Chapter 228 The Floating Island

Arya felt a chill emanating from the passage, but she didn't stop. She took a deep breath and bravely stepped into the darkness. Just as she disappeared into the energy channel, Samir shouted, "Arya, we'll catch up as soon as possible!" His words had barely left his lips when he too stepped into another strangely shaped portal.

Meanwhile, in the area where the villagers had gathered, the atmosphere became unusually tense. "Are they really going to split up like this? Isn't that dangerous?" a young villager asked anxiously.

“Every hero needs to go through their own challenges,” Grayson replied calmly. “It’s not just a test of strength or intelligence, but a major examination of their inner beliefs.”

On the other side, Rex stepped into his chosen space. The space was filled with eerie sounds and constantly shifting colors of light. "Is this what they call a trial?" Rex murmured, quickly drawing a sharp knife, ready to defend against any potential attack. Just then, a gentle yet firm voice came from all directions: "You are facing not only external enemies, but also the fear and doubt within your own heart. Only the truly strong can overcome these obstacles."

Thomas, facing a similar predicament, stood within a boundless palace of knowledge, filled with books. Each book held the secrets of the world, yet finding the correct answers within them proved to be the most difficult task. "Knowledge is a weapon," he muttered to himself, as he perused the countless precious documents before him, striving to find the key clues to solving his problem.

Meanwhile, deep within the dense forest on the outskirts of the village, several mysterious figures were closely observing these changes. "It seems these young people really do have some talent," the leader said with a faint smile, his attendant nodding in agreement. "However, whether they can pass the gatekeeper's final test will probably depend on their performance in the future."

When Arya reappeared, she found herself in a vast and beautiful valley, the air filled with the fresh scent of flowers and grass, as if all the darkness before her had vanished. "What's going on?" Just as she was wondering, a gentle voice sounded: "Congratulations on successfully traversing the illusion world. This is where your heart resides. Only by understanding and accepting your true self can you continue your journey." As the voice faded into the distance, the surrounding scenery began to change, revealing a more vibrant and colorful panorama.

Just then, a series of booming sounds came from afar—it turned out that huge, mechanical-like creatures had suddenly appeared in the area where Robin was! They rampaged around, letting out deafening roars. "Come on, let's have a good fight!" He drew his bowstring taut, aimed at the nearest target, and instantly several arrows streaked across the sky like meteors, striking the enemy's vitals.

As time ticked by, the four protagonists struggled fiercely in their respective worlds. Finally, after countless attempts and setbacks, the four energy paths began to shine brightly—indicating that everyone had successfully completed their respective tasks. Immediately afterwards, they were drawn together by a powerful force to a strange place.

This is the final stop of the trial: a city floating above the clouds, composed entirely of pure energy. The air is thick with an aura of holiness and solemnity. "Welcome to the City of Holy Light. Only those of unwavering resolve can ascend to this realm." The guardian slowly approaches. "You have proven your worth and ability. Now, prepare for the final and most crucial battle—the battle of the mind."

Upon hearing this, everyone present displayed a mixture of surprise and excitement. "A battle of minds..." Arya murmured, her eyes growing increasingly resolute and shining. At this moment, a heated discussion erupted from the group of young people watching the battle not far away:

"Wow, this time we actually have to fight against the demons inside our hearts? This is so exciting!" One of the boys was blushing, unable to hide his excitement.

Another girl looked very worried: "I hope Arya and the others are safe and sound. We must hold on no matter what!"

Grayson maintained his calm smile and gazed ahead, "True warriors never give up easily. Let's look forward to their spectacular performance."

And so, with everyone's blessings and support, this unprecedented adventure embarked on a brand new journey. What fate awaits them? Perhaps only when that moment truly arrives will the answer be revealed…

As Arya and the others were drawn by energy into the city of holy light floating above the clouds, a solemn and sacred atmosphere filled the air. The towering towers and softly glowing roads created a breathtaking world. In this environment, the four protagonists felt a mixture of tension and excitement, unsure how the impending battle of the mind would test their will and wisdom.

“This place is truly more beautiful than I ever imagined,” Thomas exclaimed, his eyes gleaming with a long-sought-after thirst for knowledge. “But if you ask me how I got here… to be honest, I still have no idea.”

Robin patted him on the shoulder and said with a smile, "Since you're here, don't overthink it. At least it's more comfortable than fighting those metal monsters, right?"

As soon as they finished speaking, several mysterious visitors passing by stopped and looked at them. An elderly man who looked very learned nodded approvingly and said, "It is truly commendable that young warriors are brave enough to accept their inner challenges. I hope you can overcome your self-limitations and unleash your potential."

Hearing the stranger's confident words, everyone present felt greatly encouraged. "Thank you for your recognition! We will work even harder to prove we deserve this honor!" Arya replied firmly.

Just then, a woman who appeared to be guiding them slowly approached. "Welcome to the final destination of this special trial. The battle of the mind is the last hurdle that every participant must overcome. Please follow me to the testing grounds."

Led by the woman through a long corridor, they arrived at the center of a gigantic sphere woven from countless interwoven lights and shadows. Once they stood still, the woman smiled and pointed to the gradually appearing virtual world gate before them, saying, "Please enter and begin your trial—remember, in this world only the purest souls can see the dawn of victory!"

After speaking, she stepped aside and waited silently. Faced with this sudden challenge, everyone felt unprecedented pressure, but also was filled with fighting spirit. The first to voluntarily step into the unknown world was Rex, "Since that's the case, I'll go first. Anyway, it's not the first time we've encountered strange things... Come on, brothers and sisters!"

Watching their companions slowly disappear into the shimmering light, the remaining three followed closely behind, crossing the boundary line one after another. Soon, the four found themselves on a vast and tranquil plain, the sky displaying a combination of colors they had never seen before, as if the entire universe was watching them.

Suddenly, the ground shook violently, and a group of strange-looking but clearly aggressive creatures charged towards the heroes from all directions. As the battle began, the observer from before reappeared—this time in the form of a holographic projection.

"Don't be afraid, these are all illusions. Maintaining faith will dispel the delusion!" The old man's tone remained calm. "More importantly, use this opportunity to learn how to better communicate and understand your companions—after all, what you really need to overcome next is the negative emotion lurking deep within your heart!"

Hearing this, everyone realized that they were not facing an ordinary enemy, but a tool used to reflect each person's personality traits and psychological state. "Alright, I know what to do—as long as we work together, there is no difficulty we cannot overcome!" Arya clenched her fist and loudly encouraged her teammates while rushing to the front line, waving her staff and summoning several ice spikes to repel the enemy's attack.

On the other side, Thomas used his extensive knowledge to analyze the best strategic position; Rex, wielding a short sword, nimbly dodged every attack from his opponent, looking for an opportunity to counterattack; as for Robin, he drew his bow and fired continuously to ensure that his teammates would not easily fall into a disadvantageous situation.

After a fierce battle, the four protagonists finally managed to repel the first wave of monsters. They smiled at each other: no matter the outcome, at least they had found a way to fight back.

However, just as everyone was preparing to celebrate the initial results, dark clouds suddenly gathered and lightning flashed – clearly, this contest was far from over…
