Chapter 358 Unfamiliar

358

In just one afternoon, both heads of the Shen family conglomerate were gone.

The head butler screamed, "The old master is gone too?"

The maid nodded.

As she nodded, Old Mrs. Shen closed her eyes and nestled into Ah Ling's arms.

Ah Ling looked down and, before anyone could react, pulled the person into her arms, blocking the smile that Old Mrs. Shen couldn't hide from her lips.

The head butler, accompanied by four assistant butlers, rushed to the room of Old Master Shen and Shen Ding, only to find that the two had indeed left.

You can't tell anything from the outside, just like you've already said it.

No wonder no one noticed all afternoon.

The family doctor rushed over with his medicine kit, gave him a quick check-up, and said, "It's probably an acute myocardial infarction."

The head butler asked in surprise, "Both of them?"

The family doctor nodded.

The head butler didn't believe it. "Send it for an autopsy."

A group of people were carrying the corpse out the door.

However, they were stopped at the door by Old Mrs. Shen and her entourage.

The head housekeeper looked at the Shen family members, who hadn't visited in years, with a puzzled expression. "Grandma, what's this?"

Grandma Shen did not answer, but instead lowered her head to talk to the legal team.

The head butler was increasingly puzzled; this legal team was not the one he had summoned at noon.

Grandma Shen signed her name for several minutes before putting down her pen.

The legal team packed a pile of documents into their briefcases and stood up. "We'll work overtime to finish this right now."

"Okay. Go ahead!"

After the legal team left.

The head butler stepped forward again, "Old lady..."

Grandma Shen ignored him again, this time looking at her family members, "I originally invited you here because of a happy occasion, but I didn't expect to encounter such an accident."

Grandma Shen's nephew stepped forward and took her arm. "What's the good news?"

Mrs. Shen said, "I only found out recently that I gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl."

The crowd erupted in uproar.

Mrs. Shen said, “My daughter was stolen at birth and later abandoned by bad people. Fortunately, she was found and raised by someone. Some time ago, her adoptive mother passed away and told her about her origins, and that’s when she found me. We have already done a paternity test, and she is my daughter.”

The nephew, however, felt that Old Mrs. Shen had been deceived. "How did she find you?"

Mrs. Shen said, “I know you think it’s absurd. I thought so at first too, until I saw her photos. From her infancy to college and now, she looks so much like me.”

Nephew, "You still haven't told me how she found you?"

Mrs. Shen said, "They've been to the Shen family before."

My nephew still didn't believe it. "In this vast world, it's not surprising that people can look alike."

Grandma Shen frowned and brushed her nephew's hand away. "I believe the results of the paternity test."

The nephew was brushed aside, knowing that it was Old Mrs. Shen who was dissatisfied with his questioning.

But it was already suspicious to begin with!

Grandma Shen said, "Let's take a few strands of Grandpa's hair and do a paternity test later. Two test results will definitely shut up any doubters."

Ah Ling stepped forward and took a lock of hair from Old Master Shen.

Seeing that her nephew was about to say something, Old Mrs. Shen said, "If you don't believe these things, then use the blood sample that Old Master stored in the hospital to test its authenticity!"

Someone pushed Mrs. Shen's nephew from behind, signaling him not to cause trouble and upset the old lady.

Nephew, "And what about your daughter?"

Grandma Shen glanced at her watch and realized it was almost time. "We've arrived."

A group of people turned to look at the door. Shi Baozhu, supported by Shi Feilong, slowly walked in.

Shi Baozhu's emotions were initially quite stable, but she lost her composure after seeing Old Madam Shen clearly.

The feeling of meeting someone in person is completely different from seeing them through a video on a phone.

Grandma Shen's eyes immediately welled up with tears when she saw Shi Baozhu, and she opened her arms wide, calling out, "Baozhu!"

Shi Baozhu threw herself into her arms.

Apart from Shi Feilong, everyone present still felt like they were dreaming.

The head butler, steeling himself, stepped forward to interrupt the two, "Madam, the cause of death of the old master and the head of the family is very suspicious. Shall we send them for an autopsy first?"

Grandma Shen released Shi Baozhu and put her arm around her shoulder instead, saying, "We should have welcomed you back properly, but now your father and brother have both passed away suddenly from acute myocardial infarction. We can only help with their funeral arrangements first. I hope you can understand."

Shi Baozhu nodded, indicating her understanding.

Grandma Shen looked at Shi Feilong, "This is your first day back in the Shen family. I'll leave your grandfather's funeral arrangements to you. Go!"

The men brought by Shi Feilong immediately took over the care of Old Master Shen and Shen Ding.

The head butler said, "I'll go with... the young master."

Grandma Shen interrupted him, "No need, you can all stay. I have something to ask you to do."

Shi Feilong and his men left in a hurry.

The head housekeeper asked, "Grandma, is there anything you need us to do?"

Grandma Shen said, "Tell Shen Qianyuan to come back!"

Shen Qianyuan is the heir to the Shen family conglomerate, so he should indeed be notified first when something like this happens.

The head housekeeper, however, sensed something was amiss; the old lady had never addressed Shen Qianyuan by his full name.

Although Old Mrs. Shen rarely saw Shen Qianyuan after moving to the manor, she would still call him "Little Yuan" every time she mentioned him.

Calling someone by their full name now always feels a bit distant.

Grandma Shen said, "Let's set up the mourning hall as well."

Head butler, "The old lady?"

Grandma Shen said, "No matter what the outcome, the funeral must still be held."

That's true.

The head butler nodded. "Any other instructions?"

"You just need to prepare the mourning hall and the cemetery; Feilong can handle the rest."

Flying dragon?

Shen Qianyuan?

Now, not only the head butler, but everyone else sensed something unusual.

When Grandma Shen called Shi Feilong's name, it was with a hint of affection.

There was a hint of disgust in his address to Shen Qianyuan.

What's going on?

Even if Shi Feilong is found, Shen Qianyuan will still be his grandson, right?

Could it be that Shen Qianyuan didn't come back to visit because he was sick and hospitalized this time?

Thinking of this, the head steward dared not delay any longer and prepared to notify Shen Qianyuan to return.

However, the call to Shen Qianyuan did not go through.

Grandma Shen couldn't wait any longer, so she called with her own phone, but no one answered.

No one answered when I tried to video call them.

"Alright, let's go set up the mourning hall first!"

The head housekeeper secretly sent several messages to Shen Qianyuan, asking him to reply to Old Madam Shen.

A few minutes later, Shen Qianyuan returned the video call.

Shen Qianyuan appeared on the phone with a bruised and swollen face, startling Old Mrs. Shen. "What happened?"

Shen Qianyuan put on a pitiful look, "Grandma, you have to help me."

What a load of nonsense! Seeing you like this makes me incredibly happy.

Grandma Shen forced a look of concern, "What's wrong?"
