Chapter 85 Wasting Resources

"Wang Qi, give me back my money! Wang Qi, give me back my money!" the boy kept shouting.

Seeing the crowd's doubts and his extremely grim expression, Master Wang knew he couldn't convince them without demonstrating his true abilities. He then walked to the tree, pointed at the boy in the tree, and roared:

"Stop talking nonsense. Get down here now and I'll spare your life. If you keep talking, don't blame me for taking action."

The boy made a slight smirk and retorted, "If you don't pay me back, I'll keep shouting and see who loses face."

Master Wang frowned, his eyes flashing with a fierce light. He put two fingers together, muttered incantations, and then gestured in the air towards the boy, as if casting some kind of spell.

Soon, Master Wang relaxed and chuckled coldly a few times.

The boy in the tree immediately shut his mouth, his eyes glazed over, and he started grinning foolishly as he looked ahead.

Suddenly, the boy started climbing back and forth on the tree trunk like a monkey, using both his hands and feet. Everyone was terrified, fearing that he would fall from the tree and get hurt.

Master Wang, however, appeared completely relaxed, a slight smile playing on his lips. He pointed at the boy and said, "Down!"

As soon as Master Wang uttered those words, the boy seemed to receive a command and quickly climbed down from the tree.

Master Wang looked at the boy with great interest and said, "Gnaw!"

The boy kept pulling at the tree and started gnawing on the bark.

Everyone was shocked. Was this the consequence of offending a master? No wonder he was a master; he truly had real skills.

Like the other believers, Yang Li looked at Master Wang with reverence.

Xu Mo turned his head and asked Lin An in a low voice, "What's going on? What kind of magic is this? It's so powerful that it can control people."

"It shouldn't be some kind of magic, it's probably some kind of drug." Lin An said through gritted teeth. The few times Master Wang flicked his fingers in the air just now, he must have sprinkled some hallucinogens on the boy, instantly paralyzing his nerves and causing him to lose control of his consciousness.

At this point, the boy's hands were already chafed by the tree bark, with traces of blood seeping out. He had already gnawed off a large piece of bark and was chewing it in his mouth.

Still not satisfied, Master Wang held up his shoe to the boy's face and said, "Lick it!"

The boy spat out the tree bark from his mouth and stuck out his tongue.

"Wang Qi, that's enough!" Lin An roared, stepped forward, and walked into the courtyard.

He couldn't stand it anymore; what kind of skill is it to bully children?

Lin An grew up in an orphanage. Such places are nothing like the warm and peaceful scenes depicted on TV. A few teachers look after dozens of children, and there are many areas that cannot be taken care of. Those places are the territory of the strong preying on the weak. The big bully the small, the tall bully the short, and the strong bully the weak. He had long been accustomed to injustice and oppression.

Lin An, who used to tremble in the dark with no one to protect him, now has this child right in front of him, and he absolutely cannot let that bastard Wang Qi bully him.

Upon seeing that the visitor was Lin An, Master Wang laughed heartily, "He's finally here."

He took a few steps closer to Lin An and said with a sinister smile, "I thought you ran away with the treasure. It seems you still care about your ancestors."

"It really was you!"

"Ah, it was just a few disciples' good intentions," Master Wang said casually about blowing up someone's ancestral grave.

Lin An was furious: "So you're admitting it?"

"So what if you admit it, or so what if you don't? Do you have any evidence? What can you do to me?" Master Wang shrugged, spread his hands, and looked fearless.

Lin An looked around and saw that everyone present was his follower and the conference staff. Both sides understood that this was Master Wang's territory, and the situation was very unfavorable for Lin An.

Master Wang said smugly, "You want to play the hero and protect this child? Fine! I'll give you a chance. As long as you give me those two lightning-struck wooden beads, I'll remove the spell on him and let you go."

"Don't even dream about it, I've already used those two beads."

"What? What do you mean by 'used'? What did you do?" Master Wang asked, looking puzzled.

"I ground it into powder and used it," Lin An said casually.

Master Wang was furious and roared, "What a waste!"

Master Wang was so angry at the thought of such valuable treasures and so much money being wasted by Lin An that he spun around in circles.

Turning his head, he saw the stunned boy, and Master Wang grabbed a handful of pebbles, yelling angrily, "Eat!"

Swallowing such a large pebble is no joke.

Lin An panicked and shouted, "Don't touch him! If you've got the guts, come at me! Do you dare to fight me?"

"Heh, you? What are you going to compete in?" Master Wang withdrew his hand and asked with a sneer.

Before Lin An could speak, a short old man ran in. He was wearing a windbreaker and carrying a backpack, looking travel-worn. He bumped into Master Wang and came to the boy's side.

"Xiao Bao, Xiao Bao, what's wrong?" the old man asked anxiously.

"He's probably been given hallucinogens; he needs to get to the hospital right away," Lin An replied.

Master Wang was exposed to his face and lost face, so he immediately retorted:

“You little brat, stop spouting nonsense. There’s no such thing as hallucinogens. Everyone saw it. This kid framed me, so I used a spell to warn him. Only I can break my spells. If you kowtow and apologize on behalf of that kid, I might consider lifting the spell.”

As he spoke, the old man took out a small box of powder from the side pocket of his backpack, dipped his finger in it, and smeared it under the child's nose.

"Grandpa, what brings you here?" The boy had just woken up when Master Wang finished speaking.

Master Wang was taken aback and asked in surprise, "Awake?"

That was Indian hallucinogen that I got from a smuggler. Even if I went to the hospital, I would need to be on an IV drip for two days to fully wake up. Who is this old man?

As for the spell he just mentioned about dispelling magic, it didn't exist at all; he simply wanted to see Lin An kneel down and admit his mistake.

Lin An was also taken aback. Only then did he take a closer look at the person's appearance. A round face, plain features, and thick glasses. Wasn't this the divine doctor Lu Miao? He had searched high and low without finding him, but he had found him without any effort.

Lin An had been looking for this person for a long time. Ever since he noticed Leng Lin's unusual behavior, he had been trying to find an expert to answer his questions and had searched for a long time on various online forums and message boards.

Following a suggestion from a netizen, he was told that there was a miracle doctor in Haishi who he could ask. The doctor was named Lu Miao. However, Lu Miao's whereabouts were unpredictable. He was often in the mountains looking for medicinal herbs. The professionals Lin An had hired could not find him and only provided Lin An with a few photos of the miracle doctor to complete the task.

Lu Miao breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that the child was alright. He grabbed the child's hand and slapped it twice: "You little rascal, why are you running around like that? You scared me to death."

Fortunately, the receptionist and security guards at the entrance were led to the backyard, which allowed Lu Miao to enter smoothly to find his child.

Xiao Bao pouted, blinked, and a few tears fell from his eyes. He said in a wronged voice, "Grandpa, I was wrong."

"I'm so glad you're alright." Lu Miao hugged Xiao Bao with heartache.

When Xiao Bao saw Master Wang, he realized what was happening and said, "Grandpa, avenge me! He bullied me and Grandma Liu! Avenge me quickly!"
