Chapter 11 Mr. Song passes away

The next morning, Uncle Wang went to the room as usual to help the old man wash up.

It turned out that the old man was found lying quietly in a brand new Tang suit.

"Young Master," Uncle Wang cried out in pain, calling out the name he had used when they first met.

Song Shuqian got up and ran into the house, "Grandpa."

For a moment, the room was filled with crying.

Although I knew this day would come, knowing that my grandfather was holding on for the longest time, I still hoped that he could stay a few more days and see more of this world.

Song Shuxi and Uncle Wang held a simple farewell ceremony in accordance with Grandpa's wishes, and only invited some close relatives and friends.

His ashes were then scattered into the Yangtze River.

Grandpa said that he had worked hard for the Song family all his life. In order to preserve the Song family's foundation, he killed his own granddaughter with his own hands, and then performed a ritual to send her to another world, where she only lived to the age of 22.

He personally sent his youngest son to join the army, and he became a pilot that everyone envied at that time. In the end, the youngest son stayed in heaven forever.

He sent his eldest son abroad so that he could learn advanced knowledge and come back to revitalize the Song family. In the end, he abandoned his wife and children for a woman, and no one knows where he is until now.

A good family ended up with the wife and children separated.

Because of his decision, the only two granddaughters in the family were separated from each other at a young age, and they could only see each other in the afterlife.

How could he not feel that his wife was being hypocritical and taking advantage of him, but he owed her all of this, and as long as she was happy, that was enough.

Now that he has left, Mr. Song feels relieved.

If there is an afterlife, he hopes to live for himself, freely.

Looking at Mr. Song like this, Song Shuqian was not as sad as she had imagined.

It may be that they have not been together for a long time and their feelings are not that deep; it may also be that he had anticipated it and made preparations in advance; it may also be that the relationship between the original owner and his grandfather is not that deep, so he was not greatly affected.

After finishing their grandfather's funeral, Song Shuxi and Wei Jianguo prepared to join the army and start a new life.

"Uncle Wang, here are 500 yuan for you to take. I know Grandpa has made arrangements. These are my thoughts. Thank you for your hard work these days."

Song Shuqian was grateful to Uncle Wang from the bottom of her heart. She had no idea how to take care of people, and without Uncle Wang, Grandpa's last days would not have been so comfortable.

Uncle Wang was not in a very good mood, as if he had lost half of his energy.

"Miss, don't blame the master. He has had a hard time these years. After the old lady left, the master has been living in self-blame." Uncle Wang's voice was choked with sobs. He had been with the master since he was a child, and he knew how difficult it was for the master.

Song Shuqian did not express her opinion because she was not the original Song Shuqian.

No one knows why Song Shuxi left early in 1968.

Song Shuqian felt a little embarrassed when looking at the things at home. It was because they were too expensive.

For example, that piano, my grandmother bought it from abroad at a high price. With so many people watching, there’s no way to store it in the space. It would be too conspicuous if it was placed outside, so she planned to keep a low profile in the future and wait until the situation gets better.

The furniture in the house looks like some ordinary wood, but in fact, they are made of rosewood, golden nanmu, ironwood, wenge, and the cheapest is teak.

She really couldn't bear to throw it away.

These woods are very rare and their value is inestimable. If she rented them out in this house, she would be heartbroken.

There are also some ornaments in the house, such as table clocks, clocks, and electric fans. Any one of them would be the envy of others if you take it out.

She would have to think about it again.

In the room at night.

Wei Jianguo saw that Song Shuxi was worried all day and never found a chance to ask her.

"Shu Xi, what's wrong with you? Are you missing grandpa?"

Song Shuqian also wanted to find a local person to discuss it, as there was a big gap between her memory and her actual experience. "I'm worried about the furniture at home. I've rented this house to the neighborhood committee for 10 years, and I don't know where to put all the ornaments in the house. We can take some small, inconspicuous items to the family compound, but it's hard to deal with the big ones."

Wei Jianguo was also thinking about these things. In this era, keeping these things in hand would do more harm than good. He was still thinking about how to tell his wife, but his wife had already thought of it herself. "Wife, what do you think about donating it?"

Wei Jianguo's words were not very confident, as he didn't know how much a pendulum clock or a piano cost, but he knew that these were good things that could not be bought with money.

But this was the best solution he could think of.

It was all because he didn't have the ability to help his wife keep her things.

Song Shuqian's eyes lit up. She was so careless that she forgot that she could donate it.

"Donate. We'll contact each other tomorrow. Who should we donate to? Should we donate to the street office as well?"

Seeing that his wife was not angry, Wei Jianguo secretly breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Donate it to the authorities. It is also a guarantee for the right thing to do."

Song Shuqian felt that this was not acceptable. She would not be living here in the future, and even though the authorities were taking care of her, they could not do much. "Jianguo, who introduced you to this blind date?"

Wei Jianguo was puzzled and didn't know what his wife suddenly mentioned. I answered truthfully, "It's Deputy Division Commander Wang of our military region. Deputy Division Commander Wang thinks highly of you and said he welcomes you to come over."

Song Shuqian felt relieved for the time being. She had seen this Deputy Commander Wang in the original owner's memory. He had a good relationship with the Song family. It was said that her grandmother had saved his life before.

He is a very upright elder.

"Jianguo, let's donate these things to the military region where you are. Pianos, telephones, clocks, televisions...all these miscellaneous items. And these furniture can be disassembled. I know an empty yard where we can transport the furniture."

"All donated?"

"Yes, we donated them all. If these things were left with us, they would be a death warrant. I was wrong before. I can't keep a low profile with my status. In this case, we will donate all the things and spend the money openly.

Husband and wife are one, the credit for this will be given to you in the future, it will be good for both of us. "

Seeing that his wife was thinking about him, Wei Jianguo felt warm all over instantly.

According to the phone book left by my grandfather, I called Uncle Wang and explained the situation. Uncle Wang promised to send a car as soon as possible to help move things.

Deputy Commander Wang was so happy. The difficult period had just passed and it was a luxury to have enough food, let alone these enjoyable things.

With fans placed in hospitals, soldiers' wounds are less likely to become infected in the summer.

With a clock, they can check the time during meetings and be more efficient.

With the piano, soldiers can listen to music to relax when they are tired from training.

Deputy Division Commander Wang comes from a large family. He has an open mind and knows what to do to be best for the soldiers. Nowadays, others would avoid capitalists like the Song family, but he felt that this was an opportunity.

Introducing a blind date to Wei Jianguo was also in the hope that Song Shuqian could help Wei Jianguo and tell him not to underestimate children educated in large families, as their vision is something that rural soldiers will find difficult to catch up with in their entire lives.

Wei Jianguo is the soldier he thinks is most promising. He has won first place in competitions for many years in a row. He is brave, fearless, tenacious, and decisive. But he also has fatal flaws: he has a narrow vision, no ambition, and no culture.

These girls from the Song family can make up for the shortfall, and their marriage can be described as a win-win situation.
