Chapter 311 Sees the Light of Day Again

Commons stood on the hill, his finger hovering over the red button of the detonator, hesitant to press it.

He looked through the telescope, gazing at Cell No. 79 standing in the morning mist.

This prison is like a sleeping giant beast, and the outline of steel and concrete appears particularly cold and hard in the morning light.

His fingers trembled slightly, as if the button was carrying an electric current, tingling his nerves.

"Half a lifetime..." He murmured softly, his voice as if squeezed out from the depths of his throat, carrying an indescribable complex emotion.

Cell No. 79 is not just a prison, it is his kingdom, his masterpiece, and even an extension of his life.

Since taking over the prison, he has transformed it bit by bit into what it is today - high walls, electric fences, layers of checkpoints, a strict monitoring system, and even underground facilities that even the authorities are unknown to them.

Every brick and tile here is soaked with his hard work.

Countless images flashed through his mind: the prisoners he had sent to death row, the prison guards he had manipulated with power and money, and the secret experiments conducted in the underground laboratory.

Prison No. 79 is his chessboard, and he is the chess player, controlling the life and death of every chess piece.

But now, the chessboard is collapsing, the chess pieces are out of control, and even he himself has become a discarded piece in the game.

"Since I can't get it, I'll destroy it." His voice was low and cold, like an echo from the depths of hell.

His finger finally pressed the button, his movements quick and decisive, without the slightest hesitation.

But at that moment, his heart seemed to be gripped by an invisible hand, and his breathing became rapid and heavy.

The roar of the explosion came from a distance, shaking the ground beneath his feet.

The main building of Cell No. 79 tilted slowly in the flames, like a building block being toppled by a giant hand. Smoke and dust rose into the sky, obscuring the streetlights.

Commons' eyes were fixed on the fire, the burning ruins reflected in his pupils.

The corners of his mouth twitched slightly, trying to force out a sneer, but that smile was uglier than crying.

His fingers were still tightly gripping the detonator, his knuckles white from exertion. He knew that the destruction of this prison would mean the loss of half his life's work, and that he would never be able to return to the position of control.

But he had no choice. If the prison exposed his death, he would have no place to be buried, so he might as well bury it with his own hands.

If someone were to stand in his position, they would realize that this is a game of the upper level, and the abandoned pieces are destined to have no chance of counterattack.

"It's over..." he whispered, a tiredness that was almost relief in his voice.

But just as he turned to leave, a severe headache suddenly hit him, as if something exploded deep in his brain.

His vision began to blur, and a sharp ringing sounded in his ears. He staggered and held on to the tree trunk beside him, his breathing becoming rapid and disordered.

"No, it's not over yet..." He gritted his teeth and forced himself to stand firm.

His fingers touched his pocket, where he hid a syringe. It was his last trump card, a potion that could make him forget the pain temporarily.

But when he put the syringe against his arm, his hand suddenly stopped.

His gaze once again turned to the burning ruins, and a trace of imperceptible nostalgia flashed in his eyes.

Cell No. 79 is not just a prison, it is his past, his glory, his sins, and even a part of him.

And now, it all turned to ashes.

"Since I can't get it, I'll destroy it..." He repeated this sentence, his voice getting lower and lower, and finally it was almost a whisper.

His fingers finally pressed the syringe, and the moment the medicine flowed into his blood vessels, his body trembled slightly, and then he slowly slid to the ground.

The fire in the distance was still burning, and the smoke and dust obscured the sky and his vision.

Commons' eyes slowly closed, and a strange smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

He knew that the destruction of this prison was not the end, but another beginning, a crazier and darker beginning.

Zeng Mishan was leaning against the wall, gasping for breath, when the roar of the explosion came from afar.

Two of his ribs had been broken by Danny before, and every breath he took felt like a knife was twisting in his chest.

Ito Jin squatted aside, bandaging the wound on his leg with torn sheets, and the blood had soaked through the cloth.

"The signal jammer is working." Zeng Qi's voice emanated from the robot wolf's chest, carrying the noise of electrical interference. "Your area, Area C, has avoided the main explosion point, but the aftermath will soon..."

Before he could finish his words, the entire prison shook violently. Emergency lights on the ceiling exploded one after another, sending shards of glass raining down.

Zeng Mishan reflexively rushed to the corner, and a piece of concrete hit where he had just stood, and the splashing gravel scratched his cheek.

"Let's go!" Yi Danren grabbed Zeng Mishan and ran deeper into the tunnel. Five robot wolves formed a mobile shield wall, and the flying debris hit the graphene armor, sending sparks flying everywhere.

Behind them, the prison in Area B collapsed layer by layer like a row of dominoes. The screams of the death row prisoners who had no time to escape and were buried alive were soon drowned out by even more violent explosions.

Suddenly, there was a sound of chaotic footsteps at the end of the passage.

More than a dozen death row prisoners rushed out from the corner, and the burly man in the lead waved a wheelchair welded with steel bars and smashed it into Zeng Mishan's face.

Bang, bang, bang! The robot wolf opened fire, and the bullets hit the prisoners' eyebrows and chest accurately, and they fell to the ground.

"This way!" The doctor suddenly pushed open a hidden iron door. But when they rushed in, they found that the passage had been blocked by collapsed concrete.
