On the outskirts of the town under the cover of night, an unprecedented tension permeated the air. The magical runes in the mysterious old woman's hand traced dazzling paths across the night sky, shining like stars. At the same time, the black-robed figure from the Dark Legion also gathered immense magical power; the collision of the two forces almost made the earth tremble.
"Mother-in-law, are you sure this will be enough to withstand their attack?" Sophia asked worriedly. Her tone was a mixture of determination and unease, given that this opponent was far more formidable than any threat they had faced before.
“Don’t worry, child.” The old woman’s gentle yet powerful voice pierced through the night. “Ancient knowledge gives me enough confidence and means to fight against any evil forces.”
Aiden gripped his spear tightly, his gaze fixed intently on the ever-approaching, massive shadow ahead: "Then hurry! Time is running out... We need every possible source of power to help us win this battle."
Just as everyone held their breath, waiting for what would happen next, they suddenly heard a series of light and hurried footsteps coming from the crowd—it was the little boy who had volunteered to join the battle!
He ran up to the three main soldiers, panting, and said excitedly, "I...I've discovered some suspicious traces! It seems like a small enemy squad is hiding in the woods over there, sent to scout or harass us!"
Carl frowned. "Very good, lad! Now go and report to the patrol team immediately and have them increase the perimeter!" He then looked at the little boy, "And you yourself, quickly return to the safe zone and stand by, understand?"
The child, though his face was full of resentment, nodded helplessly to show his understanding and then turned and ran away.
Meanwhile, the veteran hunters responsible for setting the traps on the other side were beginning to feel the pressure from all sides. "Everyone, get ready!" a burly middle-aged man shouted. "Proceed according to plan! Remember, under no circumstances can we let those monstrous things succeed so easily!"
"Don't worry, Captain, we'll hold this place!" Another young man, who looked a little younger but was equally brave and fearless, echoed, and even made a cheering gesture to his companion, which drew a chorus of approval from those around him.
As the two sides officially began direct conflict, the battle instantly entered a fierce stage.
Countless brilliant lights suddenly burst forth in the sky, and the old wizard chanted an even more profound and powerful incantation, making the entire scene even more magnificent. "In the name of light, guide us to dispel all darkness!" A dazzling golden light burst forth from his fingertips, as radiant and dazzling as the sun itself, shooting straight towards the first wave of enemy troops that was about to arrive in the distance, causing great chaos and destruction.
However, their initial success was short-lived. After a brief setback, the being known as the 'Lord of the Dark Realm' quickly regained his footing and launched a renewed attack. "Ridiculous... to think you can defeat us with such paltry tactics?" His eyes were filled with disdain and a deeper cruelty. "True despair will begin from this moment..."
As the words fell, the sky, which had just calmed down, began to change dramatically again. An immense, almost suffocating pressure descended from the sky and covered the entire battlefield...
Just when everyone thought the situation was about to spiral completely out of control, the little girl, who had remained silent and quietly observed the unfolding events, suddenly stepped forward and bravely shouted out her innermost thoughts: "My parents said that no matter what difficulties we face, as long as we hold onto faith and courage, we will surely find our own path to light! So I believe that even the darkest darkness cannot forever extinguish the dawn of hope..." Her clear, powerful, and incredibly innocent words seemed to possess a magical power, inspiring and uplifting the long-hidden strength and perseverance deep within the hearts of everyone who, despite facing dire circumstances, had never given up...
Just as the little girl finished speaking and the mysterious old woman activated her magic again to prepare for the unknown challenge ahead, a figure quietly appeared at the edge of the battlefield, attracting everyone's attention. "You are...?" Karl asked warily, looking at the unexpected new face. "Don't be surprised by my sudden appearance," the newcomer said with a smile. "I am here to help, summoned by this child... or rather, to fulfill a promise I made long ago." Although his appearance was ordinary, the confidence and composure he exuded inspired awe. "As for how to address me... you can call me 'Guardian.'"
Upon hearing this, Aiden and the others exchanged puzzled glances but quickly regained their composure without much hesitation. "Since we're friends, there's no need for formalities or unnecessary words. In short, we are very grateful for your support at this crucial juncture," Sofia frankly stated, welcoming their new comrade to the alliance to jointly resist the invasion of a powerful enemy...
Immediately afterwards, a faint, fluorescent blue halo gathered between the guardian's hands, radiating a warm yet resolute aura, as if foreshadowing a new turning point... "Then let us join hands to create a bright future, my warriors!"
With this seemingly ordinary yet infinitely potentialy individual joining the battle, whether the situation can be reversed has become the biggest concern for everyone... And amidst such turmoil and uncertainty, how many unfinished stories await to be continued?
At this moment, a faint rumbling sound gradually drifted from afar, foreshadowing the imminent start of a new round of fierce fighting...
"Is everyone ready?" Aiden looked around and said in a deep voice, "No matter what the outcome is tonight, the most important thing is that everyone does their part to protect our common home! Because we not only represent our individual lives, but also symbolize the united and indomitable spirit of this great village!"
"That's right!" a rousing response rang out from the crowd. "Let's fight side by side until the very last moment!" A little girl beside her nodded vigorously, her eyes unwavering.
But at this moment, no one knows whether the town will remain unchanged when dawn truly arrives, or what unknown fate awaits them after this long and agonizing night...
"No matter what, please remember one thing: no matter how difficult and dangerous the road ahead may be, persevere to the end! Because this is the oath and faith of the brave!" Sofia waved her sword and loudly encouraged each of her companions.
"For tomorrow, for victory... let's go!" Aiden shouted, igniting a fierce fighting spirit in everyone's hearts as they prepared to face the darkest hour before dawn...
And so, led by the guardian spirit, this brave team finally embarked on their journey into the unknown... and this was only the beginning...
