Chapter 36 (Exclusive to Jinjiang Literature City)
To be fair, Rokudo Mukuro didn't dislike Sawada Tsunayoshi and his group, but he was filled with disgust for Reborn, Sawada Tsunayoshi's tutor.
It's not just that Alcbareno's identity is too special, but more importantly, Reborn represents the will of the Ninth Vongola.
“Your habit of taking your anger out on others is not good.” As intelligent as Reborn was, he naturally understood why Rokudo Mukuro had such a strong opinion of him. “My relationship with the Ninth Vongola is merely one of employment.”
Rokudo Mukuro simply gave him a look that seemed to say, "Do you think I'd believe that?"
Walking up to Ryunosuke Akutagawa, Rokudo Mukuro said, "You probably don't have any money on you, right? In that case, why don't you come work for me and use your wages to pay for your sister's medical expenses?"
Ryunosuke Akutagawa was silent for a moment, then asked, "What can I do for you?"
That means you've agreed.
"Help me protect someone," Rokudo Mukuro said.
The thin boy agreed without hesitation.
Rokudo Mukuro saved his sister, so he will do everything in his power to complete the task Rokudo Mukuro gave him, even if it costs him his life.
As long as his sister is alright, he doesn't care what happens to himself.
Rokudo Mukuro was all too familiar with this state of his; he had been like this before.
Unfortunately, Ryunosuke Akutagawa was not as lucky as he was. He met Kagemoto before going astray, while Akutagawa was targeted by the Port Mafia.
However, Ryunosuke Akutagawa was also lucky, because he once saw a book called "Rashomon" on Kagemoto's bookshelf, and the author of that book was none other than Ryunosuke Akutagawa.
Rokudo Mukuro was a clever man. He keenly perceived the relationship between the two, and thus preemptively bound Akutagawa Ryunosuke to his side with money before the Port Mafia could make their move.
Having witnessed all of this, Reborn sighed, "What a pity."
He had high hopes for this boy; given time, he would surely become a powerful ability user. If he could become a member of the Sawada Tsunayoshi family, Sawada Tsunayoshi's chances of winning the succession battle would be much greater.
In addition, Ryunosuke Akutagawa himself came from the slums and had witnessed the ugliness of human nature, which made him suitable for handling some "dirty work." After all, neither Takeshi Yamamoto nor Ryohei Sasagawa had ever been exposed to the dark side of the world. Even Hayato Gokudera was well protected by his sister Bianchi, which is why he was so straightforward.
Originally, he chose Rokudo Mukuro. Rokudo Mukuro not only came from an old Mafia family, but also personally experienced the cruelty of the underworld. His behavior was both righteous and evil, making him a perfect candidate.
Unfortunately, due to Keigen's interference, Rokudo Mukuro has become an uncontrollable part of the group. That's why Reborn wants Ryunosuke Akutagawa to join the Vongola and replace Rokudo Mukuro as a hidden blade in the Mafia world for Sawada Tsunayoshi.
Rokudo Mukuro naturally knew what the scheming Alcbareno was thinking, so he gave him a mocking smile.
That Mukuro!
Reborn suddenly felt an itch to beat the kid in front of him up, but unfortunately, the kid had a protective parent behind him. If he really beat the kid up, he would be the one getting beaten up next.
"Tsk." The baby pressed down on the brim of his hat, deciding to double the difficulty of Sawada Tsunayoshi's training.
While looking after Gin Akutagawa, Tsunayoshi Sawada suddenly felt a chill; his intuition told him that something bad was about to happen.
On the other side, Dazai Osamu listened to his subordinates' report with a blank expression.
Although he didn't yell or shout, those around him could clearly sense how terrible Dazai Osamu's mood was.
“The Vongola Family…” Dazai Osamu toyed with the dagger in his hand, a hint of ferocity flashing in his eyes that were not wrapped in bandages.
Not only did they trespass into the territory of their port Mafia, but they also took away the promising young talent that he had his eye on. Dazai Osamu was in such a bad mood that he wanted to smash up Nakahara Chuuya's wine cellar.
"...Mr. Mori means that we should try to avoid conflict with the Vongola family." The black-clad youth who was relaying the message to Dazai Osamu spoke softer and softer, as if afraid that Dazai Osamu, who was in a bad mood, would shoot him in the head.
Dazai Osamu said "useless" without any emotion, then walked straight into the car without even looking at him.
The young man in black only breathed a sigh of relief after the car had driven quite a distance.
Being called trash is much better than being shot. Wait, was that "trash" directed at himself, or at Mr. Mori?
Realizing that his idea was too outrageous, the young man quickly shook his head and put the idea out of his mind.
In the back seat of the car, Dazai Osamu lay with his eyes closed, seemingly lost in thought. Hirotsu Ryūrō, who was driving, glanced at him through the rearview mirror and then said softly, "Should we continue to keep an eye on Akutagawa Ryūnosuke?"
“There’s no need for that.” Dazai Osamu opened his eyes, his expression gloomy. “Once a dog recognizes its owner, it’s very difficult to tame it.”
Seeing that his superior was in a bad mood, Hirojin Ryūrō stopped talking and quietly drove back to the base.
Just when he thought Dazai Osamu was about to fall asleep, he heard a voice from the back seat say, "That's why I hate dogs the most."
