Chapter 18 Awakening of Consciousness
Despite having prepared himself mentally thanks to Daorun's reminder, Jingyuan was still shocked the moment he stepped out of the airport.
Looking at the snowflakes dancing in the sky, and then at his own thin shirt and trousers, Jingyuan couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"What are you grinning about?" A tall, silver-haired, blue-eyed man appeared behind him at some point, handed him a thick black coat, and said, "Put this coat on."
Taking the thick coat from Gin, Jingyuan smiled and said, "It's nothing, it's just that I haven't seen such heavy snow in a long time."
"So you're dressed so thinly, do you want to die in this snow?" Gin said irritably. "Don't just stand there, get in the car."
Although he brought warm clothes for Jingyuan, it didn't mean the two of them could stand and chat in such bad weather.
Once in the taxi, Jing Yuan gave the name of a hotel owned by the Taoist family.
"Why did you come to Japan so soon?" GIN asked.
He thought Jingyuan would stay in the Flower Country for more than half a year, but he didn't expect that he would come to Japan so soon.
"I can't help it, I miss you~"
"Oh."
GIN didn't believe his nonsense. He took out a cigarette from his pocket and was about to light it, but then he suddenly remembered that Kyungwon didn't like the smell of smoke, so he put the cigarette back.
"What would you like to eat for dinner?" Gin asked.
It's already evening, and dinner time will be here soon.
“You’ve spent more time in Japan, so I’ll listen to you,” Jingyuan said.
So GIN sent a message to the restaurant he frequented and made a reservation for the time.
Jingyuan looked out through the glass, but unfortunately, because the weather was so bad, there were not many pedestrians on the road, and many shops were closed.
While it was still sunny and warm on the other side of the sea in Japan, it turned into winter when we arrived, yet no one seemed to think anything was wrong.
It looks like this trip to Japan is going to be very interesting.
"What are you looking at?" Gin asked curiously when he saw that he hadn't spoken for a while.
"Nothing, just wondering what the weather will be like tomorrow." Jing Yuan looked away and asked, "Where's Haik? What has he been doing lately?"
Kagemoto did not tell Rokudo Mukuro about his trip to Japan.
“He went to Namimori,” Gin said.
Oh, Namimori. Kagemoto thought for a moment, then remembered that was where Sawada Tsunayoshi was.
"It seems they get along quite well." Jing Yuan was quite satisfied with this.
This silly kid has finally learned to solve problems in ways other than violence; he's made great progress.
The two chatted casually as the taxi slowly drove towards the hotel, accompanied by news broadcasts in the car.
Upon arriving at the hotel, Jingyuan casually pushed his suitcase aside and immediately collapsed onto the bed, rolling around a few times.
After sitting on a plane and in a car for so long, he only felt some pain in his lower back.
"I don't want to eat dinner." Jingyuan's voice was muffled because his face was buried in the pillow.
All he wants to do right now is sleep.
"Are you sure?" GIN raised an eyebrow at him.
The manner he displayed suggested that if Jing Yuan dared to utter a single "yes," he would immediately tattle and have Fu Xuan teach him a lesson.
"Ilya, wake up! You're just a heartless killer, not a male mother." Jing Yuan was completely exasperated.
I don't know what kind of agreement Fu Xuan reached with GIN, but this cold-blooded killer keeps an eye on me and keeps tattling on me.
GIN scoffed: "Don't you know your own successor?"
With a helpless sigh, Kyungwon sat up, clutching his pillow, his eyes filled with sorrow as he looked at Gin.
“Ilya, Ilyosha, you’ve changed.” The tone was practically a scathing rebuke of Gin, calling him a scumbag. “You weren’t like this before…”
GIN ignored him and stared at his small suitcase for a while before frowning and asking, "Didn't you bring any winter clothes?"
"It's okay, winter will be over soon." Jing Yuan winked at him.
GIN wasn't stupid; he naturally understood the hidden meaning in Jing Yuan's words. So he turned to look at him, his tone becoming serious: "What do you mean by that?"
Jingyuan tilted his head, looking at him with a bright smile, and asked, "Gin, what day was yesterday?"
Although Gin found the question strange and irrelevant to his own, he still answered, "Monday."
"So, what day of the week is it today?" Jingyuan asked again.
“Of course it’s Saturday…” GIN’s eyes widened slowly as he said this.
Yesterday was Monday, and today should be Tuesday. Why did I say it was Saturday?
“GIN, do you remember when we first met?” Jingyuan asked.
“...March 20th of this year, in Mexico,” GIN replied.
He always remembered the information about Jingyuan very clearly.
"So, when were you transferred to Japan?" Jingyuan guided Gin step by step to uncover the suspicious points.
A hint of confusion flashed in GIN's eyes.
He remembered that he had been living in Japan for several years, but then he recalled that he had only been transferred to Japan recently.
Various mission scenarios flashed through GIN's mind.
Something's not right.
Something's not right.
A strong sense of unease made him feel uncomfortable all over, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what was wrong.
His mind was sometimes clear and sometimes confused, until he felt a cool sensation between his brows and realized that Jing Yuan had been standing in front of him at some point, his finger gently tapping his forehead.
Perhaps because he was wearing too little clothing, Gyeongwon's fingers were cold after staying in the room for so long, but it was thanks to this coolness that Gin was awakened from his chaotic thoughts.
Withdrawing his finger, Jing Yuan asked with a smile, "Now you know why I came here, right?"
Gin suppressed his shock and clicked his tongue: "Is it also because of this strange object?"
“It’s not certain yet,” Jing Yuan said. “After all, it involves the [Law of Time], so I dare not draw any conclusions easily.”
If we're talking about which of the Star Gods is related to time, the first one that comes to Jing Yuan's mind is "The End." But the End King travels against time, not through a chaotic timeline. It can't possibly be the Pleasure Star God, Ahagan, right? Hmm... it doesn't seem like that's impossible.
Suppressing this possibility in his heart, Jing Yuan smiled and said, "Alright, alright, let's not talk about this anymore. Let me take a shower, and then we'll go eat together."
GIN knew that these things couldn't be rushed, so he stopped wasting his brain cells and silently sat on the sofa waiting for Kyung Won to come out of the bathroom.
Jing Yuan didn't keep him waiting too long and quickly finished packing.
"Let's go," he said with a smile.
GIN's gaze swept over him, but he didn't say anything.
Gin stood up, put on his hat, and said, "Let's go."
