Chapter 166 Dungeon

"Did you know that they recently discovered an ancient underground city? The ingenious design of its mechanisms is so sophisticated that it's not even recorded in history books." In the town's teahouse, two old men sipped their tea and whispered about the latest rumors.

"An ancient underground city? That sounds incredibly exciting! I wonder if the young men in our town can get through those traps successfully." Another old man's eyes gleamed with excitement, as if he himself had participated in that adventure.

Just then, the teahouse door was pushed open, a cool breeze swept in, and a traveler appeared. His face bore the marks of travel fatigue, but his eyes shone with an undisguised light. He went straight to the counter: "Excuse me, is this a place where you can find the latest news about that group of young explorers?"

"Oh, you've come to the right place," the teahouse owner greeted warmly. "Everyone loves to share their stories here. You've just arrived in town, haven't you? Why don't you have a cup of hot tea to warm yourself up, and let me tell you about their latest feat?"

The traveler nodded gratefully and accepted the tea. The surrounding customers also gathered around, each hoping to hear some unusual news from this outsider.

"When I passed through the Northern Territory, I heard that they encountered a pack of talking wolves. The leader of the pack was even intelligent and spoke with them." As soon as the traveler finished speaking, a murmur of surprise rippled through the teahouse.

"A talking wolf? This world is truly full of wonders!" A middle-aged woman covered her mouth, unable to hide her surprise.

"The emergence of intelligent beings often signifies the guardians of ancient secrets, or the beginning of trials," a young scholar-like man said thoughtfully, adjusting his glasses.

“That’s right. They also mentioned a crucial piece of information: these wolves led them to a hidden ice cave, which is said to hold the key clues to the location of the final treasure.” The traveler took a sip of tea to moisten his throat, and everyone’s attention was firmly drawn to him.

"An ice cave? It sounds so cold it makes you shiver." A hunter dressed in thick fur shrank his neck, but his eyes gleamed with eager anticipation.

"Cold places often hide the most passionate secrets, don't they?" the teahouse owner added with a smile, making the atmosphere even more lively.

Just as everyone was discussing the matter, a new letter arrived at the teahouse. It was from the explorer. The owner carefully opened the envelope, and the surroundings immediately fell silent as everyone held their breath in anticipation.

"They have found a way into the ice cave, which is filled with fantastical ice sculptures and wonders untouched by modern civilization. More importantly, they have discovered an ancient stone tablet with the final riddle guiding them to the treasure." The boss read the letter aloud, word by word, eliciting gasps of surprise from the audience with each sentence.

"It seems our heroes are getting closer and closer to their goal," the old blacksmith sighed, gripping the replica sword that symbolized glory tightly in his hand, as if he could feel the pulse of the adventurers far away.

“Yes, but this last hurdle doesn’t sound so simple. Could that riddle be the biggest challenge they’ve faced so far?” The scholar stroked his chin, his eyes gleaming with curiosity.

As night deepened, the people in the teahouse lingered, reluctant to leave. Each of them harbored a seed of adventure, hoping that explorers would uncover all the mysteries and bring back treasures that would shake the world.

“They can definitely do it.” A young girl stood up, her eyes resolute. “Because they’re not just exploring for themselves, but for all of us, for those who yearn to transcend the ordinary and pursue miracles.”

Outside the teahouse, the wind had died down, and the stars shone exceptionally bright. On this night filled with anticipation, every corner of the town seemed to be silently whispering the same wish—that the explorers would return safely, bringing back a legend that belonged to everyone.

And that unfinished sentence echoed in everyone's heart: "When that day comes, we will welcome them together and witness the most dazzling chapter of this era..."

“You’re right, young lady.” An elderly man sitting in the corner spoke slowly, his voice weak but carrying an undeniable authority. “Their journey is also our shared dream and hope. Behind every legend lies a collision of courage and wisdom, the boundary between the ordinary and the extraordinary.”

"By the way, old man, have you heard of the ancient legends about the 'Weaver of Fate'?" The young scholar suddenly turned to the old man, his eyes sparkling with curiosity. "It is said that the real treasure is not just gold and silver, but more likely some kind of power that can change the world, such as the relics of the 'Weaver of Fate'."

These words stirred up another wave of excitement in the teahouse. People whispered among themselves, discussing the matter animatedly, and the air was thick with a mixture of excitement and unease.

"'The Weaver of Fate'...that's a being from ancient mythology, said to be able to foresee and influence the future," interjected a merchant who frequently traveled the world, his tone filled with awe. "If such relics truly exist, their value far surpasses all the wealth in the world."

“But what if such power falls into the hands of evil people…” The middle-aged woman frowned with worry, a concern shared by many others present.

"Therefore, the burden on our heroes is even heavier." The old blacksmith straightened his back and said firmly, "They are not only treasure hunters, but also guardians, protecting this world from possible disasters."

Just as everyone was engrossed in discussing the possibilities of the future, hurried footsteps suddenly came from outside the door, and a young man rushed into the teahouse, panting, clutching a crumpled piece of paper tightly in his hand.

"Everyone, look at this! An urgent report just came from the post station!" The boy waved the note in his hand, his cheeks flushed from running, but his eyes were full of excitement.

The teahouse owner quickly took the note, unfolded it, and his expression instantly turned serious, tinged with disbelief. He cleared his throat, his voice trembling slightly with tension: "They...they successfully solved the final puzzle and found the treasure! But...but unknown challenges still await them..."

"An unknown challenge?" Everyone exclaimed in unison, their faces filled with tension and anticipation.

"The letter says it's a secret chamber sealed by ancient magic, containing the relics of the 'Weaver of Fate,' and the key to opening it is..." The boss paused deliberately, looked around, and whetted everyone's appetite.

"What is it? Tell us quickly!" the young girl couldn't help but shout, and the others urged her on as well.

“It is… a pure heart and a fearless hope for the future.” The owner read it slowly, and the teahouse fell silent for a moment, followed by a burst of exclamations and discussions.

"This... how is this possible?" The scholar scratched his head, looking somewhat confused.

“Perhaps, true power should not be defined so simply.” The old man’s deep gaze looked out at the starry sky, as if he saw something far more profound. “Perhaps, this is the greatest test for them, to prove whether they are worthy of the power to change the world.”

Night had fallen, but the people in the teahouse were still engaged in a lively discussion, each deeply captivated by the thrilling story. In this small town, everyone's heart was filled with a strange sense of anticipation and hope, as if they themselves had become part of that great adventure.

"Regardless of the outcome, they have already written their own legend," the girl said again, her eyes sparkling. "All we can do is believe and wait for that glorious moment to arrive."

As the last sentence fell, the teahouse returned to silence, but a fire ignited in everyone's heart—a yearning for the unknown, an anticipation of the hero's return. How the impending ending would rewrite their world remained unknown…
