Chapter 143 Western Federation - 8 *** ……

***

Lu Yi discovered that Anderson had disappeared during the banquet. At first, he didn't pay attention to it because Anderson was someone who liked to wander around.

Later, the servants brought in a lot of pastries. Lu Yi saw something that looked like mooncakes. He had eaten them with Tang Bufan in the Eastern Federation before. He didn't like them, but Tang Bufan liked them.

Lu Yi thought that Tang Bufan didn't seem to have eaten much today, so she took a plate to serve Tang Bufan. He also served him a large bowl of salad and picked out a few bright roses from the vase.

He happily asked the servant for a tray to take to Tang Bufan, but the servant said he would do it. Lu Yi refused, wanting to deliver it himself and let Tang Bufan see the flowers.

But when they reached the second floor, the butler stopped them, saying the same thing as the male servant, asking him to take them home.

Just as Lu Yi was about to refuse, Luther's roar suddenly came from the third floor. He shouted loudly, and his angry and desperate cries silenced the entire banquet.

The musicians stopped playing, and the guests looked up, whispering among themselves. Lu Yi sighed silently, feeling a little helpless.

When Lu Yi was a child, he was often afraid that Lu De would have a fit in public. People would point and whisper about their family, and then his mother would cover her face slightly with a fan and leave.

Orc children have high rates of deformity and intellectual disability. In order to maintain social order, various federations encourage the drowning of children with problems.

This is cruel, but it benefits the orc society and its development.

As the family of the head of state, Hans and Anna should have set an example by drowning Luther, but instead they raised him and wasted a lot of resources on him, which made the people of the Federation very dissatisfied in private.

Lu Yi didn't know whether leaving Luther was Hans's unilateral decision or because of Anna. Lu Yi hoped it was the latter, and he had mixed feelings about his brother who often went berserk.

A maid's scream came from the third floor. Lu Yi had no choice but to hand the tray he was carrying to the housekeeper and quickly went up to the third floor. He saw that the door to Luther's room was wide open and a maid was standing at the door in a panic.

Lu Yi walked over quickly and found that the window of Luther's room was open, the night wind was blowing the curtains, and the room was empty.

"Young Master Luther jumped!" the maid shouted to Lu Yi.

Lu Yi walked to the window and peeked out. Sure enough, he saw Luther's extremely tall figure running quickly into the fog-filled garden, followed by five or six orc guards chasing after him.

"Where's Ethan?" Lu Yi turned around and asked the maid. Although Ethan and Luther always argued, Luther had indeed become more well-behaved since he came to this house, especially during Ethan's pregnancy, when Luther would be much quieter than before because of his joy.

Although she was unable to conceive in the end.

The maid stammered, "It seems...it seems...in the garden..."

Lu frowned, realizing that Luther's outburst tonight was probably related to Ethan, so he used his bracelet to notify Emma to come out and calm the guests, while he jumped out of the window.

Emma is getting on in years, and we shouldn't have bothered her, but the highly experienced housekeeper was able to handle the situation very well.

Hans should come out of his study too. Lu Yi thought to himself, and after landing, he looked up in the direction of Hans's study. The room was lit by a warm yellow desk lamp, but he couldn't see Hans by the window. Lu Yi then turned to look at his own room, but he didn't see Tang Bufan either.

His room was dark, with several windows open. Lu Yi frowned slightly. Lu De's roar was very loud. Tang Bufan's drowsy symptoms had long been cured, so he shouldn't have missed it.

Thinking of how the male servant and the butler had repeatedly prevented him from returning to his room, Lu Yi felt a sense of panic and an ominous premonition. He immediately climbed back up to the third floor from the first floor in a few quick movements.

He climbed through his bedroom window and found the bed empty; Tang Bufan was nowhere to be seen.

"Teacher...Teacher!" Lu Yi's mind went blank for a moment. He stood in the darkness for two seconds with his body cold before he suddenly realized that he should go to Anderson's room next door.

That carefree, irresponsible man wasn't there either.

Lu Yi told himself to stay calm. Maybe the two people had just gone out for a stroll. He raised his bracelet and asked Evelyn to check the location of the two people.

"Requesting the location information of Anderson and Xiao Tang from the mainframe, please wait..." Evelyn's gentle electronic female voice sounded, and a few seconds later told Lu Yi: "Location obtained, lakeside cabin."

A virtual screen popped up, displaying Anderson and Tang Bufan's locations. Lu Yi looked up through the window and, sure enough, saw a faint light coming from the direction of the distant lakeside cabin.

However, due to the heavy fog, it was not very clear what was being seen.

Is it because the banquet is too noisy? Lu Yi felt a little relieved, remembering that Anderson had previously suggested that Tang Bufan move there, but he had rejected the suggestion.

Just as Lu Yi was about to communicate with Tang Bufan, the head guard of the Smith family sent a message first.

