After several rounds of drinks, only Lan Xin remained standing, though she was already somewhat dazed. She swayed as she raised her glass and clinked it against Tao Zhizhi's, making a soft thud. Seeing this, Qin Huaijin picked up the equally dizzy Shu Nian.
Lan Xin was still somewhat conscious and was helped back to her room by hotel staff. Tao Zhizhi, unable to bear the effects of her drunkenness, slumped on the table and mumbled as Fu Jue carried her away:
"Let's drink until we drop! One more drink, please!"
Tao Zhizhi felt uncomfortable and made a fuss about getting off him. Fu Jue saw that she was about to fall, so he quickly helped her to touch the ground. She was unsteady on her feet and seemed to fall if she took another step.
Fu Jue supported her waist, and Tao Zhizhi leaned against his chest. The alcohol emboldened her, and her soft, boneless little hand slapped against his heart, making him tense up involuntarily.
"Xiao Xin, why are you so hard? You've been working out behind my back~ Uh~"
Tao Zhizhi looked up with a dazed expression, pouting and pinching her lips in dissatisfaction.
Fu Jue chuckled and pinched the tip of her nose, saying indulgently, "Little drunkard, do you want to take a closer look at who I am?"
His handsome face drew closer, and a gentle, magnetic voice sounded in her ear. She asked, bewildered, "Ah~ who are you?"
The delicate fragrance of fruit wine wafted onto Fu Jue's face with his warm breath, and a silly smile appeared on his face:
"It's my Fu Fu~"
The soft tone made Fu Jue's Adam's apple bob uncomfortably, but drunkards are the most unreasonable. She saw him press his arm against the flower bed and step on it, then unsteadily spread her arms and proudly raised her head:
"Why doesn't Consort Fu kneel?! I am the Emperor!"
The sudden appearance of the bull caught Fu Jue off guard. Passersby, suppressing their laughter, stood at a distance. Seeing that Fu Jue didn't answer, she poked him with her finger: "Answer me! I'll spare your life!"
Fu Jue nervously spread his arms to protect her, afraid she might stumble and fall forward, and couldn't help but smile wryly.
"May Your Majesty come down? I know I was wrong, so please punish me when we get back, okay?"
"No! You should address me as 'your concubine'."
Tao, the Drunken Emperor, shook her dizzy head, her index finger waving left and right in dissatisfaction as she corrected him. Fu Jue's ears flushed red, and he shyly bit his lip, responding in a low voice:
"Your Majesty, I know I was wrong—"
"Yes, yes, I am magnanimous and will forgive my beloved consort—ah!"
Tao Zhizhi slipped and fell backward, but Fu Jue caught her in his arms in time. Without giving her a chance to react, he held her tightly and strode into the hotel.
During this time, Tao Zhizhi was disobedient and fidgeting, so Fu Jue angrily slapped her lightly. Tao Zhizhi became even more disruptive, crying out incoherently:
"Fu Fu, you're being naughty! Don't you know you can't touch the Emperor's bottom?!"
Fu Jue chuckled and sighed, only then realizing that she had such a mischievous side. On the way back to her room, she didn't show it on her face despite the ambiguous glances she received from passersby, but if there was a hole in the ground, she would immediately crawl into it.
"drop--"
Finally shielded from the strange gazes from outside, the little drunkard still wouldn't give up. Fu Jue put her on the bed, forcefully loosened his tie to shut her mouth, which was still trying to burst into song, and finally, his ears were quiet.
Perhaps Tao Zhizhi had drunk too much tonight, because Fu Jue's face was also flushed, his eyes were glazed, and his white shirt was crumpled up, unable to hide his strong upper body.
"Mmm, let go—"
Tao Zhizhi burst out with strength to push Fu Jue off her, and pretended to vomit by the bedside. Fu Jue grabbed a trash can from nearby to prevent her from vomiting on the ground.
