Chapter 53: Feast in the Wilderness (Part 1)

What an arrogant and conceited person he is.

Governor Sun was indeed a cunning man. Even so, he did not show any surprise or dissatisfaction. He just gave his men a wink, and soon a female maid dressed in cool and gentle clothes came forward, trying to find out the man's background.

"Sir, why are you so cold and silent? I'm so scared that I don't even dare to get close to you..."

The man had a face that was very attractive to women, but he didn't have the lustful air of a man who was always indulging in women. His eyes and brows were very arrogant, yet also very innocent.

He looked at the delicate face covered in powder with some doubt: "Who are you? Why do you call me Master?"

The maid's face froze for a moment, then she smiled like a flower again: "Master, you are really good at joking. You even tease me. But do you think I am not serving you well? Why don't you let me serve you for a while, and then you will know how good I am..."

But she didn't expect that this glance would be her last in this world. The next second, a bright red steel thorn engraved with a peony flower appeared between her eyes, penetrating three feet into her flesh.

A burst of black gas spread out from the place where the steel spike was inserted at a speed visible to the naked eye. Soon the maidservant became stiff as a stone and could no longer move. Black veins grew on her face from the steel spike. From a distance, it looked like a black flower blooming on her face, which was weird and terrifying.

The smell of death spread throughout the banquet, and it seemed as if the show was about to begin.
