Chapter 58 The God Who Overlooks All Living Things

The Sun Mansion, which had been standing still an hour or so ago, is now in chaos.

The sounds of metal clashing and arrows flying through the air were endless. Occasionally, a few stray arrows flew into the yard, scaring the fleeing family members and servants into crying and shrieking.

The guarding cavalry had been sent out long ago. It was not known whether they were fighting against the Tiancheng army, were killed, or fled for their lives. In short, not even a single figure was seen.

The Sun family, who always brought suffering to others, never imagined that this suffering would one day fall on their own heads.

Prefect Sun ran out of the dungeon, looked around, and went straight to his backyard.

He had expected this day to come a long time ago. The most valuable things had already been packed up, and he could take them and escape for his life. As long as he had gold, no matter whether it fell into the hands of Tianchengren or the Bai family, he didn't believe that he had no way to survive.

However, having not seen the flash of swords and sabers for a long time, the governor Sun had clearly underestimated the severity of the battlefield. Even the few steps from the backyard to the back door were difficult for him to walk. The west wall of the Sun family's house was not high enough, and stray arrows flew in from time to time.

Relying on his familiarity with the terrain, he dodged here and there. Just as he was breathing a sigh of relief, he suddenly felt someone standing behind him.

He subconsciously turned around and swung his fists wildly, but his fists missed and he didn't even touch the opponent's clothes.

He subconsciously wanted to call for help, but his cry stopped abruptly when he saw the man's face.

The one wearing bright purple clothes was Yan Zi.

"It's Lord Yan! Tiancheng's army is coming. Come with me and fight your way out of here..."

Yan Zi's expression remained unchanged, as if the shouting and screaming around him had nothing to do with him. He took out the parchment scroll again and pointed to the place where he signed.

"Today is the second day. Is Lord Sun sober yet?"

Veins were throbbing at the corners of Governor Sun's eyebrows. What a stupid blockhead! He was still thinking of signing some bullshit treaty with him at this hour.

If it weren't for the unfathomable martial arts skills of the man in front of him, he really wanted to kick him away and then step over him.

Taking a deep breath, Governor Sun silently recited the word "forbearance".

"If Lord Yan is willing to take me out of here alive, I will willingly hand over all the sentry posts in the Sanmu Pass area to Lord Bai."

Yan Zi frowned slightly: "Master Bai didn't ask me to escort anyone else."

"If you don't agree, I won't sign."

"Then I will just take the blank parchment scroll back with me."

In a moment of desperation, Governor Sun blurted out, "If you won't save my life, I'll sign an agreement with Tiancheng's men and give up the entire Sanmu Pass area!"

These words seemed like a spell that pinned the other person's figure to the ground. After a long time, the young man slowly turned his head.

"What did you say?"

"I said, I want to be with someone who is made for me..."

Governor Sun was unable to finish his words because his head was no longer on his neck when he was halfway through his words.

Yan Zi slowly put the sword in his hand back into the sheath, and there was not a drop of blood on the sword.

"Master Bai has already instructed us that this is the only thing that won't work."

He lowered his head and looked at the bodies of the people on the ground with some annoyance. After thinking for a while, he squatted down and picked up the fingers of Sun Taishou, which were still stiff, and stained them with the thick blood that seeped out of the ground, and made a fingerprint on the parchment scroll.

After doing all this, a look of satisfaction appeared on his face. He put away the parchment scroll and flew out of the Sun Mansion as if no one was around.

******************

When Xiao Nanhui stumbled out of the dungeon, the sounds of fighting outside had died down a lot, but the feeling of the earth shaking just now still lingered in the land, and there was a sense of unease all around.

The people who caused the panic seemed to have evacuated the Sun family's yard. As she walked along, she saw only corpses on the ground, but rarely a living person.

She wouldn't have heard it wrong in the dungeon; the guard did call out the name of the Tiancheng Army.

It's strange, why are the people of Tiancheng so impatient? Did they know that Bijiang is going to get involved in the Sanmu Pass area?

Her outpost was a bit of a failure. Before the message was even sent out, people already knew about it.

Who is coming? Could it be Xiao Zhun?

Could it be Xiao Zhun who came to save her?

Xiao Nanhui's heart was pounding, and she couldn't tell whether it was from the blood loss or the anxiety. Even though she knew it was almost impossible for Xiao Jun to appear here, she still relied on that humble thought to cheer herself up again.

Pingxian supported herself on the ground, making a harsh scraping sound. She tried not to look at the protruding white bones on her ankles, but just looked in the direction of the exit, moving with all her might.

Occasionally, a stray arrow would fly by, but she was too lazy to dodge it, and just thought it was a stroke of luck, and she ended up near the Gobi Desert.

From then on, the road split into two. The one on the right was the way they came, and after walking for an hour or so, they would be back to Sanmu Pass; the one on the left was the road deep into the Bijiang. She didn't know what was at the end of the road, nor did she know if she could still come back along that road.

My mouth was dry, but the cold sweat was even more severe.

The choice became increasingly difficult, and her mind became increasingly unclear. She hoped she would not regret it later.

Of course, that will have to happen in the future.

Xiao Nanhui turned sideways and moved towards the left with difficulty.

After only three steps, she regretted it.

A man walked out from behind the rock in front and took off the mask. It was Kesan, the leader of the camel caravan.

"Woman, we meet again."

Xiao Nanhui reluctantly raised his hand and waved, "Nice to meet you. Um, Lord Sun is still behind us, so you should still be able to make it."

Kesan laughed, his voice like an old crow: "I'm not looking for him, I'm looking for you."
