Chapter 123 Scroll

"I can't believe they defeated the Guardians like that." In a nearby town, several merchants huddled together, whispering and discussing the recent strange tale.

"I heard that when that light shone, the whole sky trembled, as if a new sun was rising." One of the stall owners exclaimed in amazement, almost dropping his goods.

"If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, who could imagine that we could witness such a miracle in our time?" The old blacksmith next to him pounded his anvil, his eyes gleaming with reminiscence of past glories.

Just as everyone was discussing this, a messenger rushed in and broke the town's tranquility: "Quick! Everyone, hurry to the town square! It's said that the heroes have returned with a crucial scroll and have something important to announce!"

The crowd erupted in excitement, dropping everything they were doing and surging towards the square. In the sunlight, Alex, Bart, and the young magician stood out conspicuously on the makeshift platform, surrounded by curious and adoring gazes.

Alex raised the scroll in his hand and said in a deep voice, "Friends, this is what we found in the ancient ruins. It contains an important clue to guide us toward the light. However, the road is still long and full of unknowns, and we need more help."

In the crowd, an elderly scholar pushed forward a few steps and said excitedly, "If the ancient wisdom can be of use to us, I am willing to contribute all my knowledge to help decipher this scroll."

"I'm willing too!" "Me too!" More and more people were filled with emotion, expressing their willingness to join this journey to fight for the light.

Barth looked around and said firmly, “Every bit of strength is crucial. We will move forward hand in hand, no matter how many difficulties lie ahead.”

The young mage unfurled the scroll, a soft light enveloping her as she softly uttered an obscure incantation. Suddenly, mysterious maps and runes appeared on the scroll, like a guide to ancient secrets.

"This is... the path to the 'Fountain of Light,' where legend says the power to purify darkness and restore balance to the world is hidden." Her words echoed in the square, and everyone held their breath, their hearts filled with excitement and anticipation.

Just then, a young girl squeezed out of the crowd, holding a bouquet of wildflowers, and handed it to Alex: "Please accept this; may it bring you good luck."

Alex gently accepted the flowers and patted the girl's head. "Thank you. Your trust is more precious than any treasure."

Night fell, and the campfire was relit, but tonight the flames seemed brighter than ever. Alex and his two companions sat around the fire, carefully planning their next move.

"We must not only find the 'Fountain of Light,' but also awaken those slumbering souls, so that they too may become part of the light." The young magician's eyes shone brightly, as if he could already see the dawn of victory.

Barthes clenched his fist and declared with great pride, "Let the forces of darkness see what the power of the people is!"

“That’s right,” Alex nodded, his gaze deep. “Our journey is not just about finding the light, but also about an awakening of the soul. Each of us is a witness to and a participant in this transformation.”

As the conversation continued, the firelight cast long silhouettes of the three men, foreshadowing their magnificent figures that would be remembered in history.

Suddenly, a strange light appeared in the distant sky, and a shooting star streaked across the night sky, leaving a brilliant trail.

“Look, that’s an auspicious sign; light is on the horizon.” A deep and majestic voice rang out, and the mysterious traveler who had appeared at the ruins reappeared behind them.

“But remember,” she continued, “the greatest challenges often arise just before hope. Stay vigilant, keep the light in your hearts, your journey is far from over.”

As she finished speaking, the traveler once again transformed into a gentle breeze and disappeared into the night, leaving only Alex and his two companions, along with the excited crowd gathered around the campfire.

“Then, whatever the future holds, we will face it together.” Alex stood up, looked at the stars in the night sky, and said with a firm and resolute tone.

"Until the light shines in every corner." Barth and the young magician echoed in unison, their eyes meeting with boundless determination and confidence.

The night breeze blew by, the campfire crackled, and their little world seemed to already sense the warmth of the coming era of light.

The following morning, as the first rays of sunlight pierced through the mist and illuminated the town's cobblestone streets, Alex, Barth, and the young magician embarked on their new journey. News of their arrival quickly spread throughout the surrounding villages, attracting even more attention and followers.

"Have you heard? Those heroes are heading to the 'Fountain of Light'. Let's go take a look!" At the village entrance, two young farmers put down their hoes, their eyes sparkling with longing.

“Yes, I also want to go and see for myself, and maybe I can bring some changes to my hometown.” The other person nodded in agreement, and the two of them decided to follow in the footsteps of the heroes.

The group grew stronger as they traveled, with farmers, craftsmen, and even former hermits drawn to their shared belief in the pursuit of light, all joining the journey voluntarily. Their stories spread like the wind across the land, each member carrying their own unique dreams and hopes.

"Mom, look, it's them!" As they passed a wheat field, a little boy pointed to the approaching procession and excitedly told his mother. The mother smiled, tears welling in her eyes: "Yes, my child, they are the ones who bring hope to this world."

Alex and his companions stopped and chatted warmly with the villagers. The young magician took out a glowing gem and distributed it to the children. These gems would guide them at night, symbolizing that even in the darkest times, light exists.

"We will bring the light back. Wait for our good news." Alex's words were simple yet powerful, inspiring everyone.

As their journey deepened, they encountered all sorts of challenges: treacherous mountains, endless deserts, and monsters corrupted by dark forces. In each crisis, someone always stepped forward, displaying unexpected strength and courage.

"Look! Barth cleaved the boulder in two with a single sword strike! He truly is a legendary warrior!" exclaimed an old man following at the back of the group. His words were quickly echoed by those around him, and morale soared.

“And Alex, he was always the first to rush in and protect each and every one of us. His figure reminded me of the heroic era of the past,” a young woman remarked, her words touching the hearts of those around her.

What is most astonishing is the young magician's display of magic. Every night, she uses magic to construct a dazzling tower of light, which serves as both a guiding light and a symbol of fighting against darkness.

"This light is brighter than the stars. Is she really human?" a hunter asked incredulously, the surrounding chatter filled with awe.

And so, after countless days and nights of arduous travel, they finally arrived at the legendary "Fountain of Light." The spring water emitted a soft blue light, and the surrounding air was filled with an atmosphere of purity and tranquility.

Just as everyone was immersed in the sacred scene before them, a powerful undercurrent quietly approached. It was the leader of the dark forces, attempting to prevent them from awakening the power of the Fountain of Light.

"Do you really think you can change all this? Ignorant!" the Dark Leader sneered, his figure appearing and disappearing in the shadows.

“We are not fighting alone. The light in everyone’s heart, when gathered together, is enough to illuminate the deepest darkness,” Alex stepped forward and responded firmly.

A final battle between light and darkness is about to unfold, and all eyes are focused on this decisive moment. Even the spirits of nature around us seem to be holding their breath in anticipation.

"Then let's see if your darkness is more powerful, or if the light in the hearts of countless people in this world shines brighter." The young mage gently raised his hands, and a dazzling light surrounded him.
