Class reunion
To be honest, Zhou Chenjin and Chen Xiaojing never expected it to be such a big class reunion.
Old Class Teacher Qiu doesn't like to spend money and is used to being frugal. He didn't become a homeroom teacher again after finishing teaching them, so it's surprising that he extended an invitation this time.
The senior students had finished their college entrance exams, but the junior students hadn't moved in yet, so they temporarily borrowed the senior classrooms. The classrooms, unchanged, saw batch after batch of students leave, and after leaving the ivory tower, they were all forced to start building their own careers.
When Chen Xiaojing and Zhou Chenjin entered the classroom, almost everyone's eyes were focused on Chen Xiaojing's fingers. Shang Shui Luoying's recent troubles had been making headlines; everyone at that age loved surfing, and no one was unaware of the terrible things she had experienced.
However, despite the focus of attention, no one spoke from beginning to end.
The classroom fell silent for a moment.
Zhou Chenjin pulled her to sit in a secluded spot in the classroom, surrounded by insiders like Wang Ningshu and Ma Dou. They chatted about the plot of a recently popular novel and discussed how to snatch the author's autograph.
"Come on, come on, Mr. Wang is treating everyone to snacks!"
Wang Bo and Park rushed into the classroom carrying a big box of snacks: "Hey, don't be so quiet! Come on, we sent a red envelope in the group chat. The one with the best luck, remember to pass it on!"
Upon hearing that there were red envelopes, the enthusiasm of the people in the classroom was instantly ignited, and they all took out their phones to grab the red envelopes.
"Hey, how much did you steal?"
"More than a hundred..."
"Huh? That's not right, I only won a little over a hundred, holy crap, how come you have such amazing luck!"
The boys started making a ruckus, and the girls began chatting about things like nail polish and bags—Wang Yu, who had the most people around Director Wang, was having a great time listening to her talk about celebrity gossip on set.
"Why isn't anyone chatting or playing with you, Minister Zhou?"
Sensing an opportunity to stir things up, Wu Yuxing suddenly leaned over: "What? What Minister Zhou?"
Zhou Chenjin held up her newly done manicure with a flourish: "What a beautiful design, it even has rhinestones! It's a pity that a certain great writer can't get one now..."
Chen Xiaojing: "..."
Ah Qiu brought in a bunch of things. He's in his fifties now, a retired teacher, and has received a lot of honors. They say fame and fortune are good for you, and he's actually in better shape than before.
Although Chen Xiaojing had often complained about him before, and he never thought of her when he handed out the materials he had compiled to the students in Class A who were moving between classes—she didn't like him much back then.
Awei helped distribute the snacks, one bag for each person. They were some popular snacks at the moment, not much, just enough to satisfy a craving.
"Oh no, I'm late, I'm so sorry."
The door, which was slightly ajar by Ah Qiu, was suddenly pushed open and slammed against the wall with a loud thud.
"Holy crap, sir!"
Wang Bo slammed his fist on the table excitedly and exclaimed, "Holy crap! That's incredible!"
After graduation, everyone went their separate ways. Some were admitted to universities, some chose to retake the exam, and others joined the army.
Chen Sihan, who had a strained relationship with his family before the college entrance examination, was among those who enlisted in the army. Now he is an outstanding person, protecting his country.
It was a peaceful and harmonious scene.
"You can't say that high school is an ivory tower. If you have to say it, you can only say that we were all naive back then, treating everyone with the most sincere heart, and being treated with sincerity by everyone."
At class reunions, there are always people who ask for leave and can't come. Being busy with life may be one reason, but there is also a high probability that they are worried that their lives are not so good.
Zhou Chenjin rarely shared her thoughts with her: "Not everyone can achieve great things at a young age, but everyone can choose a direction that interests them and work hard for it."
She chose not to reveal her identity as the head of HW's investment department, but instead pretended to be an ordinary employee to experience the simple and happy days before she was forced to view the other person with malice.
"Alright, everyone, go for a walk. We'll have lunch together in the cafeteria later." A-Qiu opened the classroom door for them. "You can also go see your teachers. They should all be in the second and first years of high school."
