Chapter 89 Buying a Car (Page 1/2)
Jiang Qian used his working time to slack off on his translation work. Gu Yunlan next to him was also busy, she took out a sweater and knitted.
This is for children to wear.
The two were busy with their own things, and when they were halfway through, they heard Feng Bowen say that it was snowing outside.
When I went out, I saw that it was really snowing.
"The snow came half a month later this year. I remember it only snowed in mid-October last year," said Gu Yunlan.
"Yes, but I don't know if our house can withstand it." Feng Bowen was a little worried.
He moved out of the single dormitory and was assigned a two-bedroom apartment, which was not only small but also shabby.
But there was nothing he could do about it, since he didn't make it in time. Han Shiguo had to renovate his house himself.
"This snow is either not falling or it will be heavy. You can't plow the road, so you have to find someone to do it." Jiang Qian said to him.
"I don't know who can do it." Feng Bowen said quickly.
"After get off work, I'll find two people to come over and help you renovate it. Just remember to buy two packs of cigarettes as a thank you gift." Gu Yunlan said.
Feng Bowen: "Okay, thank you, Sister Lan!"
They didn't stay outside anymore as it was very cold and went back to the office quickly.
Jiang Qian asked Gu Yunlan, "It's so cold, do you still have to send Mingming and Shuangshuang over there every morning?"
Gu Yunlan smiled and said, "My mother couldn't bear to see the two siblings suffer in such a cold weather, so she comes to look after the children for me in the morning."
Jiang Qian heard this and said, "Auntie has also suffered a lot."
Gu Yunlan knitted a sweater and said, "My mother doesn't have any other problems except that she likes to nag."
That's how it is during working hours. If there is work, they work. If there is no work, they do their own things. When the time is almost up, they go off work.
Gu Yunlan took Feng Bowen to find someone to repair the house.
Jiang Qian went home to make dumplings, which Han Shiguo had made in the morning. Since there was no one around and she was still a little greedy, she got a roast goose from her space to enjoy. After eating it happily, the salted fish washed her feet with water and went to bed for a nap.
When I woke up, I found that the snow outside had stopped. It only snowed for a short while in the morning, but the sky was dark.
"I think it's going to snow heavily tonight." Gu Yunlan said when she came to work.
"How about Secretary Feng's house?" Jiang Qian asked.
"I've asked for leave this afternoon, and there are still those two people to help him, so it won't be a big problem."
Gu Yunlan was right. Jiang Qian just returned home from get off work in the evening, and it started snowing heavily.
When Han Shiguo came back, his military hat was covered with snow.
"Are you cold? Come inside."
Han Shiguo smiled and said, "It's not that cold. I'm wearing enough clothes."
The house was filled with the aroma of stewed meat. Jiang Qian made pork ribs stewed with potatoes. It was the only dish, and the staple food was bean flour steamed buns.
The couple sat down and started eating.
After eating, we continued to make dumplings and steamed buns together.
Jiang Qian kneaded two bowls of dough and prepared a large bowl of stuffing, which was used to make dumplings.
Now that it’s cold, it’s very convenient to make more dumplings and freeze them so you can eat them whenever you want.
The same goes for steamed buns.
After joining the army, Jiang Qian basically ate fine grains. She wanted to eat some coarse grains, which are healthy.
So not only will we eat bean flour buns tonight, but the second bowl of flour will also be made of flour mixed with cornmeal, ready to make cornmeal buns.
Of course Han Shiguo worked with his wife, as he knew how to do all these tasks.
After wrapping the dumplings, place them on a round dustpan and take them outside to freeze. In this weather, they can be stored indoors after an hour.
The steamed buns have to be steamed in a pot, and then placed in a small winnowing basket and put in the cupboard.
