“Indeed, the struggle between light and darkness is never simple.” An old man in a tattered cloak appeared at the edge of the crowd. His eyes were deep and seemed to see through the world. “I have heard ancient books say that although the power of the Shadow Heart is sealed, it is not easily broken. Perhaps this is just another trap set by the Shadow King.”
“Or perhaps, it’s a test.” A young scholar pushed up his glasses and stepped out from the crowd. “Great heroes throughout history have all undergone numerous trials. Their victories were not only about defeating external enemies, but more importantly, about the sublimation of their inner selves.”
“Yes, if that’s the case, they must find a deeper truth in order to completely quell the struggle between light and darkness.” A richly dressed noblewoman echoed, her eyes filled with both envy and worry. “After all, true peace can never be achieved through force.”
"So, where will they go next? To look for new clues? Or will a higher being guide them?" a child asked curiously, his clear eyes sparkling with a thirst for adventure.
An old soldier patted the child's head, his weathered voice tinged with tenderness: "Child, no matter what kind of divine guidance you receive, or the path you choose to explore on your own, what matters is your heart. As long as there is light in your heart, darkness will eventually recede."
"And let's not forget the creatures that silently support them," a seemingly ordinary farmer added, a warm smile on her face. "Every life could be an indispensable force on their journey."
At that moment, a gentle breeze swept by, carrying a whisper, as if nature itself was responding to everyone's words: "Their journey is also the journey of hope for all living beings. In the intertwining of light and darkness, there will always be someone who chooses to become that ray of light, guiding others forward."
The crowd fell silent, each person silently praying for the three heroes, while also secretly hoping that they could become such a ray of light in their own world.
“Let’s go, friends.” The old man who spoke first slowly turned around and left behind a profound statement: “No matter where their story goes, at least it has taught us courage and perseverance. In this world, every small choice can create waves, and perhaps our own story is made wonderful because of that.”
As the crowd gradually dispersed, each person wore a thoughtful expression, yet a seed of curiosity and anticipation for the unknown was quietly planted in their hearts. Ahead, the stories of the Lightbringer, Leia, and the Huntress, and the hope and courage they symbolized, inspired more people to explore and to believe—that even in the deepest darkness, light will never be absent.
On the other side of the distant continent of Esteria, in a mysterious land known as the Misty Forest, legend has it that ancient wisdom and unsolved mysteries are hidden. Here, the dense foliage blocks out even sunlight, paving an alluring yet perilous path for explorers. On this forgotten land, three heroes—Alex, the messenger of light; Leia, the wise witch; and Irene, the valiant huntress—embark on a new journey to unravel the mystery of the seal on the Heart of Shadow.
"The atmosphere here... is chilling," Alex said softly, his sword twirling gently in his hand, its golden light contrasting sharply with the gloom around him.
Leia followed closely behind, her wand emitting a soft blue light that illuminated the path ahead: "Ancient magic intertwines here; we must proceed with caution at every step."
Eileen's eyes were sharp as she warily surveyed her surroundings: "The shadows might be lurking in this mist, preparing to give us a 'surprise'."
As the three ventured deeper into the forest, a hurried traveler suddenly emerged from the bushes beside them, nearly bumping into Alex.
"Hey! Who are you people?!" The traveler exclaimed in panic, clutching his bundle tightly with both hands.
“We are travelers seeking the truth,” Alex explained gently, while displaying his radiant presence.
The traveler looked the three of them up and down, his expression shifting from fear to surprise: "Lightbringer! I...I've heard of your deeds. I'm Jack from Salo Town. The Misty Forest has become increasingly eerie these days, and many people dare not enter it anymore."
“Strange? What happened?” Leia pressed.
Jack swallowed hard. "People say that at night they can hear ancient whispers, and... glowing eyes that gleam in the woods. Many people have gone missing."
“This might be related to our mission.” Eileen gripped her bow and arrow tightly, her eyes resolute.
"Please be careful, great warriors," Jack said earnestly, then hurriedly left.
As the three ventured deeper, the mist seemed to come alive, sometimes dense, sometimes thin. Suddenly, they came to an open area, in the center of which stood a giant rock covered in runes.
“This is what we’ve been looking for.” Leia touched the rune lightly, ancient light flowing from her fingertips. “It’s a guide, pointing to the true location of the Shadow Heart’s seal.”
“Hopefully this isn’t just another trap.” Alex glanced around warily.
"Only by facing the challenges head-on can we find the answers," Eileen said, eager to try.
Just as they were about to leave, a melodious song pierced through the mist, dreamlike and enchanting, causing the surrounding animals to quiet down and listen.
“That singing…” Alex listened intently.
"It doesn't sound like a human singing." Leia also seemed quite surprised.
Following the sound, they found a woman in a green robe sitting in a forest clearing, her singing seemingly blending into the surrounding nature.
"Welcome to the heart of the Misty Forest." The woman stopped singing and smiled at the three of them. "I am Evelyn, the Forest Singer. I have heard of your journey."
"Do you know anything about the Heart of Shadows?" Eileen asked directly.
Evelyn sighed: "The balance between shadow and light is the lifeblood of this continent. Breaking the seal is not a simple confrontation, but a quest for harmony."
"Harmony? How can that be achieved?" Alex asked, puzzled.
“That requires not only strength, but also understanding and sacrifice.” Evelyn’s voice carried a strange sadness. “On your journey to the Heart of Shadows, you will face three great trials. Only those with pure hearts, unwavering in the face of darkness, can see through everything.”
"A test?" Leia frowned. "Please tell us more."
“Every test is a trial of your faith, and you will only know what it is by experiencing it firsthand.” Evelyn gently shook her head. “Remember, true light comes not only from the outside world, but also from within.”
“We will find the answer, for the sake of this world,” Alex said firmly, his eyes blazing.
"Then, may the light guide you." Evelyn sang that melodious song again, her voice seemingly containing encouragement and blessings. As the melody faded, she gradually disappeared from the three people's sight, leaving only a faint fragrance of flowers and endless contemplation.
"Are we ready?" Eileen looked at Alex and Leia, her eyes shining with determination.
“Whatever awaits us ahead,” Leia gripped her wand tightly, “we will face it together.”
"Let us set out, for light and harmony." Alex took the lead, stepping into the depths of the unknown mist, leaving behind endless suspense and the spark of hope to continue burning in this world shrouded in shadow.
