Chapter 153 Savior

“That’s right. As long as we are united, even the storms at the ends of the earth cannot stop us.” The young thief smiled confidently as he gazed into the distance, his eyes reflecting the brilliance of the rising sun.

After crossing the valley, they arrived at a vast, boundless wasteland. The sky here was exceptionally wide, and the wind carried fine sand, adding a touch of desolate beauty to their journey. In the distance, the ruins of an ancient city loomed in the distance—the Forgotten City, their destination.

During their journey, they encountered a caravan struggling against a raging storm. Their tents swayed precariously, torn apart by the sandstorm, and the camels bellowed anxiously. Upon seeing the Mist Walkers, the caravan leader rushed to greet them as if they were his saviors.

"Are you travelers? Thank fate for bringing us together! Please help us, this storm is about to destroy everything." The leader pleaded anxiously, his eyes filled with both despair and hope.

"Everyone, hold on, we'll help you get through this." The Mistwalker immediately gave instructions, and the team members quickly took action to help the caravan fortify their camp, while using magic and skills to resist the sandstorm.

The villagers witnessed everything and were all amazed by the Mistwalker team's teamwork and ability. "This is unheard of and unseen! They are like guardians in the storm!" a woman exclaimed, covering her mouth with admiration.

The storm finally passed, and the caravan was safe and sound. The caravan leader was moved to tears and insisted on presenting valuable supplies as a token of his gratitude. "Heroes," he said, "please accept these. Without you, we would have long since perished in the sandstorm."

The Mist Walker smiled and politely declined: "Your safety is the greatest reward for us. But if one day you hear news about something that will change the fate of the world, please tell us. Perhaps that is where our shared hope lies."

After bidding farewell to the caravan, they continued their journey towards the Forgotten City. Along the way, the young thief joked, "This trip has been full of surprises! First, the ancient guardian beast, and now this desert storm. I really want to know what awaits us next."

"As long as there are five of us, plus this spirit of exploration for the unknown, there's nothing we can't solve." The old hunter laughed heartily, his optimism infecting everyone.

Finally, the Forgotten City came into view. The city gates were half-closed, and the marks of time gave this once-glorious city a desolate and mysterious air. The group stepped into the city; the streets were empty and deserted, with only the wind whispering on the stone pavement, telling tales of the past.

"This place was once a center of knowledge and magic, until a catastrophe caused it to be forgotten by the world." The Mistwalker gently stroked a statue, as if conversing with history.

"So, is the answer we're looking for beneath these ruins?" The young thief looked around, his curiosity mixed with nervousness.

Just as they were preparing to explore further, the ground suddenly shook, and a beam of light rose from the city center, illuminating the entire sky. "What was that?" everyone exclaimed in surprise.

“It seems we’ve found a clue.” The Mistwalker gripped his sword hilt tightly, his eyes gleaming with determination and resolve. “Whatever lies ahead, let’s face it together.”

The group quickened their pace, rushing towards the source of the light. Exclamations and praises from passersby echoed behind them as they walked further and further away, finally disappearing into that incredible light.

"Can they really find a way to save the world?" The child's voice rang out again, though distant, it was full of hope.

"Only time will tell, but I know that with them here, hope will never be extinguished," the mother replied gently, tears glistening in her eyes.

Deep within the Forgotten City, unknown challenges and miracles await them quietly, and their story will surely become another awe-inspiring legend.

"Look! What's that?" a caravan member exclaimed, pointing to the strange cloud formation gradually gathering in the sky. The surrounding crowd stirred, stopping their work and looking up. The cloud seemed to contain some kind of power, instilling a sense of awe in everyone.

"It's magic, powerful magic..." the mage in the group murmured, his eyes filled with both fear and excitement. Even he, a mage who prided himself on his extensive knowledge, had never witnessed such a sight before.

"It seems the secrets of the Forgotten City are far more complex than we imagined." The old hunter narrowed his eyes, his sharp gaze piercing through the dust, trying to glimpse the core of the light. His experience told him that behind every adventure lay untold dangers and opportunities.

"No matter what, we cannot back down." The young thief gripped the dagger at his waist, his eyes gleaming with eager anticipation. For him, every adventure was a challenge to his limits and the best opportunity to prove himself.

As they drew closer to the source of the light, subtle changes began to occur in their surroundings. Ancient runes on the stone path gradually lit up, as if responding to some kind of summons. A faint incense scent filled the air, calming the mind yet concealing a hidden mystery.

"This...this is an ancient welcoming ceremony?" The scholar in the group pushed up his glasses, a look of shock flashing in his eyes. He had read in ancient books that some ancient cities would automatically activate a welcoming ceremony when important guests arrived, but witnessing this scene with his own eyes still made him find it hard to believe.

"Welcome, brave travelers." A distant and solemn voice resounded in their hearts, as if speaking directly to their souls. The surrounding air rippled, and the image of an elderly man in a long robe with a kind face gradually materialized.

"You...you are?" The Mist Walker stepped forward and asked respectfully. He could sense the other party's power; he could even perceive a power that transcended life and death without the other party lifting a finger.

“I am the guardian spirit of the Forgotten City, and I have long protected its secrets and treasures. Your arrival seems to be the pull of fate.”

“Guardian Spirit, we have come here to find the key to saving the world from peril. It is said that this power is hidden here.” The young thief eagerly expressed his purpose, his tone filled with both longing and respect.

The guardian spirit smiled slightly, its gaze sweeping over each person in turn, finally settling on the Mistwalker. "You, leader of the Mistwalkers, possess the wisdom and courage to lead them out of the mist. I understand your heart."

"So, would you be willing to help us?" The old hunter's voice carried a barely perceptible urgency. Time was of the essence; they had no time to waste on riddles.

"Help? No, the real answer must be found by you yourselves. But I can give you guidance." The guardian spirit stretched out its hand, pointing to the most magnificent tower in the center of the city. "There, the key to unlocking the door to the future is hidden. Remember, trials and tribulations go hand in hand, and only those with steadfast and pure hearts can pass through them."

After saying this, the guardian spirit's figure gradually faded away, leaving only a piece of advice echoing in the wind: "The fate of the world is in your hands."

Gazing in the direction where the guardian spirit had disappeared, the Mistwalker took a deep breath, turned around, and his eyes burned with an unprecedented determination. "Friends, are you ready to face the challenge? For this world, and for ourselves."

"Of course, no matter how difficult the road ahead may be, we will walk it together." The crowd responded in unison, their figures appearing exceptionally tall in the afterglow of the setting sun, full of resilience and hope.

On the other side of the city, a shadow crept in, and a pair of malevolent eyes coldly observed everything. "Interesting, very interesting... Mistwalkers, do you think you're saviors? Let's see if you can leave here alive..."

With a cold laugh, the shadows merged into the night, as if they had never existed. And the Forgotten City was about to face its most magnificent battle since its thousand-year slumber…

"Can they find the key and uncover the truth?" the child's voice rang out again, filled with boundless curiosity.

“They will, because they are the legendary Mist Walkers, invincible.” The mother’s answer was full of pride. She believed that no matter how many difficulties and challenges lay ahead, these brave travelers would eventually create their own legend.
