Chapter 353 I Miss My Husband So Much
After that, Meng Jinyao didn't say anything more to Du Sze. She only chatted about family matters for a few minutes before making an excuse to leave with her two maids. She knew in her heart that even though her cousin didn't say anything against it, he still disagreed.
As Meng Jinyao stepped out of Cha Ran Ju, she looked up and saw the bright sun on the horizon. Looking at the dazzling golden sun, she suddenly missed Gu Jingxi and longed to see him.
Qingqiu gently comforted her, "Madam, please don't take your cousin's words to heart. He can say such things because he doesn't understand the relationship between you and the Marquis."
Meng Jinyao slowly withdrew her gaze and replied softly, "His words did not shake my resolve in the slightest. I just feel angry."
Ningdong said, "Madam, just let what the young master said go in one ear and out the other. Since what he said was unpleasant, you should see him less often in the future. Please don't get angry. The Marquis can't bear to see you angry or upset."
Hearing this, Meng Jinyao's expression softened. Thinking of Gu Jingxi, she smiled and said, "Ningdong is right. If my cousin doesn't approve of me being with the Marquis, then we should just have less contact. I'm not angry now. Let's stroll around for a while, and when it's almost time to leave work, we'll go to the Dali Temple. Maybe we can even catch the Marquis leaving work there."
Qingqiu and Ningdong responded in unison, accompanying her for a stroll on the street. They timed their journey to Dali Temple, arriving at the temple gate just before their shift ended to wait for her.
Meanwhile, Gu Jingxi and his colleagues walked and talked as they left the Dali Temple. Suddenly, he caught sight of the three of them, master and servant, below the steps. His young wife was looking at him with a smile. He was surprised at first, but then the corners of his mouth involuntarily turned up, and his eyes softened.
The others also noticed Meng Jinyao and her two servants. They had all met Madam Gu before, so they recognized her this time. They very tactfully stepped forward to greet their boss's wife, and then made an excuse to leave, so as not to get in the way.
Gu Jingxi walked up to her and asked softly, "Ayao, what brings you here?"
Meng Jinyao looked at him, her smile deepening, and said in a clear voice, "I missed my husband, so I came."
As soon as he finished speaking, Gu Jingxi froze. He rarely heard his wife say such things to him. Now, hearing it out of the blue, an indescribable sense of joy welled up in his heart. Since they were still outside, he suppressed the urge to hug her tightly. He simply reached out and took her small hand, asking, "I remember you went to see your cousin this afternoon. Did you just come here after seeing your cousin?"
Meng Jinyao nodded: "Yes, I came here after parting ways with my cousin. Are you done with your duties now? Does my husband still have anything to do?"
Gu Jingxi replied truthfully, "There's nothing much to do. Shall we go home now?"
Meng Jinyao replied, "I don't want to go back so soon. Since my husband isn't busy, let's have dinner out tonight. I've rented a pleasure boat, and we can enjoy the night view while we dine. What do you think, my husband?"
Gu Jingxi readily agreed to all her requests, saying, "Alright, we haven't gone boating on the lake in a long time, but I need to change into some casual clothes first."
Upon hearing this, Meng Jinyao glanced at his official robes. It was indeed inappropriate to parade around in such attire; it exuded an air of authority that instilled both respect and fear in the common people. So she said, "Then let's go home and change our clothes first?"
Gu Jingxi said, "There's no need to go home. I have clothes at the Dali Temple. I occasionally need to wear regular clothes when I go out on business, so I keep two sets of regular clothes at the Dali Temple."
Afterwards, Meng Jinyao sent Qingqiu and Ningdong back to their residences, while she waited for Gu Jingxi to change his clothes and come out before they left together in a carriage.
On the carriage.
Meng Jinyao sat against Gu Jingxi, her upper body nestled in his arms, her head slightly raised, her eyes fixed on him.
The man had eyebrows like ink paintings and a handsome face. At this moment, he had a gentle smile on his lips, like a gentle breeze and a bright moon, which made Meng Jinyao's heart flutter.
This man was excessively handsome, but his outstanding appearance did not make people overlook his talents. He was knowledgeable in ancient and modern times, and was proficient in music, chess, calligraphy and painting. He was also good at martial arts, riding and archery, and he could solve cases like a god. He was a man of both talent and appearance, and of upright character.
Such an outstanding person, who has surpassed many men, why would anyone focus on such a trivial flaw when looking at this person?
Meng Jinyao was angry, but also felt sorry for him.
So be it. If others can't see her husband's good qualities, then let them be blind. As long as she isn't blind, that's enough. Her husband is brilliant, talented, and of noble character. He's good in every way and worthy of her entrusting her life to.
Gu Jingxi noticed that she was unusually clingy today. He reached out and stroked her cheek, asking with a smile, "Ayao, why are you being so clingy today?"
Meng Jinyao wrapped her arms around his neck, looked into his eyes, and said in a sweet, coquettish voice, "I miss my husband, I miss him so much."
Her smile was radiant, and her bright almond-shaped eyes reflected Gu Jingxi's image. Her eyes were filled with Gu Jingxi, and the affection in her eyes was almost overflowing.
You could tell from her eyes that she liked Gu Jingxi, liked him a lot, really liked him.
Looking into her affectionate eyes, Gu Jingxi felt his heart melt. In an instant, all his thoughts were drawn away by her. At this moment, his mind could only hold her, and he could not think of anything else. He lowered his head and kissed her cheek, saying, "We just parted this morning."
Meng Jinyao pouted and muttered, "I don't care, I just miss you." Then she snuggled against him affectionately.
Seeing this, Gu Jingxi sensed that something was wrong with her. He put one arm around her and gently stroked her cheek with the other, asking softly, "Ayao, is something wrong?"
Meng Jinyao blinked innocently, "Nothing's wrong. What could have happened? I just missed my husband, and I was happy to see him."
After she finished speaking, seemingly not satisfied with the man only kissing her cheek, she reached out and cupped the man's face, her lips meeting his soft, warm lips.
Listening to his wife's sweet words and being teased by her actions, Gu Jingxi immediately grabbed the back of her head, turning the tables and taking the initiative.
After a long while, the lingering kiss ended. Gu Jingxi looked at his wife in his arms, her eyes filled with desire, her breathing disordered, and her breath coming in short gasps. His gaze suddenly turned deep and dark. He pinched his wife's chin and lowered his head to kiss her rosy lips.
After the passionate kiss ended, Meng Jinyao lay panting in his arms. Once she caught her breath, she looked up again, gazing longingly at his handsome and otherworldly face: "My husband is so handsome."
Gu Jingxi chuckled softly, "Did you put honey on your lips today? How come they're so sweet?"
"Is it sweet? Then, my husband, would you like to try some more?" Meng Jinyao giggled, her eyes fixed on his lips, a clear invitation in her gaze.
Gu Jingxi looked at the girl in his arms, who was like a little devil, bold and proactive. He regretted once again that he had given up on treatment. Otherwise, he wouldn't be so powerless now.
After a moment, Gu Jingxi lowered his head and kissed her rosy lips. Looking into her eyes, his gaze held a hint of aggression, leaving a lingering impression: "Let's just have a taste for now. After some time, your husband will have a proper taste and see just how sweet A Yao really is."
For some reason, Meng Jinyao sensed a hint of danger, but she didn't think much of it. She just smiled and replied crisply, "Okay."