"Young Master Louis! Young Master Luther... he killed Ethan!"

Lu Yi's pupils contracted slightly. He immediately put down the bracelet, flipped over, jumped out of the window, and rushed towards the garden shrouded in mist.

However, by the time Lu Yi arrived there, Luther was already dead.

Lu Yi stared wide-eyed, panting, at his brother's corpse. Luther had transformed into a beast, his body grotesquely growing to nearly three meters in size, his features contorted in agony, a hole opening in his temple, his face, devoid of human form, covered with the same golden curly hair as Lu Yi's, his golden beastly eyes wide open, filled with bloodshot veins.

Ethan was held in his arms, his left cheek swollen and red, his head twisted back in a strange position and hanging on his body, already lifeless.

Beside them, Mrs. Taylor, whom Lu Yi recognized, huddled in the arms of two maids, her clothes not very neat.

Without asking who killed him, because the gun was in Luther's own hand, Lu Yi raised his hand to cover his mouth, and walked weakly to his brother's body.

He slowly knelt down on the grass.

Lu Yi didn't actually like Lu De. He had a bad temper, often going on wild tantrums at night, and occasionally beating Lu Yi out of jealousy. But... but...

Lu Yi raised her hand to cover her eyes again, trying hard to hold back her tears. Just as Anna would occasionally glance at Luther, Lu Yi often stared at Luther with mixed emotions. No matter how bad things are, family will always keep an eye on you.

As Lu Yi picked up Luther's body and wiped his wide-open eyes, a beam of light suddenly shone through the thick fog in the distance.

Immediately afterward, Evelyn's alarm sounded: "Warning: Unidentified flying object detected 700 meters to the southwest."

Hearing Evelyn's alarm, Lu Yi suddenly remembered Tang Bufan, who had disappeared. His already chilled body suddenly plunged into an even colder abyss. Lu Yi immediately abandoned Lude's corpse and ran wildly towards the beam of light.

However, by the time he arrived there, the aircraft had already taken off. Lu Yi cried out in terror, "Teacher!" His beast-like body leaped high into the air, but his raised hand only managed to grab the tail of the vanishing beam.

He fell heavily to the ground, his face pale, and he staggered, almost unable to stand.

A gentle evening breeze swept by, thick fog swirled, and a faint trace of Tang Bufan's scent lingered in the cool air.

"No...no no no no!" After a brief moment of disorientation, Lu Yi gradually regained his senses. He immediately raised his wrist to contact the direction of the aircraft: "Bren! Lock onto that aircraft! Move it over there immediately..."

Before Lu could finish speaking, a hand reached out from the side and covered his bracelet.

"Breen, remain on guard," Hans instructed calmly. He had maintained communication with Brun throughout the entire process.

"Yes, Führer." Bren, who was on duty in the aircraft, replied in a deep voice. Given the current situation, he could not immediately tell Lu Yi that their radar could not lock onto Zero's aircraft at all.

The other party's stealth capabilities are truly formidable.

The communication was cut off. Lu Yi's eyes were bloodshot. He stared straight at his father, his voice trembling: "What did you do?"

Hans looked at his enraged youngest son with indifference and calmness: "I'm protecting you."

Lu Yi threw a punch.

Hans turned his head and took two steps back, causing the servants and guards around him to gasp in astonishment.

"..." Hans raised his hand to wipe the blood from the corner of his mouth. A strand of his neatly combed blond hair fell down because of the punch, making him look even more like his youngest son.

"So young and impetuous," Hans commented casually, taking the handkerchief handed to him by the maid beside him. "Not only am I protecting you, but Anderson and your wife are also protecting you."

He pressed a handkerchief to his cracked lip, then looked up at the sky. There was no moon, no light, and the aircraft had long since vanished. Hans then turned and left.

Lu Yi was still standing there, looking lost and dejected.

"Luther is dead," he whispered to Hans.

Hans paused in his steps, and after a moment, he softly hummed in agreement.

Hans knew this because he had ordered the photos of Ethan and Mrs. Taylor's affair to be sent to Luther.

It doesn't matter. The little monster he had with Anna didn't have a bad life. He saw the world, tasted delicious food, served as a general for a while, and married a wife who could accept him. Although his wife had a temper just as bad as his, she still let the little monster experience a little bit of love.

They will be buried together, so they won't be lonely.

Ethan was the one Hans chose to be buried with Luther; his death was already inevitable the moment he stepped into the house.

Hans glanced slightly to the side, where a woman in a long red dress with beautiful golden curls was looking at him from the mist.

"Are you satisfied?" Anna asked him.

Hans subtly curled the corners of his mouth.

“Yes, wait for me a little longer,” he said.

I'll come find you once Louis succeeds to the throne.

The maids following Hans exchanged bewildered glances, listening to the head of state's strange mutterings.
