Just as everyone's tense nerves relaxed slightly, the enormous monster had already approached the battlefield. Its wings blotted out the sky, and each flap stirred up a violent storm. The villagers' fear reached its peak in an instant, and some had already begun to sob quietly.
"Calm down, everyone! We haven't lost yet!" The boy's voice was young but firm and strong. "No matter how strong the enemy is, as long as we are united, there is no difficulty we cannot overcome!"
An elderly blacksmith stepped forward from the crowd, his eyes glistening with tears and unwavering determination. "Young man, you're right! Even the strongest steel is made up of countless tiny iron filings. Only by working together can we withstand all of this."
Lilia felt the support of her companions, and although her body was nearing its limit, she still managed to maintain the purifying aura. "I will not fall," her voice was full of strength, "This power of light will guide us to overcome all darkness."
Suddenly, a deafening bugle call rang out from afar, and a neat column of cavalry appeared on the horizon, their banners fluttering in the wind, as if bringing a breath of hope. The leader of the warriors shouted, "Reinforcements have arrived! Rally yourselves, this is our last battle!"
The villagers who had gathered to watch showed expressions of surprise and joy upon seeing the reinforcements arrive. One mother hugged her child tightly, her eyes filled with tears: "Thank goodness! Finally, someone has come to help!"
The man in black robes' expression darkened further upon seeing this: "It seems my opponents are not limited to these. However..." He sneered, "The real threat has only just begun." His hands swiftly formed hand seals, and a bottomless rift appeared in the air, from which more dark creatures emerged, roaring and lunging at everyone.
At this critical moment, the boy stepped forward, his hand flashing with light: "You all step back, let me try out this newly learned secret technique—the Chains of Light!"
As soon as he finished speaking, several golden chains extended from his fingertips, binding the closest monsters. The bound shadow creatures struggled painfully but could not break free of his control.
"Well done!" Samir said excitedly, "But that's not enough to deal with that guy...someone has to tie down his main force."
"Leave it to me!" Rex brandished his greatsword, his entire body seemingly enveloped in burning battle aura. "This time, I won't let you succeed so easily!"
At that moment, the warrior who had just returned joined the battle. His spear streaked across the night sky like a meteor, thrusting straight at the man in black. "Despicable scoundrel! Don't even think about continuing your evil deeds!" he roared, every word filled with murderous intent.
The ordinary people around them were greatly encouraged by this sight. "We can't just stand by!" the blacksmith exclaimed excitedly. "Let's pick up our weapons and protect our families!" He then led the other strong men to the front lines to fight against the evil army.
However, just as the situation was developing in a favorable direction, the black vortex, which had shrunk many times over and was about to disappear, suddenly expanded rapidly again... A pressure several times stronger than before swept over the sky.
Everyone felt a heavy weight on their hearts. The boy frowned, looking at the place where strange changes were taking place: "This won't do... We must find a way to seal the source directly... But... how do we do that?"
"Don't worry too much, kid," the old man who had been silently encouraging him said softly. "Sometimes solving problems doesn't always rely on force. Sometimes a little bit of wisdom can also create miracles."
Hearing this, the boy nodded slightly. "Yes... perhaps I was too fixated on formalities before." Thinking this, he closed his eyes and began quickly considering various potentially effective methods...
At that moment, the enormous demonic beast in the sky became increasingly clear, and it seemed to be making some unusual movements...
"What is it going to do?" a villager asked in terror.
The boy opened his eyes, a sly glint in them: "No matter what... let's prepare for the worst."
"What did you say?" Samir asked, puzzled.
The boy turned to look at everyone, his eyes full of confidence: "I believe that no matter the outcome, as long as our hearts are united, there is no difficulty we cannot overcome! Let's face the final battle of this war!"
Samir smiled slightly and nodded, "Alright, let's face the final moment of this battle together."
In the midst of this tense and fierce dialogue, the monster in the sky finally made a move...
