Chapter 25 (Exclusive to Jinjiang Literature City)

Chapter 25 (Exclusive to Jinjiang Literature City)

Because the higher-ups in the jutsu world had already informed the police, Inspector Megure, who was originally in charge of the murder case, left with his subordinates. Apart from a few ordinary police officers maintaining order and protecting the crime scene, the only people at the scene were members of the jutsu world.

Gojo Satoru casually greeted the person in charge and then led Jingyuan toward the corpse.

"It might be a little nauseating," Gojo Satoru kindly reminded him.

Jing Yuan nodded, indicating that he was mentally prepared.

As someone who had fought against abundant and monstrous creatures for many years, Jingyuan had witnessed more bloody scenes than all the people present combined, but when he saw Meizi's death, he still couldn't help but frown.

“You should be able to tell too,” Gojo Satoru said in a deep voice, “This lady’s soul has been altered.”

After her soul was altered, Miko lost her human form. If it weren't for genetic testing, the police wouldn't have known who the dead person was.

Jing Yuan squatted down and carefully examined the corpse before saying, "This cursed spirit should still be in its growth stage."

Gojo Satoru tilted his head and asked, "Why do you say that?"

“Its technique is too crude,” Jingyuan said to Gojo Satoru, pointing at the corpse. “It hasn’t mastered this ability for long, and many things it does are not perfect.”

As he spoke, Jingyuan pointed out the discordant points one by one to Wutiao Wu.

"Perhaps it was deliberately so rough?" Gojo Satoru suggested.

“Whether it was done intentionally or because of a lack of ability, I can tell the difference.” Jing Yuan stood up. “Your world of sorcery is going to be busy from now on.”

With such terrifying power, the cursed spirit wanders aimlessly among the crowds, and who knows how many people will meet their untimely deaths.

"Hmm..." Gojo Satoru tapped his chin with his index finger and asked another question, "What does perfect soul modification look like?"

“It’s the ability to even alter genes,” Jing Yuan said.

"Wow!" Gojo Satoru exclaimed, his expression revealing his exaggerated fear. "Changing genes? That's something only a god could do. Could it be that the culprit we're investigating is a god who hasn't yet reached full power?"

"Perhaps." Jing Yuan stood up and asked with a smile, "What? Are you scared?"

"No." Gojo Satoru shook his head, still grinning. "Even if it really is a god, it hasn't fully grown up yet~"

Jingyuan found Gojo Satoru's reaction amusing, so he asked with a smile, "Aren't you called the Child of God? How come you have no reverence for the gods at all?"

As a leader in the world of jutsu, Jingyuan had heard Gin tell him in detail about Gojo Satoru, so he was naturally aware that Gojo was known in the jutsu world as "the six-eyed god of the Gojo family" in his childhood.

Gojo Satoru scoffed, "Japan claims to have eight million gods, but when they encounter cursed spirits, isn't it only sorcerers who step up to deal with them? Besides, what kind of god am I? My parents are just ordinary sorcerers, they have absolutely nothing to do with gods."

Furthermore, if he truly is a child of God, then why couldn't he keep his friend? If someone like that can be called a child of God, then the gods themselves are truly laughable.

Jingyuan could hear the sadness hidden beneath Gojo Satoru's mocking tone, so he considerately stopped continuing the previous topic.

“I’ve heard that cursed spirits are born from the negative emotions of humans. Ordinary people can’t control their cursed power like sorcerers, which is why cursed spirits are constantly being created.” Jing Yuan changed the subject.

"So, what are you trying to say?" Gojo Satoru felt that the topic had been changed a bit suddenly and was quite inexplicable.

"Don't you find it strange?" Jingyuan looked at Gojo Satoru and said, "Ordinary people without curse power can give birth to curse spirits and even give birth to sorcerers who can control curse power. It sounds very strange."

Jingyuan's golden eyes reflected Gojo Satoru's slightly surprised yet exceptionally refined face.

