Chapter 23 A fellow patient wanted Yu Cheng, this rich and handsome husband.

twenty three

Yu Cheng met Prime Minister Ou outside Jian Yu's ward.

Ou Xiang was holding a cup of coffee. When he saw Yu Cheng, he waved it and said, "Here's your favorite iced Americano."

Yu Cheng waved his hand, pushed open the door first, and prepared to enter the ward.

As soon as he opened the door a crack, a chubby little boy in yellow darted past him, nearly hitting Yu Cheng in the face with the takeout he was holding high.

Yu Cheng instinctively took two steps back to avoid being accidentally injured.

The chubby boy smiled sheepishly, "Excuse me, can I pass by?"

After saying that, he went into the ward. "Bed 58, your takeout is here."

58 beds?

It's a simple takeout.

Yu Cheng peeked over and saw the chubby boy standing beside bed 58. Because the chubby boy was quite large, Jian Yu was completely hidden by his figure, so Yu Cheng could not see him and had to take a few steps forward.

Gao Hui's mother is not here; she must have already gone back.

Jian Yu sat on the hospital bed, wearing an oversized hospital gown, her head slightly lowered, her disheveled hair hanging down, obscuring her vision, revealing only the lower half of her small face.

The chubby boy deftly placed the takeout on the small table by the hospital bed. His hands were very fair and delicate. Yu Cheng watched those hands waving back and forth in front of Jian Yu, which made Jian Yu's sallow complexion and pale lips appear even more bloodless.

"Alright, enjoy your meal. I wish you a speedy recovery." The chubby boy waved to Jian Yu with a smile.

Jian Yu gently looked up, "Thank you!"

"You're welcome, please give me a five-star review!"

The chubby boy left the ward satisfied after seeing Jian Yu nod.

After the chubby boy left, Jian Yu lowered his head and began to eat. He had been hungry all day, and his stomach couldn't take it anymore.

If it weren't for an upset stomach, Jian Yu wouldn't have ordered takeout.

Yu Cheng stood at the foot of the bed next to Jian Yu's. Jian Yu didn't look closely and assumed that it was a relative or friend of the patient in the next bed visiting him, so he didn't pay any attention.

Yu Cheng stood there, watching Jian Yu eat a few bites of vegetables and drink half a bowl of porridge, without even saying hello, and began to frown slightly.

Ou Xiang coughed, as if to remind Jian Yu.

Unexpectedly, the noise only attracted the attention of the other two patients. Jian Yu didn't even look up, gently closed the takeout lid, lay down, and fell asleep.

Ou Xiang glanced at Yu Cheng, as if he really couldn't see him.

Yu Cheng then stepped forward and found that Jian Yu was already asleep.

Her breathing was somewhat heavy, possibly due to discomfort caused by pneumonia; Jianyu's hand was still resting on her throat.

Yu Cheng stood there for a while, then turned and walked out. Ou Xiang quickly followed, asking, "Where are you going?"

"Go find a doctor and ask about Jian Yu's condition."

Ou Xiang stretched out a hand, blocking Yu Cheng's way. "I'm giving you the information. Haven't you looked at it yet?"

Yu Cheng nodded honestly, "I haven't had time yet."

Ou Xiang nodded. "I guessed it. I've already asked the doctor for a simplified copy of the medical record on behalf of a family member, scanned it, and sent it to your email."

Yu Cheng turned around and sat on a bench in the corridor, starting to check his email on his phone.

After reading it, Yu Cheng remained silent for a long time until Prime Minister Ou called him, at which point he began to mutter to himself, "How could he have been malnourished for so long?"

Prime Minister Ou understood his confusion and patted him on the shoulder, which was his answer.

Families like theirs all have nutritionists, so even if they don't eat to lose weight, they won't suffer from malnutrition.

Moreover, Jianyu was previously in a stage of growth where it needed a lot of nutrition.

Having lived in the Yu family for over three years, even if they were malnourished before, they should have recovered by now.

Unless, no one in the Yu family takes care of her health.

Perhaps, even a normal diet cannot be guaranteed.

The Yu family always had a sumptuous meal, and as long as they ate normally, they would not suffer from malnutrition.

Yu Cheng rubbed his temples, unable to believe that someone in the Yu family was suffering from chronic malnutrition.

Seeing that Yu Cheng was very distressed, Ou Xiang suggested, "Why don't you go back and ask your parents? Jian Yu came to the hospital a while ago, and your parents seemed to be there too. They should know about Jian Yu's situation."

