert's pupils contracted. He always felt that Lin Su seemed to have expected him to know. With his previous temper, he would definitely act impulsively after knowing such a truth, but now he felt that he was right.

Temporary compromise is not surrender, but to preserve strength, avoid unnecessary struggle, and wait for victory in the future.

"Where is Lin? The Pope wants to see him too," Bishop Easter said. "What did he write to you?"

"Do you want to read the private letter he wrote to me? The Lord respects people's privacy. You must have gotten the position of bishop through the back door." Albert finished reading the letter, memorized the place name on it, then crumpled the paper into a ball and stuffed it into his mouth. He chewed it a few times and swallowed it. "Now I don't want to read it anymore."

His previous roguery had some measure of propriety, but his current roguery made Bishop East blush crimson: "Are you still going to force your way out?"

"No, I want to see the Pope." Albert said, holding the sword.

The Knights are innocent. Some of them even paid the price of their lives to kill vampires. They should not be charged with crimes because of their actions.

Bishop East was stunned for a moment and said, "Yes, please."

Albert strode into the Vatican. As the Grand Master of the Knights, he had met the Pope quite often. However, he had always thought that the man sitting in this highest position was kind and reasonable, and had never thought that he was so hateful.

The Vatican would act in this way absolutely at the behest of the Pope.

"Your Holiness." Albert saluted as a knight.

"My dear child," the Pope stood up and walked down the aisle, "it feels like I haven't seen you for a long time."

"You don't have to say these empty words. I just want to ask you, where were those saints sent to?" Albert asked, looking straight into his eyes.

"Haven't you guessed it?" The Pope stood in front of him, his eyes filled with only kindness, almost merging with the lofty statue.

Albert gripped the hilt of his sword and said, "Why do you do this? Sacrificing human lives for those filthy vampires!"

"Then how do you think the Bird Empire achieved peace?" The Pope's voice rose a notch. He turned his back to Albert and said, "Humans can fight against vampires and encircle and suppress them, but what you don't know is that above the vampires there are the blood clan. Their power can only be resisted by the Central Church's barrier. If it weren't for this deal, all humans would become their livestock."

Albert did not respond. Perhaps what the Pope said made some sense. He had never seen such a powerful force. It was really hard to believe that there were such beings as vampires in this world. Perhaps this was a compromise, but he knew clearly that the most important reason for such a method was to consolidate the rule of the Holy See.
