Chapter 136 Resonance

“Hope is right.” Amy nodded in agreement, her gaze sweeping over each of her teammates, whose figures appeared exceptionally resolute in the setting sun. “Every chapter of a legend is woven from countless unknowns and challenges. And now, it is time for us to write a new chapter.”

Passersby on the street noticed the group of brave men returning from the ruins and began to discuss it.

“Look, aren’t they the legendary warriors who fight against darkness?” a young woman whispered, pointing at Hope and her group while holding her child’s hand.

"Mom, will they win?" The child looked up, his eyes filled with curiosity and anticipation.

“Of course, they are heroes,” the woman replied with a smile, her eyes sparkling with hope for the future.

As the procession passed through the market, an old man selling fruit stopped his scales and squinted at them: "I haven't seen eyes like that in a long time, like starlight that can pierce through the night."

"Grandpa, what are they looking for?" The grandson next to him tugged at the old man's sleeve and asked.

The old man patted the child's head kindly: "They are looking for hope, child. The kind of hope that everyone should have in their heart."

As night fell, Hope and the others sat in a simple camp, with the holy book placed in the center, emitting a soft light that illuminated everyone's faces.

“This sacred text not only records the secrets of the past, but also guides the path to the future.” Hope turned the pages, her expression solemn. “But the most crucial part seems to require specific conditions to unlock.”

"Specific conditions?" Jack frowned. "Like what?"

Hope's gaze fell on an obscure prophecy: "'When the light of the heart gathers and souls resonate, true power can awaken.' This sounds like... we need to find some kind of resonance, or a specific person."

Outside the camp, a series of hurried footsteps interrupted their discussion. A panting boy stumbled in, crying, "Please, save my village! Monsters... monsters have attacked us!"

Hope immediately stood up, her gaze resolute: "Let's go. If this is the first test the Holy Scripture has given us, then we will face it head-on."

The group quickly prepared and headed in the direction the boy had indicated. In the darkness, a small village was shrouded in fear and despair, with firelight and screams intertwining to create a scene of apocalypse.

"Prepare for battle, protect the innocent, it is our duty." Hope drew her sword of light and led her troops into the battlefield.

The villagers were terrified when they saw these uninvited guests. At first, they were afraid, but they soon realized that these people had come to help.

"Look! They are bringing light to fight against darkness!" an old man exclaimed excitedly, his eyes shining with hope.

The battle was incredibly fierce. Hope and his team traversed the village, and each monster they defeated drew gasps of amazement and tears of gratitude from the surrounding villagers.

"I never imagined the legend was true." A middle-aged woman hugged her child tightly, watching Hope's figure dance in the firelight, her eyes filled with gratitude.

The battle was finally over, and the village was saved. Amidst the ruins, Hope stood in the center of the villagers, holding the holy book high, feeling an unprecedented power surge within him.

"We are not just here to fight, but to awaken the light within everyone." Hope's voice echoed in the night sky. "True power comes from the awakening of every soul. When we are united, light will be everywhere."

The villagers gathered around Hope, their eyes shifting from initial fear to hope and trust. This victory was not only a triumph over an external enemy, but also a banishment of the deep-seated fear and despair within themselves.

"Where will we go next? What will we encounter?" Amy asked softly, her face showing both anticipation and unease.

Hope closed the sacred book and gazed at the distant, unknown horizon, where the stars shone brightly, filled with unknown challenges and infinite possibilities.

"No matter where or when, as long as there is light in our hearts, there is no difficulty we cannot overcome." Hope's answer was firm and warm, and the last sentence drifted gently in the wind, leaving endless imagination and expectation for the future.

"Because we are messengers of light, terminators of darkness. And this is only the beginning."

“You’re right, Hope.” Jack nodded in agreement, a renewed determination in his eyes. “As long as we stand together, there is no challenge we cannot overcome.”

Just as everyone was immersed in the joy of victory and their anticipation of the journey ahead, a ragged traveler staggered into the crowd. With trembling hands, he pointed at Hope: "You...you are the...chosen ones? I...I saw you in my dreams, and you said you could change everything."

Hope stepped forward, supported the seemingly frail traveler, and asked with concern, "Change everything? Please tell us more information; perhaps this is the direction the scriptures are pointing us in."

The traveler took a deep breath, and the surrounding villagers gathered around, waiting with curiosity and tension for his next words. He slowly began, "At the edge of the world, there stands a forgotten tower, containing the secrets of ancient light. It is said that the guardian there holds the key to purifying the darkness and restoring the balance of the world. But... the tower's doors are tightly shut, and no one can enter, unless..."

"Unless what?" Amy pressed urgently, her eyes reflecting the firelight, as if she could already foresee the adventure that was about to unfold.

"Unless we find the lost key—the Heart of Light." As soon as the traveler finished speaking, a chorus of astonishment erupted from the crowd.

"The Heart of Light?" a child repeated curiously, his voice sounding exceptionally clear in the night.

“Yes, the Heart of Light, a mysterious artifact that has existed since ancient times. It can sense pure souls, and only those with pure hearts can touch it.” After the traveler finished speaking, his gaze swept over Hope and his group, as if searching for that legendary purity.

An elder from the village approached, leaning on his cane. His voice was old but strong: "Children, if such a thing truly exists, it will surely respond to you. For in this world, nothing illuminates the darkness more than a hero with unwavering faith and a pure heart."

Hope gazed at the sacred text in his hands, which seemed to glow faintly at that moment, as if resonating with the elder's words. He turned to face all the team members and villagers: "Let us set off to find the Heart of Light, to break the seal, and to let the light shine on the earth once more. This is not only for our homeland, but also for every heart that yearns for light."

The crowd responded to Hope's call, the atmosphere was electric, as if an unstoppable force was gathering around them. Just as they were about to embark on the next leg of their journey, a young woman hurriedly squeezed into the crowd, her face pale, but her eyes burning with an undeniable determination.

“Take me with you, I know a secret path to the Tower of Oblivion.” Her appearance surprised everyone, especially Hope, who keenly sensed that this woman was no ordinary person.

"Who...who are you?" Amy stepped forward, both wary and curious.

The woman bowed deeply: "My name is Leah. I was once an apprentice of the guardian in the tower until darkness fell, forcing me to flee. I am willing to lead the way as atonement for my failure to protect this light."

Hope pondered for a moment, then extended her hand: "Welcome, Leah. What matters is your past and your future. Together, we will write a new chapter of light."

A tear glistened in Leah's eyes as she gripped Hope's hand tightly. The surrounding crowd erupted in enthusiastic applause and cheers, as if celebrating a new hope.

As the team embarked on their new journey, the stars in the night sky seemed even brighter, guiding them towards the unknown distance. Just as Hope turned around, a mysterious dark figure flashed past in the distance, leaving behind an unsettling, cold laugh.

"The journey has only just begun, messengers of light, are you ready to face the real trials?" This unseen voice is both a warning and a challenge, foreshadowing that the road ahead is far more difficult and complex than imagined.

Hope stopped and looked back at the darkness, a confident smile playing on her lips: "No matter what we face, as long as there is light in our hearts, darkness will never prevail. Come, let us meet the challenge and move towards the heart of light."
