Chapter 215 It's Best Not to See Each Other (1)

Chapter 215

Theoretically speaking, monsters can accumulate their power indefinitely.

However, in reality, they cannot obtain pure magic. This is because in the Chaotic Realm, holy magic and magical power combine to form chaos.

But just as a spider can become a chaotic cataclysm by stealing the magic of a monster, one can become stronger by plundering the magic of others.

That's why the saints are a bit busy. Every region has an apex predator in the food chain, and when that apex's power exceeds a certain threshold, all the monsters in the area will become its food.

This thing is the Chaos Calamity, the superior form of calamity. The little spider became such a monster back then. Once imbued with a demonic mark, it becomes something of the Demon King.

If Spider-Man hadn't gone to Ark and had instead settled somewhere else, it might have become one of the most disastrous events in history.

Unfortunately, that good child never considered such a thing. Even after becoming the Demon King, it was all just a fleeting moment.

And Noni, the guy who can transform into all sorts of strange things.

Now it has become a chaotic cataclysm, and before the battle with the Judgment, the little spider separated it from itself.

It watched the little spider die, and what happened afterward.

I just feel a bit lonely because my original home has been completely shattered. No one knows where I am.

Even when I was only the size of a fist, I was able to survive in a place full of disasters.

Not to mention that he himself has now become a calamity, and this plain, which has already been cleared by the saints, is now completely empty. It will take time for the monsters to respawn.

It devoured all the monsters that spawned here during that time; those that happened by chance were eaten before they even opened their eyes.

Later, in order to eat these things faster, it began to change its appearance. For example, it became very thin and spread out on the ground.

Once those monsters appear, they will fall onto its body. It will then eat them.

Although things didn't go smoothly for a while, it gradually grew.

In one year, he expanded his territory to the size of a plain.

But this is not a good thing, because it has lost its mind.

It absorbed too much chaos mixed with holy magic. At first, it was alright, but as the amount increased, it lost the ability to think. However, it still retained its instincts as a demon: to devour, to grow, and to fight against everything it encountered.

Karl knew this wasn't the time for him to be emotional; he was a high-ranking priest, and whether they could leave him alive depended on at least half of their efforts.

He didn't know what had happened, but ever since he left Lori, the girl of the demon race, something seemed to have changed in his mind. He was no longer as decisive and courageous as before. In the past, it was hard to imagine that he would ever feel compassion for a demon.

"I'm telling you now, I can hold out for another three minutes," Denos shouted. "I see normal land now. Prepare to land!"

"Is it really possible to survive a fall from this height?" Nina asked casually, looking down, but then crawled into the carriage and hid in the coffin.

She could only cope with the impact in a place like this. She didn't have much expertise in this kind of minor spell, and she needed time to recover from the backlash from the black lightning earlier.

"I'll go as slowly as possible," Denos said with a forced smile. "I can't hurt the girl."

Then he watched as Karl jumped straight off the carriage.

At a height of 100 meters, this guy leaped down, his entire body covered in heavy armor in mid-air.

“That’s much lighter,” Denos said softly, not wanting to look at the guy.

He didn't know how Karl planned to deal with this thing; according to the Church's procedures, the Chaos Scourge required at least two high-ranking clergy to handle it. And that didn't guarantee victory.

Even if the swordsmith were present, such a thing might not end well, and now he went down alone.

A roar came from behind. Denos's gaze was drawn to it, and he suddenly saw that the vast black plain had vanished.

Instead, it was replaced by a small, black figure.

It was a boy with eight spider legs on his back. His whole body was pure white, except for his spider legs and hair, which were jet black.

"A little spider?" Denos was stunned. Although it was very far away, its highly recognizable features made him recognize the thing at a glance.

Upon landing, Karl was struck by a heavy blow, so fast that he had no way to defend himself and could only rely on his heavy armor to withstand it.

He was knocked away and was so shaken on the ground that he could hardly stand up.

The second attack was deflected by him. A golden shield gathered around his body, and eight spider legs pierced through the shield almost simultaneously, but failed to touch Karl.

Karl opened the scripture before it, and holy magic formed chains that surged from it and bound it. With his other hand, he made a grasping motion in the air, and a greatsword that materialized slashed at the little spider's body.

It didn't dodge; instead, one arm broke free of the chains and forcefully gripped the blade. Chaotic cataclysmic magic coalesced to the size of a human, its concentration making it inhumanly hard.

"Is it Noni?" Karl asked softly, looking at the man.

It shuddered, then suddenly leaped away, breaking free of its chains. It reached a distance of several dozen meters and perched there, watching Karl.

Karl lifted the visor of his helmet and looked at Noni, who had transformed into a little spider.

Even though this thing has lost its mind, it still remembers many things, such as its current appearance. In its eyes, the little spider is the strongest monster. That's why it transformed into the shape of a little spider.

There's absolutely no problem with that. Spider-like creatures inherently possess the characteristics of having no magic core and an extremely high concentration of magic power. This makes them almost entirely special attackers when fighting humans.

After all, at this level, if you're too big, you won't get any attribute boosts; you'll just be a sitting duck.

It gritted its teeth, twitching in place as it pondered who this guy really was.

As I pondered it, it became increasingly strange.

Its entire body was cracked open, and black blood flowed from the cracks. The blood slowly dripped onto the ground, spreading out a black carpet.

Its spider legs slowly opened behind it, and began to crack as well, connecting with each other through the periosteum, just like spreading wings.

Its head split open, ram horns grew out from it, and on its face was the bewildered expression of a boy.

A demon whose mind has been disturbed cannot be restored. The various disturbances caused by its fusion with holy magic have rendered it mindless. To restore it, the contaminated elements must be removed from its demon core.