"Gojo-kun, have you ever thought about this? If, as you say, cursed spirits are born from the negative emotions of ordinary people, then why hasn't the Flower Country, which is just across the sea from Japan, produced cursed spirits and sorcerers like Japan has?"

"Cursed spirits are born from the various negative emotions of ordinary people. The population of the Flower Kingdom is several times that of Japan. How could they not emit more negative emotions than Japan? So why do cursed spirits almost only exist in Japan?"

"And..." Jing Yuan asked with a smile, "I'm really curious, how were the first cursed spirits and the first cursed sorcerers born?"

A few muffled claps of thunder came from outside the window, followed by a gust of wind.

The wind blew in through the window that wasn't closed properly, making their hair a mess.

Gojo Satoru had never felt that making a sound was so difficult for his vocal cords. He remained silent for a long time before asking in a hoarse voice, "Kagemoto, what exactly do you want to say?"

"It's nothing." Jing Yuan smiled at him and then said, "I just feel that many of the claims in the world of sorcery are not logically consistent."

Without looking at Gojo Satoru again, Kagemoto walked to the windowsill, preparing to close the window.

Just then, with a whoosh, the rain finally began to fall.

The rain was so heavy it seemed to be drowning the whole world.

"Will the rain wash away the traces of the curse?" Jingyuan turned around and asked Gojo Satoru.

Gojo Satoru subconsciously replied, "No."

Moreover, with his six eyes, he wouldn't miss even the slightest trace.

"Okay, that's good." He was worried that it would affect their pursuit of the murderer.

In the past, Jing Yuan had always fought against the abundant evil creatures on the battlefield as a general. He rarely came into contact with this kind of work of solving cases and tracking down murderers. In addition, the perpetrator was a cursed spirit that he had never encountered before, so all of this was quite strange to him.

"Can you see where the murderer ran off to?" Jing Yuan asked.

Gojou nodded: "To the east."

The two followed the trail and stopped in front of a house with a sign that read "Kurosawa".

"It's kind of like a haunted house," Jing Yuan said, looking at the Kurosawa mansion, which hadn't been maintained in a long time and was overgrown with weeds. "Are you sure the cursed spirit is hiding in this house?"

Gojo Satoru remained silent, his eyes wide as he carefully examined the traces left by the cursed spirit.

“That’s right, that guy is inside,” Gojo Satoru said.

"Then I'll be rude."

Jingyuan and Gojo Satoru climbed over the wall and went inside.

Although the weeds in the yard indicated that the house had been uninhabited for a long time, Jingyuan and Gojo Satoru were still choked by the excessive dust inside.

“There’s been no one here for at least ten years,” Gojo Satoru said. “No wonder it’s become a gathering place for cursed spirits.”

"Are there other cursed spirits?" Jing Yuan asked.

Gojo Satoru had already put away his sunglasses and said with a somewhat serious expression, "Four different types of cursed power, and all of them are top-grade cursed spirits."

What he didn't say was that he was very familiar with one of those magical powers.

Jing Yuan noticed that his expression was a little off, but didn't say anything, just smiled and said, "Looks like we've won the lottery~"

As he spoke, Jing Yuan stretched out his right hand and opened the tightly closed door in front of the two of them.

The moment they opened the door, the surrounding scenery changed instantly. It was as if they had opened Doraemon's teleportation portal and were transported directly to the seaside.

Looking at the sand beneath his feet and the sea not far away, Gojo Satoru said, "Hmm, it seems to be a cursed spirit related to the sea."

“That’s right.” A voice suddenly rang out behind them.

The speaker was a cursed spirit who appeared to be a young man. His face was covered with sutures, his blue hair was tied into three strands, and his eyes were different colors, one gray and one blue.

“Nice to meet you, my name is Zhenren,” he said.

Gojo Satoru did not respond to his words, but instead turned his gaze to the sea where the waves were constantly crashing.

There are two things inside.

"Are we inside a fish's belly?" Jing Yuan asked curiously.

He realized that he and Gojo Satoru were no longer in the same space.

