Answer to Chapter 140

"Look over there!" Sam pointed to the faint light peeking through the valley floor, his voice trembling slightly with excitement. "Is that... the answer we've been searching for?"

Following his gaze, they indeed saw a ray of light, distinct from the surrounding darkness, flickering in the heart of the Valley of Despair, as if beckoning them.

“Let’s go, let’s take a closer look.” Hope led the way, and the group cautiously descended the rugged path. Along the way, jagged rocks and strange plants occasionally stretched out their vines, as if they were living creatures probing these intruders.

"These plants...they're moving!" Amy exclaimed, jumping lightly to avoid the green tentacles that were wrapping around her.

"Stay alert, everything here could be a hazard," Hope warned, as she took a bottle of shimmering liquid from her backpack and dripped it onto the overly active plants. Instantly, they shrank back, as if afraid of the light.

The closer they got to the light, the more eerie the surroundings became, yet the atmosphere within the group was unexpectedly heavy and focused. Finally, they arrived at the source of the light—an altar surrounded by ancient runes.

"This is... the key to sealing an ancient being?" Jack circled the altar in disbelief, his hand gently brushing against the runes that emitted a faint glow.

Leah gently stroked the altar, a complex expression flashing in her eyes. "This place contains powerful magical energy, but we still need to find a way to use it to seal that being."

Just as everyone was discussing this, the ground suddenly trembled slightly, and an old and dignified voice came from all directions: "You have finally arrived, long-awaited visitors."

"Who is it? Show yourself!" Sam looked around nervously, waving his torch in the air, but he couldn't catch any shape.

"I am the memory of this land, and its guardian. For a long time, I have been waiting for a capable and enlightened warrior to come here." The voice spoke slowly, carrying the weight of time and expectation.

“Guardian, please tell us how we can use this altar to seal that ancient being,” Hope asked calmly, his voice echoing in the empty valley, sounding exceptionally firm.

"The method of sealing requires the gathering of five elemental hearts, as well as a brave, fearless, and loving soul as a guide. Is there any among you willing to shoulder this heavy responsibility?" The guardian's tone was gentle yet profound.

The group exchanged glances, and finally, Hope's gaze settled on each team member. Their expressions varied, but all revealed trust and determination.

"I do." Hope's words were simple and resolute, yet they stirred up waves within the team. In everyone's eyes, besides shock, there was even more admiration and support.

“Mr. Hope, this is too dangerous!” Amy said urgently, but her eyes shone with determination. Clearly, although she was worried, she was also prepared to follow him to the end.

“Nothing is off-limits for the sake of light and peace,” Hope replied with a smile that contained both fearlessness for the future and deep trust in her companions.

"Then, how do we find the Heart of the Elements?" Jack asked impatiently, already prepared to act immediately.

"The Hearts of the Elements are scattered across the four corners of the continent, each representing the power of water, fire, earth, and wind. Only by truly understanding and mastering these elemental powers will the Hearts of the Elements respond to your call," the Guardian explained.

“Let’s set off immediately and split up to search,” Leah suggested, her voice carrying an undeniable determination.

"But before we set off, Guardian, could you give us some guidance or tools to help us find the Heart of the Elements more quickly?" Sam asked hopefully.

"Of course." As the guardian spoke, four treasures shimmering with different colored lights appeared on the altar, each corresponding to one of the four elements. "With these, they will guide you to the corresponding elemental hearts. But remember, every power must be wielded with wisdom and courage."

Everyone solemnly accepted their treasures, a sense of unprecedented mission welling up within them. Hope glanced one last time at the altar.
