Wake Up 08

Wake Up 08

Zenin Naoya was heading to the Kikuku to trade in a new weapon. He'd long since grown tired of the one he held. He didn't treat anyone he met with a friendly face, yet everyone he met always greeted him with a smile. In this family, there were only a few people who could ignore him: his two uncles, his father, and the woman who always annoyed him.

The Jiku and the library are not on the same road.

This woman was holed up in the library again. It was all dusty inside, and he couldn't understand how she managed to stay there. Zenin Naoya wanted to go in and sneer at her, but then he remembered that this woman had ignored him first, got angry with him over a few maids, and never spoke to him again.

She was the one who started the cold war, so why should Zenin Naoya be the first to bow his head? Zenin Naoya's frown could kill a fly. Fortunately, the spear in his hand was strong, otherwise it would have been destroyed by Master Naoya.

Passersby whispered:

"Is that Master Naoya?"

"It doesn't look like him, but I'm afraid it's him."

"Why is Master Naoya here?"

"Who knows?"

"Let's run..."

"Go this way. I don't want to be scolded by him."

"Hurry up, hurry up."

Just as Zenin Naoya was about to chase after them to let them see how dangerous the world was, someone who attracted even more attention appeared - the clothes of those old men... were from the Gojo family.

Leading the group was his father, stroking his beard and smiling, a smile so fake it couldn't be more false. The other old men were no better, their greasy smiles plastered on their faces seemingly impossible to wash off. The Gojo and Zenin families had been at odds for so many years; it was truly astonishing that they could still smile at each other.

Pretending.

The oldest man among the people from the Gojo family had layers of wrinkles on his face, which shook when he walked.

At the end of the large group of people was their own guard. After his father's group had gone far away, Zenin Naoya called out to a guard who had fallen behind. As soon as the guard reached Naoya, he told him to stand further away in a disdainful manner.

"A smell of alcohol."

"Master, aren't we brothers having a drink together outside under the patron's patronage?"

"What's it to me how much you drink?"

"hey-hey."

"Why are the people from the Gojo family here?"

"That's not something I could know, Master."

Drinking will cause trouble.

Zenin Naoya cursed, leaving the guard completely bewildered. It was too much for a small guard like him to meddle in the affairs of these important figures. Could Master Naoya have a brain disease? He couldn't say, he couldn't say...

With the projectile spell, Zenin Naoya wouldn't lose him, but he couldn't be discovered. The Gojo family was just empty talk, vulnerable. Zenin Naoya had to be wary of his own father; if he was discovered, he wouldn't know anything.

Unable to hear what they were saying, Zenin Naoya had to move closer.

"When can we meet Miss Chu?" said the old man with loose skin piled up in layers.

What do you want to do with that woman? Zenin Naoya didn't understand. Dad didn't say anything for a long time, and Zenin Naoya vaguely felt that his father seemed to glance in his direction.

"The young lady hasn't been feeling well since she fell into the water. I'm afraid she can't see any guests." The woman named Ryoko appeared, and the old man's expression turned unhappy. "Zhibiren, I didn't say that before."

"It wasn't me who brought this up." Dad's expression wasn't very good either, and his face looked sullen as if he hadn't had a drink for three days.

"You guys don't find out the situation yourself and you blame me?"

"This..." The people of the Gojo family gathered together and whispered.

This is the relationship between the Zenin family and the Gojo family that Zenin Naoya is familiar with.

Another old man poked his head out. "I had the pleasure of meeting Miss Chu at the Directors' Meeting. Although Miss Chu's health isn't good, she's not so bad as to be seen by others, right? Besides, she's been working at the Directors' Meeting for at least five years, right?"

Dad's face turned even uglier. Zenin Naoya still didn't understand the situation. He didn't understand why these people had to see that woman. Even he couldn't see her, so these people couldn't see her either! Zenin Naoya cheered for his father in his heart. Zenin Naoya completely forgot that he was angry and didn't want to see her.

"Miss Chu doesn't go to the directors' meetings that often." Zenin Ryoko continued indifferently, "This hasn't even started yet, why are you all so anxious? My young lady hasn't even met Master Wu."

"Ryoko, these are your elders. Don't be so rude when talking to them."

"Master of the family, I have grown up with the young lady since she was young, and I am reluctant to let her get married early. These people came here without bringing anything, and it is obvious that they are not sincere in asking to marry my young lady!" Ryoko was about to cry as she spoke.

Zenin Naoya couldn't hear what the group said. He understood the purpose of these old men coming to his house. They wanted to take that woman away!

Zenin Naoya frowned. He certainly hadn't considered what he'd do after that woman left. It was definitely boring. He was somewhere in the middle of the pack. He couldn't get angry at his father or uncles, and bullying those who wouldn't fight back was boring. Besides training, arguing with that woman was surprisingly a rare pleasure.

