Chapter 315 Scammed

315

George put on a mask and hat, ran out, pushed the waiter aside, and kicked the door open.

The Taoist priest jumped out and led his young apprentice out in a long stride.

Kuang Mei was still inside trying to persuade him to stay, "Taoist Master, why is the fire getting bigger and bigger?"

The manager rushed in with a fire extinguisher, shouting, "What's going on? Why are you burning incense?"

"Did the incense start a fire?"

Kuang Mei shook her head. "No, it was when the Taoist priest was performing the ritual that he accidentally threw the talisman onto the chair. The chair had a fine silk cushion on it, and by the time we found it, the cushion, tablecloth, and curtains were all on fire."

George was speechless. How could this Taoist priest be so outrageous?

The manager didn't care about anything else and directly demanded compensation from Kuang Mei, saying, "Ms. Kuang, you scared away many of our customers, and none of them have paid their bills yet."

Kuang Mei covered her mouth and nose, "Go find the Taoist priest. He started the fire, what does it have to do with me?"

With her other hand, Kuang Mei held a handful of amulets and carefully stuffed them into her coat pocket, afraid of getting them dirty.

Kuang Mei refused to pay compensation, and the Taoist priest left. After considering the matter, the manager decided to call the police.

The police quickly located the Taoist priest and his apprentice.

After an investigation, it was discovered that neither the Taoist priest nor his disciples had Taoist certificates, layperson certificates, or even conversion certificates for believers.

The two are not master and apprentice; in real life, they are father and son.

"Are the two of them liars?"

Jian Yu was so surprised he couldn't close his mouth.

George nodded. "Kwong Mei is furious right now and has fired the driver who introduced the two of them."

Jian Yu asked, "Is the driver familiar with the two of them?"

George said, "They don't seem to know each other well; it was someone he knew who introduced her to him. After the Kwong family found out, they locked Kwong Mei up in their house and wouldn't let her leave except to go to the hospital."

Jian Yu didn't understand Taoist priests, but he knew that performing rituals required a lot of preparation in advance. How could it be that he could just burn incense and a few talismans in a restaurant and be done with it?

"I'm really curious how these two have managed to stay hidden until now without being discovered?"

George, "They used to act quite convincingly. Maybe today they took our money and wanted to spend it, but Kwong Mei wouldn't let them go, so they were in a hurry to finish, and that's when things went wrong. By the way, the Kwong family also hired a lawyer and said they're going to sue the two of them for fraud."

Jian Yu said, "If I had known they were scammers, I wouldn't have given them the money."

Now that she knows the other party is a liar, Kuang Mei will probably hold a grudge against her even more.

This Kwong Mei is intellectually disabled; arguing with her would be too much of a fuss.

If we don't hold it against them, what they did was truly infuriating.

Mrs. Kwong was woken up by her husband's phone call. Faced with the accusations, Mrs. Kwong felt very wronged.

She spent the whole night in fear and anxiety in the wilderness, and her family not only failed to visit her, but now they are calling to criticize her.

Mr. Kuang: "Do you know who was eating there back then? Now almost the entire upper class knows that our daughter kept muttering about 'yougui' (a type of mythical creature), and that she was deceived by a fake Taoist priest in order to exorcise it, which led to her burning down the restaurant. Do you know how many phone calls I just received from people laughing at us?"

Mrs. Kuang said, "How would I know she didn't go home? It's not like I found her a Taoist priest."

Mr. Kuang said, "We told you to stay at the temple for a few days. Who told you to come back last night? If you had come back earlier during the day, none of this would have happened."

Mrs. Kwong said, "We never expected to run into Fok Kai-chun and Kan Yu."

Mr. Kuang: "So what if you ran into them? Why did you run back? Look at you, so old, how can you be so unreliable? You're just..."

Mrs. Kwong was so angry that she felt dizzy and nauseous. She hung up the phone and started calling for a doctor.

Mr. Kuang had never been so humiliated by his wife before, and he was so angry that he didn't react for a moment.

When I called back, no one answered.

"If you're so capable, then never take the job."