Gojo Satoru gave a slightly manic smile: "Why don't you give it a try and see?"

After he finished speaking, a small red ball appeared at his fingertips and shot towards the boundless sea with the force of thunder.

With a loud bang, a violent tremor occurred within a ten-mile radius of the Kurosawa residence.

"What happened? Was it an earthquake?" Ai Haibara grabbed the table to avoid falling, but she was most worried about the elderly man. "Doctor, are you alright?"

Professor Agasa pulled himself up from the sofa and said weakly, "I'm fine, I just bumped my head."

The girl rushed over to help the old man up, unaware that the gecko monster that had been clinging to the window was slowly approaching them.

Just as the monster opened its massive mouth, about to swallow the two of them whole, a long blade flew over and pinned the gecko monster to the spot.

The monster let out a sharp scream, and the high-frequency sound waves made Ai Haibara and Professor Agasa's heads buzz, causing them to lose consciousness and collapse to the ground.

Then, someone slowly walked over.

The boy was wearing the uniform of the spellcasting academy, except that the top was white.

The man stepped on the gecko monster's tail, then turned the samurai sword pinning it in place, finally ending the monster's life.

Seeing Ai Haibara and Professor Agasa unconscious, the boy named Yuta Otokotsu said somewhat apologetically, "I seem to be a little late, I'm so sorry."

Sheathing his katana, Yuta Otsukoshi carried one person in each hand, laid them on the bed, and then jumped out of the broken window.

The girl with glasses said with a hint of disdain, "You're so slow, Yuta."

"Sorry to keep you waiting, Maki," Yuta Otsuko said apologetically. "Let's hurry to the next location."

Zenin Maki didn't really want to argue with him; she just always spoke in that tone.

She checked the map in her phone's photo album, and after confirming it was correct, said, "There are still three places left, let's go."

The two figures quickly disappeared into the heavy rain.

Let's go back to the story of Kagemoto and Gojo Satoru.

After forcing the cursed spirit hidden in the sea out, Gojo Satoru excitedly exclaimed, "Kagemoto, look!"

Jing Yuan followed his finger and saw a short, blue creature with a Mount Fuji on its head, flames constantly erupting from the mountain's rim.

“A perfect hot pot!” Gojo Satoru exclaimed.

Jing Yuan: "..."

The Cursed Spirit: "..."

Louhu was furious. A huge ball of flame suddenly erupted from Mount Fuji above his head as he roared, "I'll tear you to pieces, you brat!"

The idea was nice, but reality was cruel. This cursed spirit, which was classified as a special-grade cursed spirit in the world of cursed arts, couldn't withstand more than a few moves from Gojo Satoru before having its head twisted off.

"You won't die even like this?" Jingyuan curiously leaned over and poked the cursed spirit that was still cursing Gojo Satoru.

Gojo Satoru explained, "The cursed spirit's vitality is quite tenacious, but I was careful with my strength just now and didn't damage it. Hmm, the flame size can be adjusted using the things on both sides of its head, it's truly a perfect furnace!"

"You two wretched brats!" Louhu roared angrily, then added, "Master, are you just going to stand there and watch? These two guys have been chasing after you!"

The real person, who was about to sneak away, froze, then turned back and said with a smile, "Louhu, if you can't even beat them, how could I possibly be their match?"

"So you're planning to abandon your companions?" Jing Yuan asked.

The real person shrugged and sighed helplessly: "There's nothing I can do about it. I'm only a short time old, and I haven't fully mastered my abilities yet. There's really no chance of winning against you guys."

"So, are you going to surrender?" Jing Yuan asked with a smile.

The real person laughed and replied, "No way!"

After saying that, he spat out a bunch of strange-looking things from his mouth. Those things grew as they were carried by the wind, and eventually their bodies became as big as small mountains.

These foul-smelling monsters mumbled something incoherently as they launched a swift attack on Jing Yuan.

Jing Yuan naturally knew that these ugly monsters were actually humans who had been forcibly modified by real people, but he did not stop at all.