Upon arriving at the base, before Dazai Osamu could even get on the elevator, he saw Nakahara Chuuya storming towards him.
"Dazai, did you puncture my tires?"
Chuuya Nakahara grabbed his tie and pulled it down, causing Osamu Dazai to stumble and almost fall.
"How rude of me." Seeing his partner so angry, Dazai Osamu's bad mood instantly improved. "I got up early this morning to work on a mission, unlike you, a dwarf who can only sleep until the sun is high in the sky."
"That's because you had too many tasks piling up, forcing you to work overtime to meet deadlines, while I finished long ago." Chuuya Nakahara grabbed his tie and pulled it apart, nearly strangling Osamu Dazai to death. "No one but you dares to tamper with my car. Prepare to die, you damned dark man!"
"That would be wonderful!" Dazai Osamu was not angry at all, but rather very excited. "Just thinking that after I die, Chuuya will be sentenced to death by the Port Mafia makes me extremely happy."
Although their port Mafia is an illegal organization whose evil deeds are countless, they have a rule that forbids them from harming their comrades; otherwise, it is considered betrayal and they will be hunted down to the ends of the earth.
The two bickered and tugged at each other as they entered the stairs, one punching the other, the other slapping him, leaving Guangjin Liulang chuckling softly.
"Kids are cuter when they're full of energy," Hirotsu Ryūrō remarked, ignoring the distorted expression on his subordinate's face, and leisurely returned to his studio.
The elevator stopped at the top floor, and the two noisy boys pulled each other as they walked towards Mori Ougai's room, bumping into a red-haired beauty in a kimono on the way.
"Momiji-nee." Nakahara Chuuya immediately loosened Dazai Osamu's tightly tied tie and greeted the woman obediently.
Dazai Osamu collapsed to the ground, looking like he was barely breathing.
"Stop playing dead!" Chuuya Nakahara pretended to stomp on his stomach.
With that kick, Dazai Osamu realized he was going to die, so he stopped pretending to be dead and immediately rolled away to avoid the kick.
"Stop fooling around, the boss has serious business with you two." Ozaki Koyo didn't stop them, but gently reminded them, "The boss is in a bad mood."
Hearing her say that, the two of them stopped joking around and became serious.
"Is it because of the Vongola family?" Chuuya Nakahara had also heard about this.
“Not only that,” Ozaki Koyo said, “Ability users from other countries have also started making moves in Yokohama.”
"Because of that rumor?" Chuuya Nakahara asked.
“Nine times out of ten,” said Ozaki Koyo. “Whether that [book] exists or not, Yokohama is about to be hit by a storm.”
Putting aside other countries, America will absolutely not stop until she turns Yokohama upside down.
"Yokohama is really going to descend into chaos," Dazai Osamu remarked, then suddenly laughed. "Do you think Yokohama will become the next Hiroshima?"
Chuuya Nakahara and Kouyou Ozaki's expressions changed instantly.
Despite their immense power as superhumans, they are still human, and faced with that terrifying nuclear weapon, they have no power to even struggle.
“You’re overthinking it, Dazai-kun.” Mori Ougai appeared beside them at some point and said with a smile, “This is not a time of war. Even America cannot easily use that weapon.”
“Indeed, that would make it difficult for them to explain to the world, but…” Dazai Osamu smiled, “what if they send out a Transcendent?”
The destructive power of the Transcendent is no less than that weapon, and it even carries a certain degree of uncontrollable risk.
"It's rare to see Dazai-kun so concerned about Yokohama." A hint of hostility flashed in Mori Ōgai's eyes.
Dazai Osamu shrugged indifferently: "It's still the place I live, after all."
He is currently quite comfortable in Yokohama and has no plans to move.
Mori Ougai chuckled and put his hands in his pockets: "Don't worry, the government is the one with a bigger headache than us."
Even though the port mascot does indeed control Yokohama's nightlife, the Yokohama government is the one in charge on the surface. So, there are many people who have a bigger headache than him, the mascot's boss.
"So what should we do?" Chuuya Nakahara asked.
Even if he wasn't good at thinking, he knew that Mori Ougai couldn't rely entirely on the Yokohama government for this matter; that would be tantamount to handing his life over to someone else.
“Go find someone,” Mori Ougai said.
Chuuya Nakahara asked, "Who?"
Mori Ōgai smiled and said a name: "Kagemoto".
Upon hearing this familiar name, Chuuya Nakahara paused for a moment: "It's the person you asked me to assassinate last time."
“That’s right.” Mori Ougai said with a smile, “Kagemoto is the key to protecting Yokohama.”
“But we recently attempted to assassinate him,” Chuuya Nakahara asked hesitantly. “Would he be willing to help us?”
"Of course not." Mori Ougai shrugged. "Just like I wouldn't either."
Chuuya Nakahara was even more puzzled by this, but Osamu Dazai immediately understood Mori Ougai's meaning.
"His goal is also [the book]?"
Mori Ogai smiled and nodded: "That's right. As long as he gets his hands on the [book] first, the crisis in Yokohama will naturally be resolved."
After all, those people's goal was [the book], not Yokohama.
“So, Dazai-kun and Chuuya-kun, your next task is…” Mori Ougai’s gaze swept over his proud subordinates as he said with a smile, “to help Kagemoto find the [book].