"No matter the outcome, we will fight to the end!" the boy shouted, clenching his fist.
The veteran nodded, his gaze resolute: "No matter what..."
"...Never give up!" The old soldier's voice was steady and powerful. He gripped his spear tightly, his eyes fixed intently ahead. His voice was like a shot of adrenaline, giving everyone present a sense of inexplicable strength.
Suddenly, a gigantic monster descended from the sky, its immense power seemingly causing the earth to tremble. A little elf girl with pointed ears pricked up screamed, "Oh my god! It really came down!" Her voice was filled with barely concealed fear and unease.
At this critical moment of life and death, the young man stepped forward, his hands clenched tightly, his eyes resolute. "Don't be afraid, everyone! The Chains of Light are just the beginning." With that, he once again mobilized the seemingly inexhaustible energy source within him. In an instant, a dazzling light shone forth, almost illuminating the entire night sky.
The blacksmith stopped swinging his axe and looked at the scene before him, his eyes flashing with surprise and admiration. "I never expected this kid to be so brave..." he muttered to himself, before throwing himself back into the fierce battle.
"What are your plans?" Rex asked the boy while fending off the enemy's frenzied attacks, his voice clearly tinged with anxiety.
"I need your help to distract it." The boy replied briefly and immediately began to act. He quickly approached the giant beast that was circling in the air, and just as he was about to reach the best position, he suddenly leaped up, his body turning into a dazzling bolt of lightning as he shot straight at the target—the head of the giant beast!
The villagers who witnessed this scene were stunned. "How could this be... wasn't this child too impulsive?!" Whispers rippled through the crowd.
But what happened next shocked everyone even more: several brighter and thicker golden chains appeared out of thin air and successfully secured the massive body. Instantly, the air was filled with the atmosphere of a prelude to victory, and everyone was thrilled.
However, the good times didn't last long. When the man in black noticed this, he sneered and said, "What an interesting little thing, but that's about it."
The words had barely left his lips when he flicked his finger, snapping two of the chains; at the same time, the previously suppressed dark forces began to regroup...
Samir frowned deeply: "Something's wrong! Something's not right!"
Seeing that the situation was once again extremely critical, the mysterious warrior mentioned earlier suddenly shouted: "Listen up, everyone! Concentrate your firepower on that man and don't give him any chance to fight back!"
Upon hearing this, everyone responded to the call and moved to the main threat. Even those who were usually timid and fearful showed extraordinary courage and fearlessness. The scene was spectacular and exhilarating.
Just when everything seemed to be turning around, a voice suddenly shattered the harmonious atmosphere:
"Hey guys! Hey! Don't just focus on fighting, I have a question I'd like to ask you!"
The sudden words drew everyone's attention. They turned to look at the source of the sound and saw an ordinary-looking young man who appeared to have no fighting ability standing leisurely in the distance, smiling and waving. He carried a strange package on his back, and his whole demeanor exuded an unusual aura.
"Who is this guy? Why is he suddenly showing up and causing trouble?" someone muttered under their breath.
Ignoring the surrounding skepticism, the young man continued in a gentle yet earnest tone, "Does anyone here know how to completely eliminate these dark creatures and control their core power? If you can help answer this question, I might be able to offer some very useful advice or tools."
Many people looked thoughtful upon hearing this. The young man glanced at the man slightly, a barely perceptible smile appearing on his lips, and then loudly replied, "If you really have the ability to help us, then hurry up and say it; time is of the essence."
The other person nodded to indicate that they understood, then took out an ancient scroll from their robes and spread it out on the ground, explaining, "This is a long-lost ancient magical text, which is said to record the complete steps and a list of related materials needed to seal such evil beings."
The villagers gathered in a circle, curiously examining the precious document. The atmosphere gradually became solemn, as if a glimmer of hope had been ignited in everyone's heart...
“However…” the young man paused, then added, “performing this ritual may require us to make some significant sacrifices…”