But like the little spider, it doesn't have a magic core. Or rather, it is the concept of a magic core itself.

We must kill it here. If we leave it unattended, it will suffer even more, and we won't be able to leave alive.

“Noni, I am Karl. We’ve met before.” Karl said, slowly approaching, the sword in his hand gradually becoming real.

His holy magic accelerated, gathering within the sword.

Noni roared, as if telling Karl not to come any closer, but he himself slowly retreated.

The creature's remaining sanity told it that this was someone it couldn't harm, but its monster instincts drove it to attack anything strange.

At that moment, the carriage crashed to the ground. Denos tried his best to keep the impact within his tolerance. But the impact still sent him flying several meters off the carriage before he slammed heavily to the ground.

He was just an ordinary human being, and that impact almost killed him.

"Denos! Run!" Karl was suddenly pushed to the ground, and Noni rushed over at an unimaginable speed.

Run? How could he possibly escape? In the blink of an eye, he was already less than inches away from Denos, and the next moment he would be pierced through by his own spider legs.

But it was the one that got pierced. It staggered backward, touched its head, and saw a hole in it. It was confused and didn't know why.

It turned its head to look at the ground, where an energy arrow was slowly breaking apart, leaving only a crater after a few seconds.

Noni looked behind him and saw what appeared to be a figure holding a longbow pointing at him, a kilometer away.

It sensed the danger, ignored Denos, and moved at high speed across the plain.

With its eight spider legs, it moves at an unbelievable speed; even arrows, which can track, cannot hit it.

Before the thought was over, it fell to the ground, because another arrow pierced through its spider leg on its back.

Those things transformed into magic and merged back into its body, leaving Noni completely bewildered.

The arrow was in a straight line; it didn't seem like she had shot herself, but rather like she had run into the arrow.

Lina slowly drew back her longbow and then fired casually.

She still covered her entire upper face with bandages, so nothing could be seen.

But every arrow she shot hit its mark.

No matter how Noni tried to dodge, the thing would always hit him accurately.

Behind her was a monster.

It could barely be considered humanoid, with a sheep bone mask on its face, and the sheep bones beneath the black horns looked so ferocious.

Her entire body was covered by a hard exoskeleton, and behind her trailed a long, thin, bony tail, the end of which was a snake's head, floating beside her.

His back was almost completely naked, but there was no beauty to be found. There were cervical vertebrae growing out of his skin one after another, and scapulae, each with a long thorn protruding from them. His back was also covered with an exoskeleton, with the cervical vertebrae connecting to the coccyx.

"Dedeline, you're in charge of dealing with that thing as it charges," Lina said casually. The monster took a step forward without a word, slowly drawing the greatsword from its back and gripping it tightly with one hand.

It was a strange weapon, a single-handled greatsword with three enormous eyes that moved and looked around.

It was covered in cracks, but it hadn't shattered. The cracks resembled the wounds on the thing, from which bright red blood flowed, staining the jet-black greatsword crimson.

After blood flowed from the greatsword, the red patterns suddenly lit up, and the weapon suddenly roared, the sound echoing across the plains.

Noni froze in place, completely dumbfounded as it stared at the monster, having been dealing with the arrows the whole time.

But in an instant, it revealed a monstrous smile, and its spider legs stretched out again, almost teleporting to her side.

Dedeline had already swung her knife vertically.

The chop was completely unskilled, and it was even dozens of meters away from Noni.

But the earth cracked, the ground collapsed, and the ground turned black. The same magical impact as Noni's earlier slammed into it.

Just before the impact, Noni also gathered a similar stream of magic to clash with it. The two streams of magic collided, shattering the ground completely. And in the visible space, the battle between the two began at that moment.

But it was over in an instant. Deedri's sword severed its eight spider legs and pierced its body, and Noni transformed into a dragon and escaped.

By the time Denos was able to stand, the battle was over; all that could be seen was the black dragon soaring into the sky. Deedri stood there, watching it depart.

Centered on her, the ground for a whole kilometer had turned completely black, just like the original color of hell.

"Are we saved?" Denos was a little confused, looking at the monster from afar.

It seemed vaguely familiar; its red hair danced in the air, and the horns on its massive sheep skull gleamed black. The sky was hazy, tinged with an apocalyptic color.

"You're saved." A woman's voice came from behind him. Denos turned around and saw the woman carrying a longbow slowly walking towards him.

"Have we met somewhere before?" Denos looked at her, stunned, an indescribable sense of familiarity welling up inside him.

Unlike the familiarity I felt when I saw that guy, which felt like I might have seen him before.

However, he was absolutely certain that this guy's appearance had not appeared even for a single moment in his limited mental capacity.

But they still felt familiar, as if they were destined to know each other, not because of anything they had said or done, and not even because they had ever met. They were destined to know each other.

"You start talking to a pretty girl like that?" Nina stepped out of the carriage and saw Denos looking stunned. Annoyed, she gave Denos a hard twist on the neck.

Then Nina turned around and bowed deeply to the woman standing there.

"Thank you so much for your help. We will definitely repay you if we have the chance." She hesitated for a moment and then asked, "But may I ask how I should address you?"

“My name is Linas, it was nothing,” she said with a smile, looking at Denos who was still in a daze, and said, “Long time no see.”

But we've never met before, so why are we talking about things like "it's been so long since we last met"?

This was the only thought in Denos's mind, but he didn't say it aloud.

Just watching her slowly remove the bandages from her eyes, revealing her emerald green eyes, she answered in the same soft voice:

"haven't seen you for a long time."