"Impossible! If Jian Yu's health were that bad, my parents wouldn't abandon her." Yu Cheng subconsciously denied it.

Understanding that his friend was finding it hard to accept the fact that his parents were mistreating his sister, Ou Xiang had no choice but to change the subject, "Should we help find a caregiver?"

Yu Cheng nodded, "I'll have Aunt Li come over."

As he spoke, he took out his phone and called Aunt Li.

Aunt Li received the call and hesitated, "Young Master, this... you need to talk to Madam first. I can only go if Madam agrees."

Yu Cheng was taken aback, not expecting Aunt Li to refuse.

As far as I can remember, when Yu Yao and Yu Ze were sick, Aunt Li would volunteer to take care of them without Qi Yuexi having to ask.

When it was Jian Yu's turn, even Yu Cheng's personal phone call to give instructions was useless.

"You're unwilling?" Yu Cheng asked.

"It's not that I'm unwilling, but without Madam's instructions, I cannot do anything for Miss Jane."

"Why?" Yu Cheng already had the answer in his heart, but he insisted on hearing what Aunt Li had to say.

Aunt Li sighed, "Young Master, please don't make things difficult for me. Madam won't let me go to the hospital."

After a long silence, Yu Cheng hung up the phone first.

After hanging up the phone, Yu Cheng stood up and left the hospital.

Ou Xiang also left with him.

After the two left, the ward door opened, and Jian Yu stood weakly at the door, looking at the end of the corridor. Was it really just a hallucination?

I vaguely heard someone mention her name, and the voice sounded a lot like Yu Cheng.

Despite knowing it was impossible, Jian Yu still forced herself to endure the discomfort and went out to check.

Yu Cheng was not found.

The old lady in the same ward saw Jian Yu standing at the ward door for a while before turning back and asking curiously, "Who are those two men to you? Judging from their clothes, they seem like rich people!"

"Two men? What do they look like?" I realized I hadn't misheard.

"Both of them were over 1.8 meters tall, one was wearing a suit and the other was wearing casual clothes, and they were both in their early twenties."

In his early twenties, Jian Yu could only think of Yu City.

As for who the other one is, Jian Yu couldn't guess.

Shouldn't Yu Cheng be abroad preparing for his graduation defense at this time?

He must have known about Yu Ting's accident and came back specifically to visit her.

I estimate I'll be going back in a couple of days.

"Who are they?" the old lady kept asking.

Jian Yu shook his head. "I don't know either. I didn't see it."

The old lady pursed her lips. "Is that your boyfriend? The guy in the suit looked really upset when he looked at you. Did you two break up? If you did, could you give me his contact information? My daughter is about your age, and she's very pretty. I think they're a perfect match."

What kind of operation is this?

Jian Yu thought the old lady's suggestion was outrageous. Even if she and Yu Cheng were exes, let alone not being boyfriend and girlfriend, she would never introduce him to her fellow patient as a son-in-law.

"I don't know him, so I can't introduce you."

Jian Yu lifted the blanket and lay down, raising his hand to pull the curtains around the bed.

"How could I not know you? You must know each other." The old lady was still not giving up, and even got out of bed to pull Jian Yu's curtain.

Jian Yu immediately began coughing violently, but the old lady was not afraid at all and held onto Jian Yu's curtain tightly.

Jian Yu tried to pull the old lady's hand, but the old lady grabbed Jian Yu's wrist instead. Jian Yu tried to break free but couldn't, so he had to tilt his head back and cough violently in the old lady's face.

The old lady leaned back, but didn't let go of her hand.

After a moment of stalemate, the old lady began to worry, "You've been coughing for so long, are you alright?"

After watching the commotion for a while, another patient finally spoke up leisurely, "She had a viral infection that turned into pneumonia. Do you think she's alright?"

The old lady quickly shook off Jian Yu's hand, "Isn't it a fever?"

Another patient said, "More or less! You're almost fully recovered, what are you afraid of?"

"Aren't you afraid of keeping the curtains drawn during the day?" The old lady glared at the other woman and gritted her teeth. "So that's why you kept the curtains open the past few days, but closed them today."

The other person shrugged. "If it weren't for watching the show, who would pull back the curtain?"

The old lady jumped onto her hospital bed and quickly pulled her curtains all the way down before Jian Yu could close them.