"vomit--"
The romantic atmosphere in the room vanished instantly. Fu Jue glanced down at his disheveled appearance, smiled helplessly, and playfully pinched her cheek, his tone indulgent:
"What am I supposed to do with you, Your Majesty?"
Fu Jue resignedly cleaned up the mess for her. Tao Zhizhi felt comfortable and tilted her head back on the bed, spreading her legs wide and taking over the whole bed. She was drowsy and said, "Hey."
He went to the bathroom and rummaged for makeup remover. He took a cotton cloth, soaked it in the remover, and gently removed her makeup. Her face, now without makeup, had a sweet and fresh look. Fu Jue lovingly placed a kiss on her face.
"Sweet dreams, my love."
The next morning, Tao Zhizhi, her head throbbing, regained her senses. Her mind was automatically replaying the scene of her drunken rampage the day before. Her fingertips involuntarily touched her forehead, and she pulled the blanket over her head, rolling around and screaming:
"Ahhh, this is so frustrating! It'll cost me a three-bedroom apartment!!!"
"Pfft—"
Fu Jue sat casually on the sofa, a smile playing on his lips. He propped his head up with one hand and watched her with tenderness. When Tao Zhizhi sat up again from the covers, her hair disheveled and her face flushed, she realized that he had witnessed her crazy behavior.
Unable to look up at the sky, he forced a smile and greeted, "Haha, good morning!"
Fu Jue approached with a half-smile, his expression mocking, and said jokingly:
"Have you remembered the Emperor?"
"Are you satisfied with me kneeling before you now, Your Majesty? Hmm?"
Tao Zhizhi was filled with shame and indignation. She jumped up and covered his mouth. Now she finally understood why some people say that being drunk isn't scary, but being reminded of the incident afterward. She forcefully ordered Fu Jue:
"You're not allowed to say it!"
"I am now a hypnotist, and I command you to forget what happened last night."
Fu Jue gently nuzzled her hand with his face, then kissed her diamond ring, his tenderness overflowing.
"I can't forget it, last night was so wonderful."
"But—if it is His Majesty who commands me to forget, then I would naturally dare not disobey!"
Seeing that Tao Zhizhi was about to explode, he realized he had gone too far and quickly changed the subject:
"Does your head hurt? Drink some hangover soup to relieve it."
The hangover soup was shoved right in front of Tao Zhizhi, leaving her speechless and seething with anger.
"Okay, thank you, my beloved concubine!"
Tao Zhizhi put down the bowl and ran to the bathroom to wash up. She felt a little disgusted with herself after drinking last night and couldn't accept eating without brushing her teeth. As soon as she touched the makeup remover, she found her face clean and smiled happily: "[Consort Fu is so sensible, I'm very satisfied!]"
She came out and frowned at the unpleasant smell of the hangover soup, then blinked guiltily, "I suddenly feel like my head doesn't hurt anymore, can I not drink it?"
Fu Jue just smiled and looked at her. Tao Zhizhi knew she couldn't escape drinking it all in one gulp. Just as she thought, it tasted terrible!
"Open your mouth—"
He fed her the white peach-flavored candy he had prepared. Ever since he had experienced the pleasure of feeding her, he had always carried candy with him. Today it came in handy; the refreshing fragrance of white peach masked the unpleasant astringent taste.
The two walked hand in hand into the restaurant. The other friends who had come with them yesterday to offer their blessings stared at them teasingly. Tao Zhizhi looked down at her clothes in confusion. Fu Jue's newly bought dress was elegant and appropriate. She looked back in bewilderment.
As he approached Cen Lin, he teased Fu Jue, "Good morning, Consort Fu! Good morning, sister-in-law!"
Tao Zhizhi's face suddenly turned bright red; it turned out that an even bigger challenge awaited her!
She spent the entire breakfast feeling shy. Fu Jue, who was beside her, seemed used to the stares from everyone and elegantly served Tao Zhizhi porridge: "You didn't eat much yesterday, eat more."
