Chapter 88: I Don’t Know I’m Just a Guest in My Dream

It wasn't until the third night that she saw that the boy seemed to have another nightmare.

The small, thin body couldn't even curl up, and just stood stiffly facing the wall. The thin clothes outlined the shape of his back, and he seemed to be trembling slightly.

She saw him dreaming in his dream.

This feeling was a bit magical and touched her heart a little.

She had never seen an emperor like this before, with all his vulnerabilities exposed.

Although she knew the other person couldn't hear her, she couldn't help but walk forward and called softly, "Hey, wake up. You're having a nightmare."

The next second, the boy opened his eyes.

He seemed to look at her face, then slowly sat up.

Xiao Nanhui felt something was amiss and took a few steps back. Unexpectedly, the boy also stood up and walked a few steps, stopping right in front of her. He then raised his dark eyes and stared straight into her face.

She felt a little uneasy when being stared at, and murmured, "Can you see me?"

The boy frowned after a long moment: "Why are you still here?"

Damn it! I can see you’re silent, so I’ve been talking to myself in the air. It’s so embarrassing!

She doesn't dare to bully the older ones, so how can she not bully the younger ones?

She wanted to go up and twist his face, but her move failed again.

Xiao Nanhui was furious: "You can see me and hear me, why did you ignore me a few days ago?"

"Why should I care? If I keep caring about them one by one, how can I do my homework?"

Her eyes lit up: "Why? Has anyone else appeared out of thin air like me before?"

The boy nodded. "But they won't stay like you. Most of them disappear after half a day."

Xiao Nanhui put on a helpless gesture.

"I want to leave too, but I don't know how to get out."

The boy turned around calmly, as if it was nothing new. "No problem. When the time comes, you'll naturally leave."

Wow, look at his catchphrases and behavior, he has really been like this since he was a child.

She followed him relentlessly, pouring out all the doubts in her mind.

"Then tell me, what am I? Am I a ghost? Do you have the ability to see ghosts?"

The boy seemed to be very disgusted with her presumptuous speculation. He said slowly, "If I could see ghosts, you would be dead by now. Aren't you afraid?"

She picked her nose. "If I'm dead, I'm dead. I already struggled with this problem when I was alive, but now I don't have to worry about it anymore."

The boy finally looked up at her and was silent for a moment before speaking, "My mother told me that you are all people I will meet in my lifetime. We are just meeting each other now, so don't worry, we are destined to meet again in the future."

When talking about his mother, the boy looked lonely for a moment.

After all, he hasn't yet achieved the look of a solitary Buddha lying by the green lamp. Although he looks much more mature than other children of the same age, some emotions can still be read on his face.

Xiao Nanhui coughed lightly, feeling he should act like an adult, so he put on a compassionate expression: "You have a mother? Where is your mother? Why are you left here alone?"

The boy looked at her strangely and then returned to his serious expression.

"Mother has to accompany Father, so naturally she can't come to accompany me."

She was even more puzzled: "Then why did your father leave you here alone?"

The boy looked at her and asked, "Why should I tell you?"

She was choked and a little embarrassed, pretending to be disdainful and said: "It seems that you don't know it yourself."

The boy lowered his head and thought for a moment, then said, "So this is what the teacher called the provocation method."

Being exposed so many times, she felt really embarrassed. Adding to her aggrieved mood as she came here for no apparent reason, she simply sat down on the ground and sulked.

The air returned to its previous silence.

The damp and cramped space makes people feel depressed and unable to muster any strength.

The boy stared at the scriptures spread out in front of him, and suddenly he couldn't bear to read it anymore.

"Why are you silent?"

She groaned and turned away.

There was another silence behind her. Just when she couldn't help but want to turn around, the boy's voice suddenly sounded low.

“Almost everyone who knew my secret is no longer in this world.”

Xiao Nan turned around and said sincerely, "I'm not really a human being anyway, so it doesn't matter if you tell me."

The boy stared at her blankly for a few seconds, suddenly smiled, then realized something and quickly restrained his expression.

"My father said I was suffering from hysteria. He couldn't let me go until I was cured."

"Hysteria?" She felt that there was something wrong with this statement, but she couldn't remember what was wrong.

"I have to learn to control my emotions. Anger, sadness, joy, and fear can all make me lose control, and once I lose control, everyone around me will suffer."

This time it was her turn to remain silent.

She remembered why she was there.

"Hello." The boy called her softly, "I've told you so much, but you still haven't told me your name."

Xiao Nanhui looked at the boy's face quietly, and felt that time and space seemed to have stopped at this moment.

She opened her mouth: "My name is..."

Xiao Nan returned...

A voice suddenly sounded in my ears.

She was startled, then scratched her ears: "Did you hear any sound?"

The boy shook his head slightly, still looking at her: "What's your name?"

Xiao Nan returned...

The voice came closer, as if it were right inside her head.
