"Who the hell are you calling a brat?"
Lin An was furious and asked two questions in a row.
"What kind of attitude is that? I'm your mother!" Zhang Wanru shouted fearlessly, overestimating her authority as a mother.
Caught between the two sides, the restaurant manager was caught in a dilemma. He couldn't just stand by and watch Lin An, waiting for the big client to make arrangements.
Lin An's face was icy as he waved his hand at the manager: "Let them in."
Upon receiving instructions, the manager immediately slipped away to the side and joined the others in the restaurant to watch the drama unfold.
Without any obstruction, Zhang Wanru, enraged to the point of madness, shot out like an arrow, rushing towards Lin An. She wanted to grab Lin An and ask him who gave birth to him and why he dared to speak to her like that.
Lin Wan tried to pull her away, but it was too late.
Lin Rou followed Zhang Wanru aggressively, demanding an explanation.
With a "slap," Lin An's hand landed on Zhang Wanru's face, and she stopped in her tracks.
Everything happened too fast. Something unexpected happened: Lin An actually took action and slapped Zhang Wanru, his own mother.
Actually, Lin An had held back when he slapped her, but Zhang Wanru never expected her own son to dare to lay a hand on her. Her heartache was greater than the pain of her face. She looked at Lin An in utter shock, stumbled, and fell backward, taking Lin Rou with her to the ground.
Lin Wan breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, Lin Rou was there to cushion the blow, so Zhang Wanru wouldn't be seriously injured.
Zhang Wanru sat on the ground, covering her face, tears streaming down her face.
Lin An looked down at Zhang Wanru at his feet and said calmly, "Can you speak properly now?"
"You, you actually dared to hit me." Zhang Wanru was still in shock from being hit.
"Lin An, are you crazy? We are the people related to you by blood. Why do you have the right to spend so much money to bring outsiders here to spend money?"
Lin Rou sat on the ground, loudly questioning Lin An without regard for her image; her focus was always on money.
Lin An sneered a few times: "So what if we're related by blood? I've long since cut ties with you all. Besides, they're not outsiders; they're my family."
Zhang Wanru glared at Tong Jiaojiao and retorted, "She's your family? You actually treat her like family."
She looked up at Lin An again and continued her tirade: "A woman who wears a fake bracelet and is extremely hypocritical, are you going to treat her as your mother?"
Lin An squatted down, looked directly at Zhang Wanru, and said, word by word, "Aunt Tong is my family, and I gave her the bracelet."
"What? What did you say? Do you know that I also have the same bracelet? You gave her a fake one just to embarrass me?"
"You're overthinking it. I just wanted to make Aunt Tong happy. Besides, this isn't a fake; it's the real thing."
"Impossible! I don't believe it! That's my family's heirloom jewelry!" Zhang Wanru stared in astonishment, forgetting to shed tears.
Lin An opened his phone, pulled up the payment records, and held them up to Zhang Wanru's face, saying:
“I didn’t know it was your family heirloom when I bought it, but Lin Wan told me later, so I found out. Since you were so short of money that you pawned it, and I thought it was nice, it’s normal for me to spend money to buy it as a gift.”
Zhang Wanru stared at Lin An's payment page, looking at it several times, almost collapsing. She muttered to herself, "Ten million. My son spent ten million to buy my ancestral jewelry for Tong Jiaojiao."
Tong Jiaojiao, who was standing to the side, was also astonished when she heard the price and whispered, "My God, it's so expensive!"
He raised his hand to take the bracelet off and return it to Lin An, but Leng Feng pressed it down, saying in a deep voice:
“He said we are family, and it’s time to support him.”
Tong Jiaojiao withdrew her hand. At this moment, what Lin An needed most was the support of his family.
At this moment, Leng Lin looked like a little fighting rooster. She was ready. If the Lin family dared to make a move, the strong girl would not be polite. With her current strength, she could easily break Lin Rou's thin arm.
Zhang Wanru's face turned pale as she watched helplessly as her ancestral jewelry was placed on someone else's hand. She burst into tears.
"Son, how could you do this to me?"
Lin An stood up and said coldly, "Don't call me son anymore. I've told you that many times."
Do you hate me that much?
"Don't you think I should be angry with you?"
Lin An looked down at Zhang Wanru, who seemed on the verge of collapse: "As a mother, you were so busy shopping that you forgot about your own child, leaving me, a two-year-old, lost in the mall. Isn't that hateful?"
"Your own son has been missing for so many years, and instead of looking for him, you bring in an adopted son to raise. Aren't you hateful?"
"Your long-lost son has finally come home, and instead of treating me well, you worry about your adopted son being neglected, so you are indifferent to me and target me at every turn. Aren't you hateful?"
"Between your adopted son and your biological son, you always choose your adopted son, even at the cost of severing ties with me. Don't you hate me?"
"To give birth and not raise is worse than being an animal."
Lin An's every word was like a sharp knife piercing Zhang Wanru. Her face grew paler and paler. She tried to find excuses for herself, but couldn't find a single word to refute. Every word Lin An said was true. This was what her own mother had done to her own son.
She could only collapse on the ground, crying incessantly.
Lin Rou wanted to say something in defense of her mother, but she couldn't find the right words either, and she was so anxious that she scratched her head.
Although Lin Wan felt sorry for her mother, she didn't think about defending Zhang Wanru at all, considering the grievances Lin An had suffered before. She stood aside and silently shed tears.
"Lin An, that's enough!"
Lin Zhe stepped forward with a righteous air and helped up Zhang Wanru, who was in tears: "Mom, you still have me."
Zhang Wanru clung to Lin Zhe's hand as if it were a lifeline; at least she still had her adopted son, her beloved adopted son was still by her side.
"Xiao Zhe, be good, you're all Mommy has left."
Lin Rou also stood up, and the three of them supported each other and hugged each other.
Lin An felt more disgusted than if he had swallowed a fly by their united front against a common enemy.
"Get out of my sight right now, and that's the end of today."
Lin Zhe wanted to prove to his mother and sisters his reliability as the only son of the Lin family, so he confronted Lin An and reasoned with him:
"Your mother carried you for ten months and gave birth to you. No matter what she did, she still owes you the debt of giving birth to you. Not only did you hit her, but you also blamed her in front of others. Doesn't your conscience hurt?"
Lin An laughed in exasperation: "Oh, so your adopted son's here to back you up? Trying to morally blackmail me again?"
Zhang Wanru and Lin Zhe, you can't leave so easily today. Let everyone see how unbreakable your mother-son bond is. With this thought in mind, Lin An also wanted the Lin family to get out of here now.