Kuang Xin rolled her eyes, poured a glass of water and handed it to Kuang's father. "Uncle, I think someone is targeting Kuang Mei. Why don't we send her abroad for a while? First, she can focus on recovering, and second, she can avoid danger."

Mr. Kuang thought it made sense, "The Lunar New Year is just around the corner, we'll send her abroad after the New Year."

When Kuang Mei returned home, she received news that she was going abroad.

She stormed off to find her father, only to be scolded.

Kuang Mei felt she had a lot of grievances to vent, so she smashed up her bedroom in anger.

Kuang Xin waited until she finished venting before going in. "Are you angry?"

Kuang Mei glanced at her but didn't say anything.

Kuang Xin, "I heard you got into trouble because of Jian Yu?"

Kuang Mei forcefully tore at the curtains in her hands, "Hmph!"

Kuang Xin said, "Alright! Jian Yu is not someone we can afford to mess with. You should behave yourself, go abroad after the New Year, and come back after you've recovered from your injuries."

Kwong Mei is a very stubborn person. The more you try to get her to listen, the more she will do the opposite.

She thought things through simply. She felt that she could have recovered at home, but instead she was sent abroad, which must be because she had offended Jian Yu.

"I will never let her go!"

Kuang Xin offered a few words of comfort, feigning reassurance, "Don't do anything rash."

Kuang Mei rubbed her hands together and licked her lips. "Don't worry."

Kuang Xin was indeed relieved; Kuang Mei's action meant that she was about to start playing pranks again.

After Kuang Xin left, a scream suddenly came from Kuang Mei's phone.

Startled, Kuang Mei darted to the door.

Just then, the maid pushed the door open and came in.

Kuang Mei breathed a sigh of relief. "Did you hear the scream coming from my new phone?"

Maid: "Didn't you call for it?"

The maid only came in to check because she recognized Kwong Mei's voice.

Kuang Mei then realized that the voice sounded familiar.

Can you hear my voice?

The maid nodded.

"Impossible. It came from the phone, not from me."

The maid dared not argue with her and simply echoed her.

"Why don't you go and rest in the living room for a while? I'll clean your room for you."

Kuang Mei nodded, "Okay, go and get me a new phone."

"good."

After Kwong Mei went to the living room, the maid closed the door and then knocked on Kwong's father's door.

Mr. Kwong was discussing the marriage between Kwong Sum and Fok Kai-chun with his brother and sister-in-law.

After hearing the maid's report, Aunt Kuang looked worried. "With Kuang Mei like this, forget about going on blind dates. What if she drags Kuang Xin into this mess?"

Mr. Kuang was somewhat displeased. What did his sister-in-law say? What did she mean by implicating Kuang Xin?

Uncle Kwong said, "There are only two days left until the Lunar New Year. I originally planned to wait until after the New Year to send Kwong Mei off, but now it seems better to leave sooner rather than later."

Mr. Kuang was reluctant to part with her.

Uncle Kwong, "You should know how much trouble Kwong Mei has caused. During this time, she has implicated all the girls in the Kwong family."

Aunt Kuang said, "It's not like I'm not coming back. I just went out to get some medical treatment and I'll be back soon."

Mr. Kuang thought Mrs. Kuang was referring to her eye injury, so he nodded in agreement.

Aunt Kuang smiled and said, "That's right. I know Professor Stephen, a psychiatrist. I'll ask someone to contact him right now."

Mr. Kwong: "What psychiatry?"

Aunt Kuang said, "Kuang Mei is acting so strangely now, she must have some mental problems. You can't ignore her condition and avoid seeking medical help."

Mr. Kwong had long been at a loss as to what to do with Kwong Mei.

Mental instability and incoherent ramblings are not as reputable as supernatural or superstitious beliefs.

Uncle Kuang said, "Send her away! Think about how much profit the company has lost by offending the Yan family; now she's at odds with Jian Yu, and last night she offended Huo Qizhen. If this isn't handled well, it will affect his marriage to Kuang Xin, and your father won't let you off the hook."

Mr. Kuang nodded helplessly, "Okay."

Huo Qizhen didn't wake up until 5 p.m.

At this point, Kwong Mei had already been forcibly put on a plane by her family.