He raised his hand, and Shi Huomeng appeared in front of him.

Swing your sword and slash!

With just one move, the roaring monsters were reduced to ashes, not a single one remaining.

Seeing the white-haired youth wielding the array blade, Zhenren subconsciously took a few steps back, sweat beading on his forehead: "Hey, hey, hey, don't you have any mercy? The one who just died under your blade was a human just like you!"

Jing Yuan didn't reply to him, but just looked at him quietly with a blank expression.

"Hahaha! That look in your eyes, you really hate me, don't you? But I didn't kill them, you're the one who killed them." The real person still tried to make Jing Yuan feel guilty towards the modified humans. "They could have been saved, but you killed them directly..."

“Lies.” Jing Yuan directly exposed his lie. “Their souls have been destroyed by you. Now all that’s left are empty shells and some resentment from their lives.”

"Ah, I've been exposed." Makoto laughed helplessly. "I thought that apart from Gojo Satoru, the world of jutsu was no threat. I never expected someone like you to appear."

It seems that Xia Youjie's information to them was incomplete. Indeed, humans and cursed spirits cannot trust each other.

Jing Yuan had no habit of wasting words with his enemies, so he raised his hand to kill Zhenren. But at that moment, something that looked like a Rubik's Cube attacked him. At the same time, Zhenren's body instantly turned into countless ant-sized pieces of flesh, which fell to the ground and scattered.

“Prison Gate, open the gate.” A gentle voice sounded behind Jing Yuan.

Dodging the Rubik's Cube, Jing Yuan turned around and asked, "Who are you?"

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Jingyuan." The man introduced himself with a smile, "I am Xia Youjie."

Upon hearing this name, Jingyuan instinctively looked at Gojo Satoru, and sure enough, Gojo Satoru was completely stunned.

A cassock, long hair, earrings, and that face that was all too familiar.

"Yo, Wu." The young man smiled and raised his hand to greet him. "Long time no see."

"Jay?" Gojo Satoru stared wide-eyed in disbelief, the scene of him killing Natsuyu Jay last year flashing through his mind.

Impossible, how could this person be Xia Youjie? But Liu Yan told him that the person in front of him was not an imposter, he was Xia Youjie.

Just then, the sealing conditions of the prison gate were met, and Gojo Satoru was bound, and the curse power on his body could no longer be sensed.

Gokumonjo was created after the death of the monk Genshin. It is said to be able to seal everything and was specifically sought by Rōsaku to deal with Gojō Sō.

“Of course I’m Xia Youjie,” the young man said with a smile. “What? Why are you looking at me like that? We’re friends, after all. You’re really hurting my feelings.”

“No, you’re not Jack.” Gojo Satoru stared intently at him.

Xia Youjie is dead; he was killed by his own hands.

"What did you do to Jay's body?" Gojo Satoru wasn't stupid; he quickly realized what was going on.

"What do you think?" the person wearing Xia Youjie's disguise said with a grin. "Guess what I did to bring you old friends together again?"

"Why go through all that trouble?" Jing Yuan's voice rang out softly, and then a golden light appeared, and the prison gate that had been binding Wu Tiaowu was instantly shattered into pieces.

Then, he struck again.

The stitches on Xia Youjie's head were cut off, revealing a disgusting monster inside.

"What's this?!"

Gojo Satoru stared in shock at the thing that looked like a brain but also had teeth.

“What an interesting thing.” Jing Yuan looked at Lu Suo with a smile in his eyes. “I originally thought you were a creature like Sui Yang, but I didn’t expect you to be so ugly.”

Lu Suo stared at Jing Yuan, asking incredulously, "Who exactly are you?"

It has hidden itself in the human world for thousands of years, and its true form has never been discovered. Even the Six-Eyed One, who is said to be able to see through everything, could not find it. But now it has been discovered by Jing Yuan...

“Me?” Jing Yuan said with a smile, “I’m just an ordinary traveler.”
