Chapter 165 Boundless

"Hey John, did you hear that kid really just left like that? Without even turning back to leave our town?" In a corner of the tavern, two burly men with full beards held up beer glasses, one of them shaking his head, looking quite sentimental.

“Yeah, Ed, these days, how many lunatics are like him, just walking away without a second thought?” Ed put down his cup, his gaze piercing through the hazy smoke as he looked toward the tavern door, as if anticipating something. “But then again, I do envy him a little. At least he has the guts to pursue things we can only dream about.”

"Pursuing? Ha! I think he's just looking for a thrill. But if he actually finds some treasure, our town will be in for a treat!" John laughed, drawing laughter from several tables around him, but there was a hint of unrealistic expectation in that laughter.

Meanwhile, on the edge of town, an elderly fisherman dressed simply was mending his fishing nets when a little boy beside him asked curiously, "Grandpa, do you think that older brother can find the Mist Walker?"

The old fisherman stopped his work, his gaze lingering on the distant waves, seemingly looking into the unknown: "Child, the ocean is vast and boundless, hiding countless secrets. If he truly seeks them, he will eventually discover them. Just like fishing, not every cast of the net yields a catch, but if you don't cast a net, you'll never know what's underneath."

The little boy stared wide-eyed, nodded as if he understood, his eyes sparkling with a longing for the unknown.

A few days later, a letter from afar caused a sensation in the town. The letter mentioned that the young explorer had met several like-minded companions on his journey, and together they were solving an ancient mystery, thus revealing the path to the hidden valley.

"See? I told you that young man was something else!" In the blacksmith's shop, the blacksmith vigorously hammered at the red-hot iron, sparks flying everywhere. He said to the young men gathered around him, "Courage and determination, these are the keys to unlocking the unknown."

The young man nodded, a spark ignited in his eyes: "I also want to see the outside world, even if it's just following in their footsteps."

The news spread like wildfire throughout the town, and everyone was infected by this enthusiasm for adventure. Life in the town was no longer just a mundane routine, but was filled with curiosity about the unknown and a desire to explore.

Finally, on a moonlit night with few stars, a letter from the young man was posted on the bulletin board. The letter recounted their various adventures on their journey and the major test they were about to face—an ancient mechanism guarding the entrance to the valley.

"My friends, what we are about to face is not only a test of wisdom and courage, but also a baptism of the soul. No matter the outcome, I believe this experience will be the most precious treasure in our lives," the young man wrote at the end of the letter.

Discussions erupted among the crowd; some were amazed, some were worried, but most expressed their blessings and expectations for the young people.

"Can they do it?" a woman asked her friend, clutching the letter tightly in her hand.

“Who knows? But as long as they’re still on the road, nothing is impossible.” Her friend patted her shoulder gently, her tone full of determination. “And no matter what the outcome, they’ve already shown us that dreams and exploration are worthy of respect.”

As the night deepened and the town gradually drifted into slumber, a new journey was just beginning in the hearts of some. That letter was like a seed planted in the hearts of every dreamer, waiting for the moment it would sprout.

"Do you think they'll succeed?" In a small attic, a brother and sister huddled together, staring at the starry sky outside the window. The younger brother asked softly.

The older sister smiled and gently stroked her younger brother's head: "They will, because in this world, those who have dreams and courage will never stop."

The story pauses here, but everyone knows that tomorrow will be a brand new beginning for both the young man far away and everyone in the town. What will it be like when they reunite someday in the future?

"Mistwalkers, wait for us, we too will have our own legend." In the whispers of the night, these words seemed to transcend time and space, foreshadowing an unprecedented adventure that was slowly unfolding...

"Hey, have you heard? They say that the young explorer and his team have unlocked the ancient mechanism that guards the valley!" Two women whispered among themselves as they picked out fresh fruits and vegetables in front of the grocery store.

"Really? That's amazing! I remember when he left, I was thinking that the kid was too naive. I didn't expect him to be so capable!" One of the women's eyes flashed with surprise and admiration.

"Yes, it's said that the mechanism is so complicated that even the most experienced scholars have a headache, but they only took less than a week!" another woman exclaimed. Hearing this, the people around her cast shocked glances, and the whispers gradually grew louder.

A few days later, a group of eager residents gathered in front of the town's post office, all waiting for the latest mail. As the postman's carriage slowly pulled in, cheers erupted from the crowd. This letter was not merely a delivery of words, but a spark of hope and dreams.

"Dear townspeople," an old man read aloud the young explorer's letter in the square, "we have successfully entered the Hidden Valley. The beauty here is beyond imagination; ancient ruins coexist with unknown creatures, every moment is full of wonder. And the greatest surprise is that we have discovered a legendary treasure map! But this is only the beginning; the real challenge lies in finding and unlocking the secrets of the treasure..."

The square erupted in excitement. Children's eyes sparkled with anticipation for the adventure, while adults felt a surge of pride and anticipation for these brave young people. "Treasure! This sounds like a fairy tale!" a little boy exclaimed, jumping up excitedly.

“It’s much more real than a fairy tale, kid. This proves that miracles can happen if you bravely pursue your dreams.” A middle-aged man next to him patted the boy on the shoulder, his eyes full of hope for the future.

As time went by, news of the expedition team became a daily topic of conversation in the town. Whenever new mail arrived, everyone would temporarily put aside their work and gather together to share this exciting story from afar.

"They say that in a battle against a giant beast, a sword forged by the young blacksmith in our town saved their lives." Inside the blacksmith's shop, the blacksmith proudly showed customers a replica of the legendary sword. "I never imagined that my craftsmanship could be an aid to a hero."

"I can't believe it. That little guy who always liked to daydream by the sea has now become a hero." The old fisherman's grandson pointed to the latest poster on the bulletin board, which depicted the expedition team's fierce battle with a mysterious creature. The child's tone was filled with both admiration and longing.

One day, a special letter was delivered to the town. Its contents were brief but profound: "The most difficult challenge is coming. We will face trials we have never imagined. But please believe that no matter the outcome, we will return with the stories that belong to all of us."

This time, the town's response was no longer just simple amazement and envy, but rather profound reflection and inner resonance. "They taught us that what matters is not just the destination, but also the scenery and growth along the way," a regular customer remarked in the tavern, raising his glass in gratitude.

“Yes, everyone has their own hidden valley in their heart. Daring to take the first step is already a victory.” Another person chimed in, and the surrounding conversation gradually quieted down as everyone sketched out their own adventure plans in their minds.

Night fell again, and the town's lights held a warmth and strength unlike any other. An elderly couple sat in front of their house, gazing at the starry sky. The old woman said softly, "I really hope to see them return with my own eyes and hear them tell those incredible stories."

The old man tightened his grip on her hand, his gaze unwavering: "Yes, they will return in glory. And we, too, will have our own stories to tell."

In this night filled with anticipation and dreams, the town quietly awaits, waiting for those brave travelers, and for every heart that harbors dreams, to weave together a legend belonging to this era.

"When that day comes, we must prepare the finest wine and the warmest welcome, for they are not only explorers, but also our heroes, the light that inspires us to keep moving forward." The old blacksmith whispered by the fire, sparks dancing in the flames, seemingly echoing this expectation and belief.

And will the wanderers in the mist be able to feel this warmth and support from the town, and continue to write their immortal chapters on the unknown road?

All the answers await to be revealed on that glorious day that is about to arrive...
