Fu Jue glared at Coach Wen with dissatisfaction, but his hands involuntarily clenched until there was no gap between them.
Coach Wen reluctantly raised his hands, a smile of happiness for Fu Jue on his face as he jokingly remarked:
"Okay, okay, you can continue! I was wrong, I was wrong!"
Tao Zhizhi sensed the teasing in his words. Her burning body temperature rose from her arms to her cheeks. She didn't dare to look Coach Wen in the eye. She squeezed Fu Jue's hand, signaling him to cooperate with the base's work.
Upon receiving the signal, Fu Jue quickly freed himself from his restraints and, with a heart full of emotion, led her away from the landing site.
Fu Jue was worried that his sudden confession would disrupt Tao Zhizhi's rhythm, so he asked:
"Zhizhi, do you want to continue playing?"
Tao Zhizhi was just about to ask Fu Jue to let go, still excited about the unknown and naturally not yet satisfied. Hearing his question, her eyes lit up, and she excitedly hugged his arm, which was intertwined with hers.
"want!"
"Coach Wen told me there's a racetrack nearby, I want to go too!"
No sooner had they confirmed their relationship than Tao Zhizhi unhesitatingly revealed her wild side, gently shaking Fu Jue's arm.
"Looks like you've talked quite a bit, you even know about the racetrack!"
The tone of her voice didn't sound like she was blaming someone for being spied on; rather, it carried a hint of jealousy, as if she hadn't told the person herself.
Once Tao Zhizhi had calmed down, she once again took to the skies, but this time Fu Jue was there to pick her up at the landing point.
Finally having had her fill of fun, Tao Zhizhi said goodbye to Coach Wen and eagerly sat in the passenger seat of Fu Jue's car, leaning against the window like a parent waiting for their child to finish talking.
"Fu Jue, I'm not the first guy to meet your girlfriend, am I?!"
Coach Wen patted him on the shoulder teasingly.
"You're a lucky boy. You can tell she's a girl who's been pampered by her parents since childhood. She has such clear eyes."
"Oh, I didn't have time last time—"
With Fu Jue's back to Tao Zhizhi, Coach Wen inadvertently caught a glimpse of Tao Zhizhi smiling and a hint of envy flashed in his eyes:
"Never mind, let's talk about it next time we meet. Your girlfriend is waiting."
Coach Wen swallowed the words he wanted to say, gestured for Fu Jue to turn around, sighed, and turned to leave.
He received a clear instruction from Coach Wen, strolled towards Tao Zhizhi, bent down to meet her gaze, and gently and affectionately patted her head:
"Sorry, I'm only now realizing how eager you are."
Tao Zhizhi shook her head following his hand:
"No, I'm just breathing in some fresh air."
Fu Jue didn't expose her, and quickened his pace to drive her into the racetrack.
After entering the club, Fu Jue introduced her to all the big and small things in the club, and she seemed very familiar with it.
He led Tao Zhizhi past a wall of trophies, and he knew the story of each trophy by heart, his tone full of pride.
"Fu Jue, which do you prefer, skydiving or racing?"
"Pfft—"
Fu Jue couldn't help but laugh when he heard this classic question.
There were still a few people enjoying themselves in the lane. Tao Zhizhi and her companion stood in the VIP viewing area, watching the cars speeding by.
"If you ask me for the answer, I will answer without hesitation—it's racing."
"The moment I got into the car, I felt incredibly relaxed. This club holds ten years of my memories. No matter what I was feeling, I would always have a go to experience the thrill of speed and forget many things."
Tao Zhizhi's thoughts had long since shifted from the driveway to Fu Jue, and she felt a longing for his own youth, when he must have been even more dazzling than he is now.
"Try it? My favorite place."
Fu Jue casually picked up the helmet from the side, gently put it on Tao Zhizhi's head, and looked at her with a devout gaze.
He went to the locker room to change into a racing suit, opened the car door, held his helmet in one hand, raised his eyebrows at Tao Zhizhi, and gestured for her to get in the car.
The roar of a racing car filled the air as it sped off like an arrow. The sound of the car cutting through the wind filled Tao Zhizhi's ears, and she felt the thrill of her heart racing. It was so exhilarating!
Tao Zhizhi glanced at the serious Fu Jue beside her, wondering if this pace was too slow for him. She noticed a nonchalant look on his face, and for a moment, Tao Zhizhi saw the image of the eighteen-year-old Fu Jue, who must have been just as free and unrestrained.
After the thrilling ride ended, Tao Zhizhi was still in shock when she got off the bus. Stepping on the ground felt like walking on a layer of cotton, almost unreal.
"Are you alright?"
Tao Zhizhi took off her helmet, revealing a radiant smile that showed she had recovered well and was ready to fight again:
"Great! I've come to love racing too!"
Looking into her bright eyes, Fu Jue sighed inwardly that he had underestimated her!
After a morning of playing dangerous activities, the two of them felt hungry. Fu Jue took her to a restaurant he had booked in advance for lunch. However, their casual outfits made them seem somewhat out of place in the Western restaurant.
Tao Zhizhi raised her fair hands and asked, "I want to wash my hands."
Fu Jue made a move to take her there, but Tao Zhizhi refused and asked the waiter to lead the way.
A curly-haired woman in a pencil skirt was touching up her makeup by the sink. Seeing Tao Zhizhi's flawless natural beauty, the woman, dressed in sportswear, mocked her in the mirror.
"Tsk tsk, how come I can run into a country bumpkin in a fancy restaurant?"
She sped up her makeup touch-up, glancing at Tao Zhizhi with a look of disdain, as if afraid that her haute couture would be tainted by Tao Zhizhi's shabby appearance.
However, since she could encounter such a person even while washing her hands, Tao Zhizhi could only accept her bad luck, quickly washed her hands, and left.
Unexpectedly, the woman who had mocked her in the restroom asked Fu Jue for her contact information in a coquettish tone right in front of her.
Tao Zhizhi was so angry at the sight that she laughed. She stood a short distance away, arms crossed, watching the scene unfold.
"Hey bro, can we exchange contact information and get to know each other?"
Fu Jue suddenly caught a whiff of a strong perfume scent. Seeing her slowly approaching him, he frowned and coldly refused her:
"You smell terrible, please stay away from me."
The curly-haired woman took an awkward step back, still holding her phone, about to speak again.
"Zhizhi, why are you standing here?"
Fu Jue caught a glimpse of a familiar hem of clothing out of the corner of his eye, and quickly got up to walk away from the woman towards Tao Zhizhi.
The curly-haired woman followed his gaze to Tao Zhizhi, her face flushed with anger. She stomped her high heel in frustration, glanced at Tao Zhizhi, and stormed off, leaving with a parting remark:
"A man with no taste."
Before Tao Zhizhi could even say anything, Fu Jue was quick to distance himself from the situation, his tone tinged with grievance:
"Zhizhi, I don't know her."
She looked at Fu Jue's expression and suppressed her laughter:
"Okay, I know. Let's go eat."
She let Fu Jue lead her back to her seat without mentioning the incident at the restroom.
