Xiao Nanhui's words stirred up a tense atmosphere in the cell.
Pan Mei'er hadn't expected this half-dead, filthy thing to bite her. She laughed in anger, "I was wondering why you were so silent just now. Turns out you were waiting here. Do you think anyone will believe you just because you're spouting nonsense? You're just a lowly lackey, you can't say anything useful. If I'm free, I'll spend some time with you. If I'm bored, you won't be able to utter a single word."
Xiao Nanhui sneered, "Master Pan, you have countless ways to silence me. I am just a lowly servant, so I can only let you do whatever you want."
These words were obviously meant to provoke anger. Pan Meir felt furious and was about to cut off the disgusting tongue of the man in front of her, but she stopped the next second after seeing the reaction of Governor Sun.
She couldn't let herself be fooled. The man was dead, and that was it, but she couldn't wash herself clean even if she jumped into the river.
Thinking of this, she pretended to be calm and leaned towards the direction of Governor Sun.
"How about giving you a chance to speak? I want to hear what nonsense you have to say."
Xiao Nanhui was waiting for this moment. She thought for a long time before suddenly looking up.
In fact, there was no need to prepare too much. Her eyes were red because of the pain, and her expression was as if she had seen an irreconcilable enemy.
"Sister! It's already come to this, and you still don't intend to acknowledge me?"
This statement was truly earth-shattering.
Pan Meir's previous calmness shattered into pieces in an instant, and her bright red lips stretched into an inverted trapezoid due to excitement.
"Nonsense! Which one is your sister?!"
Xiao Nanhui used up all his remaining strength to shout at the top of his lungs, his voice surprisingly drowning out the other person: "You are my elder sister! I am your biological sister! Back then, you killed your brother with your own hands and took the village for yourself..."
Pan Meir slapped her hard in the face: "Shut up! Where did you come from? You are not worthy of mentioning brother?! Today I will peel off your skin..."
She forced herself not to look at the face distorted by anger, and stared intently into the eyes of the Grand Administrator Sun: "Sir! If you don't believe me, just look at my face!"
A bright red spike suddenly appeared on Pan Meir's fingertips, and she slashed it towards Xiao Nanhui's face with her backhand.
"Master Pan."
The voice of the Grand Marshal Sun sounded slowly. Pan Meir gritted her teeth but had to stop her murderous actions.
She is still on the Sun family's territory, and this old thief cannot be offended for the time being.
Prefect Sun didn't even bother to look at the exasperated look on the woman's face. He took a few steps closer to the woman on the torture chair, as if he wanted to reach out and brush the messy hair away from her face, but he eventually retracted his hand.
Xiao Nanhui knew that he thought her face was dirty and didn't even look at her.
“There are some similarities.”
Pan Meir's face became even stiffer, but Xiao Nanhui smiled.
What difference did it make whether he looked or not? She had already handed the chicken-killing knife to the governor, and it was up to him to see how he used it.
"Go on, finish what you just said."
Xiao Nan spat out a mouthful of blood foam and tried to calm his pounding heart.
She was not a natural liar. If she talked too much, she would be exposed and embarrassed. But in the current situation, she had to give it a try even if it meant getting hurt. Everything is difficult at the beginning, and there has to be a first time.
She tried to recall the man's half-smile, the way he spoke to the other person without any emotion and in a self-consistent manner, licked the blood from her teeth, and slowly opened her mouth.
"She murdered my brother and staged a revenge drama, seizing the opportunity to eliminate dissidents and ascend to the position of village leader. Now she's trying to pull the same trick again, targeting you. She's already colluded with the Southern Qiang people, and wants to take advantage of the chaos during the conflict between Bijiang and Tiancheng to kill you and take over the territory around Sanmu Pass. I've sneaked into the mansion this time to get close to you and thwart this vicious woman's evil scheme."
Pan Meir's hand was about to stab, and hatred was already in her eyes: "You are making empty accusations without any evidence. Why should Lord Sun believe you?"
The Grand Marshal Sun was delighted to watch the fun and nodded, saying, "Master Pan is absolutely right. Do you have any evidence?"
Evidence…they want evidence.
Xiao Nanhui racked his brains to make up a plan in his mind, but his mind was still blank.
Time passed minute by minute, and she began to sweat. She could feel the rapidly accumulating impatience and murderous intent in the air.
She needed a little inspiration, a little inspiration to survive.
The next second, Pan Meir's shrill laughter echoed, tinged with sarcasm. "Master Sun, I think we should just forget it. This damned slave was searched before he came in, and there's not even a scrap of paper left. What evidence could there be?"
Xiao Nanhui blinked, and something suddenly flooded into her head.
"I have evidence."
"Oh? Where's the evidence?"
"I had a letterbox with me before, and the evidence is in that letterbox."
"Mailbox?"
Xiao Nanhui's lips moved slightly, and he slowly said, "Yes. It's no more than three feet long, made of fine steel, and very precise."
There was a moment of silence in the cell, so quiet that everyone's breathing could be heard clearly.
Just a few seconds seemed like a long day in Xiao Nanhui's eyes.
Finally, Governor Sun raised his hand and beckoned to the two guards standing at the door: "You, go and see if you can find what she said."
The guard took the order and left, but returned a short while later holding something.
Xiao Nanhui tried hard to control his gaze, not letting the desire in his eyes betray him.
"Is this the mailbox you mentioned?"