He walked out from behind the rockery.

"What are you all doing here?" Zenin Naoya yelled, then pretended to look at Zenin Naohito casually: "Dad!?"

"Meeting is fate. Naoya, come and meet your elders."

Zenin Naobi introduced himself one by one, and Zenin Naoya greeted each one. Don't ask what Zenin Naoya was thinking; he just wanted to beat up those old men. They robbed people and took them to their homes. Is there any justice left?

The matter was brushed aside by praising Zenin Naoya for his promising young age, but when the old men were about to leave, they dealt Zenin Naoya a heavy blow.

"Since Miss Chu is not available to see guests today, we will visit her another day."

Another day?! Damn it! Zenin Naoya couldn't help but explode on the spot, but was forcefully suppressed by Zenin Naobi.

"The Zenin family welcomes you all at any time."

After some pretense, the guard at the door closed the gate, and Zenin Naoya was led by Zenin Naobi into a random room.

"Ryoko, don't let anyone in."

"Yes, Master."

As soon as he entered the house, Zenin Naoya broke free from his restraints, pulled up a chair and sat down, which made Zenin Naobi so angry that he yelled, "You little bastard! Your father hasn't even sat down yet!"

"Are you old and confused? There are so many chairs here." The father and son rolled their eyes at the same time. Zenin Naobi cursed and pulled out a chair to sit down. Zenin Naoya came over and said, "Dad, what are those old men doing here?"

"Proposing marriage. Don't you know that?" The Zen temple's Zhibiren puffed his beard and glared.

"I just can't believe that there is anyone who wants a woman like that?" Under his father's death gaze, Zenin Naoya's voice became smaller and smaller.

"Are you really going to marry her off?"

"It's terribly hot." Zenin Zhibiren found a feather fan from somewhere and fanned himself while saying to Zenin Zhiya with a sidelong glance, "Girls can't be kept here when they grow up."

"I don't agree!" Zenin Naoya stood up and kicked the chair aside.

"Naoya, look at you. You despise me but at the same time you don't want me to leave. I don't understand what you are thinking. A man's heart is like a needle in the sea." It's been a long time since I last played with the child.

"At least it can't be the Gojo family." Zenin Naoya said in a deep voice.

"The Kamo family?"

"How could those idiots of the Kamo family possibly be worthy of—"

"Then which one do you think is suitable?" Zenin Naobi was determined to tease his son. What was the point of pretending to be a brother and sister with him? How many fights had they had since they were young?

Naoya remained silent. Zenin Naobi had a bad feeling. He stopped fanning himself, opened his eyes, and saw Zenin Naoya, who looked as if he had just been pulled out of the water.

Naoya was staring at him intently.

"I," Zenin Naobi heard Zenin Naoya say. This "I" was spoken very hoarsely, as if a rusty machine had taken half a day to produce such a product, and the quality was not very good.

"This is impossible." Zenyuan Zhibiren stood up angrily.

"Why not?" Naoya asked back. His words became smoother and smoother. "Wasn't it normal to marry one's sister in the past?"

"You also said that was in the past!" shouted the Zen temple Zhibiren.

"And wouldn't that make her last name Zenin?" Zenin Naoya said happily, ignoring his father, who was on the verge of a rage. He hadn't thought of this before. She could be his wife—if only she would submit. If she behaved, she would be the most beautiful treasure in the world.

“Kneel down!”

Zenin Naoya blinked.

"I told you to kneel down, Naoya." Naoya looked at his father. His father, who was always calm, could actually get so mad. He couldn't beat his father now. So Naoya knelt down reluctantly, but he still held his head high.

Zenin Naoya did not give in.

Zen Temple Zhibiren placed his hands on the armrests on both sides of the chair. He slumped in the chair, like an ordinary father facing his useless son.

"Don't contact your mother anymore."

Zenin Naoya still tried to convince his father: "Why not? We are obviously quite suitable, aren't we? No one will say anything, we-" He didn't think it was such a difficult thing. Until his father said tiredly: "You will ruin her."

"What did you say?"

"If you don't understand, let me put it another way. You don't deserve her."

"What did you say?" Zenin Naoya was rarely confused.

"Have you met Satoru of the Gojo family?"

"That Son of God who only has a title?"

"Just a name?" Zen-in Zhibi sneered, "Ryoko."

Zenin Ryoko pushed the door open and walked in: "What do you want, Master?"

"Send a visiting card and we'll go to the Gojo family."

"Now?"

"Now."

[You are not the same kind of person as them, Naoya. You are not mediocre, but you are not dazzling enough, not special enough. If you leave Zenin's home, you will be nothing, you will not be able to survive. But if you leave here, you will only become better.]

[Naoya feels he can't do it?]

How can it not be done?

"Didn't Hatsu come with Naoya?"

"She's too slow."

"Are they quarreling again?"

"I guess so."
