Aiden and the others were on edge, their eyes filled with determination and resolve. As the oppressive force drew closer, a figure dressed in a black robe and wearing a black mask slowly entered their line of sight.
"Vester!" a soldier exclaimed, his voice filled with fear and anger. The name served as a wake-up call, instantly igniting hatred and vigilance in everyone present.
Case turned his head slightly to look at Aiden beside him and said in a low voice, "Sir, may I make a move to test the waters first? Perhaps we can find some weaknesses in him." Aiden nodded in agreement.
The northern warrior straightened up and stepped forward, saying, "Eye of Darkness! Now that you're here, don't leave so easily. Let's settle our scores on this battlefield."
Upon hearing this, the villagers who had been watching began to whisper among themselves:
"This guy actually dares to challenge the leader of the evil forces? That's truly courageous!" a strong young man exclaimed in admiration.
The woman beside her looked very worried, "But isn't this too risky... what if..."
Before he could finish speaking, West gave a cold laugh and said casually, "Heh, courage is certainly commendable, but if you only know how to blindly fight without being good at assessing the situation, you will only become a foolish cannon fodder."
A thick, iron-like chill filled the air, as if the entire world had frozen in the tension of their verbal exchange. However, just as the tension reached its peak, the silver-masked knight, who had been standing silently to the side for a long time, suddenly stepped forward and interjected:
"Whatever the outcome, we must face the challenge. Case, just proceed according to the original plan, I will take care of your safety." He stated firmly and forcefully.
At that moment, Sofia stepped forward and stopped Leah, who was about to rush out. "Calm down. We need to unite and work together to fight this powerful enemy, not fight alone." She turned to face everyone and continued to encourage them: "Comrades, let's fight side by side and never let this beautiful land fall into the clutches of evil!"
Amidst the impassioned speeches, the entire squad's morale soared. They quickly formed ranks, preparing for the impending battle. From afar, West, seeing this, curled a sinister smile: "Very good, very good. It seems tonight is destined to be an unforgettable night... I hope you won't regret making this choice."
Then, with a gentle wave of his hands, countless shadows surged forth, forming a massive vortex that rushed towards Aiden and the others...
Meanwhile, Case was already poised to strike, his figure moving like lightning between darkness and light to find the best angle to attack, while the others worked closely together to form an unbreakable defensive line to resist the enemy's offensive.
Just as the clash between the two forces was about to erupt, a dazzling light suddenly lit up the night sky. Immediately afterwards, a meteor streaked across the silent night, hurtling towards the battlefield...
Just as everyone was looking up at this magnificent sight, completely absorbed, a distant yet clear voice rang in their ears:
"Friends, please cease your battle for now. I am one of the guardian stars—the messenger of Lightel—who has come to aid you in your fight against evil..."
The shooting star drew ever closer in the night sky, its light shining exceptionally brightly against the darkness. The moment it struck the ground, its light scattered, illuminating the entire battlefield. To everyone's astonishment, a figure radiating a soft silver glow appeared before them, as if from outer space.
"Lighttel? Guardian of the Stars? What's going on here?" Case looked at the mysterious newcomer warily.
West, clearly unprepared for this turn of events, narrowed his eyes at the messenger, seemingly assessing the newcomer's intentions and strength. "Hmph, guardians of the stars… you always love to meddle in the disputes of us mortals. Do you intend to change the course of events this time as well?"
A commotion arose among the onlookers:
"My God, someone really fell from the sky?" a boy exclaimed in disbelief.
The old village chief, stroking his beard, sighed, "Has the legendary guardian star finally appeared? Perhaps it is the good fortune that our village has accumulated over the years that has brought us protection."
Another villager, his face filled with excitement and curiosity, said, "He doesn't look like a bad person. Could he really be here to help us?"
Aiden stepped forward and asked, "Respected Envoy Lightol, what do you mean by that?"
The silver-glowing figure nodded slightly and explained to Aiden, "Long ago, when the forces of darkness eroded this world, my race fought alongside humans against evil. Today, sensing the anomaly on this land, we decided to come and investigate. Now, having seen it with our own eyes, we know it is indeed so—Lord Vester, please give up the resistance. Your actions not only harm the innocent but also betray justice."
Upon hearing this, the surrounding air grew even heavier, as if even breathing became difficult. Sofia whispered to her friend Leah beside her, "This person speaks as if it's the truth. Hopefully, what he says will give us a glimmer of hope."
At this moment, West chuckled coldly, "Ha, do you think a mere guardian star can turn the tide?" His words were full of disdain, and at the same time, his hands quickly formed hand seals again, "Since you're here, don't leave. Taste the power of darkness!" As he spoke, a black whirlwind appeared out of thin air, frantically sweeping towards all living beings.
Instead of retreating, the envoy of Lightel raised his right arm to block in front of him, and a shield-like energy barrier condensed in his hand to resist the first wave of attacks. "Everyone, do not panic. Please follow my steps. I will buy you more time to find a way to defeat the enemy."
Just as the two sides were locked in a stalemate, more reinforcements arrived from the outer perimeter. It turned out that other villages and towns nearby had heard news of the battle and were rushing to help.
"Hold on, brothers! We're not fighting alone!"
"Hey, let me see what the legendary evil demon looks like..."
The situation on the battlefield was now more complex and volatile, with conversations and mutual encouragement among soldiers audible from every corner. Aiden, positioned in the center, gripped his weapon tightly and took a deep breath: "Everyone, get ready. Proceed with the tactics we discussed earlier."
Just as everyone was about to launch their charge, the messenger of Light turned to look at the approaching army in the distance and murmured to himself in a voice only his companions could hear:
"The outcome of this battle will profoundly impact future developments... but I believe that no matter how difficult the road ahead, as long as we hold onto the light and never give up, victory will ultimately belong to those who fight for justice."
He then turned to face everyone and announced, "This is the last chance. Follow my lead and let's meet the challenge!"
As these inspiring words fell, deafening shouts and the clanging of clashing weapons immediately filled the battlefield. But the story was far from over; an even more exciting and intense battle was just beginning...
"Hurry up and keep up! You never know what will happen next!" Aiden shouted as he rushed to the front lines.
"Wait, what kind of changes did that meteor bring us?" a soldier asked, puzzled.
"Let's deal with the immediate crisis first before we talk about anything else!" Case shouted back.
At the same time, a strange smile flickered in West's eyes...
"Heh...it seems tonight will indeed be an unforgettable night..."
