My name is Zhang Renyin

My name is Zhang Renyin

"Hello... hello, young man, would you like to add me on WeChat?" Chen Xiaojing opened her personal WeChat QR code and approached the man.

“Sure, my name is Zhang Renyin.” He was at most in his early twenties, and just standing there, he was as aloof and proud as a pine tree on a snow-capped mountain. “I know you, the youngest member of the Writers Association. Your name was quite well-known online a while ago.”

Chen Xiaojing was flattered: "Oh? Thank you." Zhang Renyin scanned her WeChat. "Xiaojing is worried about her changing hair, and Ye Yin should feel the cold moonlight." Zhang Renyin picked up a takeout cappuccino. "It's quite a coincidence. You can come into my office anytime from now on." His smile was as sunny as the sun, yet he had a refined and gentle appearance, perfectly matching Chen Xiaojing's criteria for a partner.

Fu Huanian stood there, exchanging bewildered glances with Zhou Chenjin. Were these two really meeting for the first time? They seemed far too familiar with each other. "Xiaojing," Zhou Chenjin began to doubt her own romantic views honed by countless novel readings, "Have you ever saved his life or anything? Things are moving too fast." Chen Xiaojing, happily engrossed in scrolling through Zhang Renyin's WeChat Moments, ignored Zhou Chenjin's nagging, finding it too noisy.

Following his WeChat Moments, Chen Xiaojing stumbled upon his Weibo account and casually added him to her special follow list.

Zhang Renyin's Weibo account is verified under her real name, and she has a certain influence in her field. She doesn't post on Weibo very often; in the seven or eight years since she opened her account, she has only posted about fifty posts. Of those fifty posts, a dozen or twenty were promotional posts for her novels after "Shangshui Luoying" became popular.

Fu Huanian didn't have much interaction with Chen Xiaojing, so he stepped outside his understanding of acquaintances and analyzed it in a completely unfamiliar way: "Your book 'Giving You a Lifetime of Splendor' is quite good, and Professor Zhang must be a fan of your books." Otherwise, it wouldn't make any sense at all. What relationship could an electrical engineering expert have with a modern online literature writer?

Zhou Chenjin packed up her laptop bag and told the two people she had brought there that they could leave the coffee shop. The staff wouldn't kick them out, but they had been sitting there for over an hour.

Couples strolled hand-in-hand across campus, their passionate youthful romances a testament to finding the right person at the best age. S University of Science and Technology fostered an open academic atmosphere, encouraging every student to pursue freedom.

When the three of them walked side by side, Chen Xiaojing would always subconsciously walk to Zhou Chenjin's right. They were a perfectly good young couple, and she had to be some kind of super high-wattage third wheel. It was so annoying.

"Let's go for barbecue tonight! I know a new, reasonably priced barbecue place that just opened. All that data will be ready soon, remember to message me!" Zhou Chenjin had been incredibly busy these past few days and had been craving the barbecue a few hundred meters to the left of the school gate. Now that she finally had time, she was overjoyed. "I'm not going. You two go out for skewers and take me with you. That would be so strange. I'm thinking of trying to get Zhang Renyin to go out with me."

Based on the idea Zhou Chenjin had taught her before, a meal often solidified the relationship. She had never tried it before, but now that she had someone she liked, she naturally wanted to put it into practice.

"Okay, call me if you need my help." Zhou Chenjin pulled Fu Huanian away, leaving Chen Xiaojing standing alone at a three-way intersection near S City University of Science and Technology, turning around.

Her phone, which was in her pocket, pushed out the latest Weibo post: the embarrassing situation of a R country diplomat who was relentlessly attacked by the media at a recent diplomatic event. Chen Xiaojing stood there and watched the video. The young diplomat was speechless in the face of the flashing lights and questions from foreign media. He covered his face, mumbled a few words, and then left the stage.

This is a huge loss of face for Country R!

"Sister!" Chen Xiaojing was about to return to her dormitory when she heard a little girl's voice calling her sister. She instinctively turned around and saw an unexpected visitor. The little girl's name was He Xi, the granddaughter of a distant relative whose name she didn't know, and the person she had been entrusted to take care of three years ago.

"Xiao Hexi, what are you doing here? Where's your mother?" The child, who had somehow gotten past security to get in and find her, asked, "How did you get in here to find your sister?"

“She’s not my mother! She’s a bad person!” He Xi tugged at her clothes. “I saw with my own eyes that she put a lot of sleeping pills in Grandpa’s water! Grandma told me I couldn’t take too many of those pills.”

? ? ?

Things suddenly became serious.

“That shouldn’t be the case. Your grandma has told us so many times how gentle and sensible your mother is. Xiao Hexi, are you remembering wrong?” Chen Xiaojing had a peaceful and smooth life since childhood. She was nineteen years old this year, but she hadn’t learned how to plot against others. “No! Grandma told me herself that there was something wrong with Mom!”

Parents can't mistake their own children, so it seems that He Xi's mother does indeed have a problem.

"He Xi, don't disturb that older sister, come quickly." A woman's voice came from behind Chen Xiaojing into her mind.
