Chapter 261 Crack

As the man uttered those meaningful words, a strange sense of tension and anticipation filled the air. The crack in the sky grew wider and wider, and the oppressive feeling emanating from it made everyone feel suffocated.

"Ready!" Aiden roared, brandishing his spear and attacking the monster. Behind him, the others quickly followed, their morale seemingly boosted to its peak by this sudden turn of events.

"Come on! You must defeat these monsters!" a middle-aged man shouted, clenching his fist. His eyes were firm and burning with determination. "We all believe you can protect this town!"

As Karl quickly organized the civilians to evacuate to safety, he shouted, "Get inside and hide! No matter what happens, don't come out!" His gaze swept across the crowd, noticing many people looking at them with worried yet trusting eyes. "We will do everything we can to protect you, please don't worry."

“Brother…” A little girl held her mother’s hand tightly, looked up at the warriors in battle, her eyes filled with curiosity and admiration.

Suddenly, a dazzling white light burst forth from the rift in the sky, and a figure clad in a black cloak slowly emerged. A powerful and eerie aura surrounded him, as if time itself had stood still. "We finally meet," his deep, magnetic voice resonated, carrying an indescribable surge of power.

Faced with such a formidable opponent, even Sophia couldn't help but frown. She turned to look at the man who claimed to be from another world and asked in a low voice, "Do you know who he is? Can we really win?"

The man stared ahead, his eyes resolute: "He is the King of the Dark Realm, an extremely powerful being. But with faith and courage, nothing is impossible. Now is not the time to be afraid."

The guardians stepped forward at that moment, their entire bodies enveloped in blue light. "Justice will never fail. Let us unite and defeat the enemy!"

Just as the two sides were about to engage in full-scale battle, the man who had just landed there, exuding an awe-inspiring aura, merely smiled slightly and did not immediately make a move: "Why the rush? The game has only just begun. Let me say this—welcome to this game of destiny. Remember, here, everyone will be an indispensable part of pushing the wheels of history forward. I hope you enjoy this journey."

Upon hearing this, everyone present was stunned, and their emotions, which had been prepared for a life-or-death struggle, became somewhat chaotic. But they quickly regained their composure, exchanged glances, and their fighting spirit was rekindled.

Aiden said through gritted teeth, "No matter what you think, all I know is that I must protect the people I care about from any harm."

Sofia nodded, a brave smile returning to her face. "That's right. No matter how many difficulties and obstacles lie ahead, just thinking about all the faces behind us that need to rely on us gives us the motivation to keep moving forward."

The mysterious envoy's lips curved into a gentle smile as he said softly, "Very well. Then, please display your full strength..."

Just as this unusual clash of forces was about to erupt—

Suddenly, a faint yet clearly audible sound rang out from some hidden corner:

"Wait... Has no one noticed... There's a strange woman standing over there?" The speaker was an old wizard-like man dressed in a traditional robe. He was pointing towards the edge of the town, near the forest, where a woman in strange clothing could indeed be vaguely seen standing quietly, observing all the changes.

These words immediately drew everyone's attention and alertness. Even the previously aloof black-clad king was no exception, his gaze following suit as he turned to the distance…

"Who exactly is that woman?" Aiden gripped his spear tighter, a hint of wariness in his eyes. "She dares to show up here at a time like this..."

Karl quickly directed the people around him to take a few steps back again: "Be careful, don't let her get close to us." After saying that, he himself couldn't help but look at the mysterious woman. She stood there as calm as a still statue, yet she exuded an aura that was impossible to ignore.

"Hey, does anyone know this strange woman? Could she be reinforcements sent by the enemy? Or some other schemer?" the old wizard shouted anxiously, his voice trembling with panic. "Whatever the case, we need to be careful!"

Just then, a seemingly inconspicuous vendor squeezed out from the crowd. He squinted and observed carefully for a while before suddenly exclaiming in surprise, "Wait a minute, friends! I've seen that person before—she used to come to town often to sell all sorts of strange and unusual things!"

As soon as these words were spoken, many townspeople present began to discuss them.

"Oh right, now that you mention it, I remember now. Once she even sold small stone tablets that could control flames to children to play with!"

A young mother, holding her sleeping baby, softly echoed, "But she never says much, and she disappears without a trace after each sale... She seems quite mysterious."

Just as people were debating the identity of this unexpected person, Sofia stepped forward and said in a deep voice, "Regardless of her stance, the most important thing right now is to figure out whether she poses a threat to us."

The man nodded slightly. "That's true. Now is not the time for blind speculation. We should take the initiative."

The guardian, enveloped in blue light, slowly approached the edge of the forest. "Are you friend or foe? In this life-or-death situation, please state your position."

Faced with the crowd's questions and the approaching footsteps, the woman in strange clothes finally moved, turned to look in their direction, and spoke—her voice was clear yet slightly cold, "I'm just passing through. Your battle with the Dark Lord is nothing to me."

Upon hearing this, a chorus of boos immediately erupted from the crowd, and some even couldn't help but curse.

"Hmph, how dare you say that? Do you think you can ignore all of this on your own? You're truly ignorant and arrogant!"

Another young man retorted angrily, "That's right, that's right! Since we're here, we should have the courage to take on the corresponding responsibilities! Either help us resist the invaders, or get out of the way and stop getting in our way!"

The mysterious woman simply smiled, a subtle, complex expression flashing in her eyes. "Alright. Then I'll show you the way: defeating that guy isn't as simple as you think… but as long as you work together and believe in the unbreakable bond between you, victory is assured." As she spoke, her gaze seemingly casually fell upon the core warriors.

Sofia seemed to understand something and nodded in acknowledgment, while Aiden gripped his weapon tightly, ready to face any eventuality. "I don't know whether I should believe you, but since you've said it, let's give it a try! Anyway, we don't have any better options right now."

The black-clad king sneered upon hearing this: "Ha~ You insignificant ants think you can challenge me with childish ideas like unity and cooperation? How utterly foolish."

Immediately afterwards, an even more intense pressure suddenly swept over the entire area, making the air feel heavy and oppressive, as if filled with an invisible force...

Just as everyone was about to launch their attack, the mysterious woman's figure vanished into the depths of the night like a ghost. "Goodbye, warriors~" With this last echo lingering, all returned to silence.

"Uh... that's it? How could she just run away like that!" Karl muttered helplessly, frowning as he looked in the direction she had gone.

Meanwhile, in a secluded spot on the other side, the old wizard, who had been hiding for a long time, muttered to himself, "Just as the legends say... so she is the legendary Weaver of Fate..."
