The doctor said that if he had come any later, the wound would have healed. And to make matters worse, he even freeloaded a meal for me."
Upon hearing this, Meng Jinyao and Song Xinning exchanged a meaningful glance, smiled knowingly, and then nodded.

Around noon, Song Xinning and Princess Jingning stayed for lunch. After lunch, the three of them chatted for a while before Song Xinning and Princess Jingning left the Changxing Marquis's residence.
In the afternoon, Gu Jingxi returned from his shift.
Meng Jinyao told him that her father, Meng Dongyuan, would be marrying Dong Ergu in early April.
Gu Jingxi wasn't too surprised, and simply asked, "What month of April?"
