Chapter Five: Guests Have Arrived!

"You don't need to come anymore after today!" the supervisor roared at Su Bai aggressively.

Su Bai packed her things and left the ticket office without expression. These past few days, her supervisor had been picking on her for no reason, nitpicking over the smallest mistakes.

She had recently heard a rumor that her supervisor wanted to put her niece in the job, and was worried about not having a position, so she already knew she would be fired. Therefore, she was mentally prepared, so she simply packed her things, grabbed her bag, collected her salary for the month, and left.

Su Bai was furious. She paced around, feeling extremely frustrated. It was the time when tourists were looking for food, and she saw long queues at the restaurants she usually ate at. Frustrated, she walked out.

"Warm Food Shop? When did a new restaurant open here?"

Su Bai stood at the entrance of the restaurant, gazing at its harmonious and natural décor, feeling a sense of fondness. However, since there were few people around, she hesitated at the door.

"Host, your guest has arrived!" Yi Yi was in high spirits today, focusing intently on helping Tao Zhizhi watch the shop.

Tao Zhizhi put the prepared ingredients aside in the kitchen, stepped outside, and saw a girl wearing a simple white t-shirt and light blue jeans standing in the doorway, smiling.

"Hello, are you here for a meal? Our ingredients are fresh, and our dishes are prepared in a unique way. Would you like to come in and try some?"

Su Bai smiled awkwardly, and, who was not usually good at refusing, nodded and followed Tao Zhizhi into the restaurant.

"This is our menu, take a look," Tao Zhizhi said to Su Bai, pointing to the price list she had hand-drawn on the wall.

As soon as Su Bai entered the restaurant, he smelled a sweet coconut aroma that tempted him to stay. Looking at the menu, he ordered oyster omelet and sea coconut and pear soup, though he was a little short on cash.

Tao Zhizhi took the menu and went back to the kitchen to cook. Su Bai sat in the restaurant and looked around. The restaurant's fresh and natural decor and comfortable chairs made her feel much better. The aroma of oyster omelets wafted from the kitchen, and Su Bai's stomach, which hadn't eaten breakfast, started rumbling.

A moment later, Tao Zhizhi came out with a tray. The closer you got, the stronger the aroma became. Su Bai couldn't wait to scoop a bowl of soup into a small bowl and take a sip.

The aromas of coconut and pear spread in her mouth, and her eyes widened like saucers. The overall taste was refreshing and not greasy, gently soothing her stomach. This first bite was amazing.

She picked up an oyster omelet; the golden egg yolk coated the tender oyster meat, and under the baptism of hot oil, it was fried until crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The freshness of the oyster and the smoothness of the egg yolk combined perfectly, making it irresistible.

Su Bai muttered to himself, "My God, what a delicious treat! I've been eating oyster omelets all this time for nothing."

Su Bai devoured the entire oyster omelet in a flash, then took a few sips of soup, instantly feeling like she could still eat more, so she ordered another serving of braised pork knuckle, which she had previously thought was too expensive.

As a native of Shimizu City, she really liked the name. She then sipped the soup, enjoying the unique flavors of the sea coconut and snow pear.

Tao Zhizhi returned to the kitchen and opened the system panel:

Host: Tao Zhizhi

Restaurant: Warm Food Stall

5 recipes learned

Deliciousness Points: -20

Happiness level: 10

Su Bai provided 80 points of deliciousness, but the happiness points were very low. Tao Zhizhi couldn't understand it, but decided to let it go. Maybe she had some unresolved issues on her mind.

——

"Honey, let's stay here. I don't want to leave." A clear, melodious female voice came from outside the restaurant.

"Alright, let's just grab something to eat first," the man replied, holding the little boy's hand and thinking for a few seconds.

The family entered the warm food stall, with the child walking obediently beside them. Upon seeing this, Tao Zhizhi immediately brought out a high chair for the children, and they sat down facing the window.

The woman smiled and thanked Tao Zhizhi, then took the menu and looked at it. She only ordered some light dishes before handing it to the child's father to order. The family atmosphere was peaceful and harmonious, which was heartwarming to see.

After a while, when Tao Zhizhi took the menu, she casually handed over the children's milk she had taken from the kitchen. The woman thanked her, opened the bottle, and handed it to the child, which was quite unusual.

The child has not spoken a word since entering, and his facial expressions are very limited. If you observe closely, you will find that the woman's beautiful almond-shaped eyes look at the child with sadness.

The little boy looked to be about two or three years old. He was wearing a cream-colored overall with a cute cartoon bear head on it, a soft shirt underneath, and a matching cream-colored fisherman's hat. He was holding a spotted puppy plush toy in his hand.

The baby is exquisite and adorable, with a chubby, round face that is incredibly cute. However, his big eyes lack the curiosity that a typical child would have in a new environment; they appear rather bland and indifferent.

Especially after entering the restaurant, he kept staring intently at the butterfly curtains that Tao Zhizhi had installed on the window for aesthetic purposes.

Tao Zhizhi took the menu and returned to the kitchen, unaware of the child's unusual behavior. She quickly heated the oil in the wok, and the restaurant was filled with the salty aroma of pig's trotters and the spicy aroma of beef, which made the child's father frequently turn around to look in the direction of the kitchen.

The little boy stared blankly for a moment. After tasting the milk in his mother's hand, his attention shifted from the hanging curtain to the milk, which he then gulped down completely.

When the little boy couldn't suck it up, he put the bottle on the table and started playing with the spotted puppy. A moment later, Tao Zhizhi came out carrying a tray; the aroma of the food mingled, awakening people's most primal appetites.

The child's father was about to start eating, but the woman stopped him, restraining her own desires. She took out her phone and started snapping photos like crazy. Unable to resist any longer, she didn't even edit the pictures before picking up her chopsticks and starting to eat. The tender and flavorful pork knuckles paired with refreshing greens, the delicious oyster omelet and scallop and winter melon balls, and a sip of sweet pear soup—the taste was simply irresistible! All her worries vanished!

The little boy was also captivated by the aroma of the food, abandoning his toy dog and staring intently at the plate of dishes. But his unscrupulous parents had already forgotten about him, preoccupied with their own delicious meal.

Seeing this, the quiet child anxiously patted the chair, his voice, which had been quiet for a long time, began to crack, his eyes shifting from blank to excited, his face turning red, and he shouted with all his might, "Ah! Ah! Eat!"

The couple paused for a few seconds upon hearing the sound. The woman turned to look at the little boy and saw him begin to express his emotions. His eyes conveyed longing, and his beautiful almond-shaped eyes filled with tears, a mixture of self-reproach and joy.

The man clenched his fists, a crack appearing on his usually composed face, a mixture of joy and slight anger.
