Chapter 22: Deceitful Words

Miss Jun's words stunned everyone present.

Being able to cure the disease and prevent death is what everyone in the Fang family dreams of. If anyone can do this, Old Lady Fang and First Lady Fang will be so excited that they would even give him their lives.

However, when people heard these words coming from the girl's mouth, they were neither shocked nor ecstatic.

Young Master Fang even burst out laughing.

"Miss Jun's threat is really scary," he said.

Miss Jun smiled and reached out to hold his wrist which was on the wheelchair.

Because of his paralysis, Master Fang's hands and feet were cold. He froze when a warm hand suddenly touched him, and the hand had the unique softness of a woman.

Miss Jun had turned his hand over and pressed her fingers on his pulse.

Master Fang felt the warmth spreading through his blood vessels throughout his body, and shame appeared on his face.

He was actually met by this woman.

He knew that others didn't dare to show it on their faces or in their mouths, but in their hearts they all hated his body. But if they hated him, he also hated them.

They think their bodies are dirty, but he thinks they are the ones who are dirty and smelly.

Young Master Fang was about to shake off his hand, but Miss Jun had already stood up and withdrawn her hand.

"You're not sick," she said. "You're poisoned."

Master Fang sneered.

"Nonsense," he said.

Everyone knew that he had this disease from the womb. When his mother was pregnant with him, she was too sad because of the death of his father. She almost had a miscarriage, but she managed to save the baby. It was premature after all. Although he was fine before the age of five, he did have a hidden disease.

Poisoned. This woman really thought he was a child and was trying to trick him.

Miss Jun said nothing more and took a few steps back.

"I'll go back and think about it. Maybe I can think of a way to detoxify it." She said, and turned and walked away without waiting for Master Fang to say anything.

She left so cleanly and quickly that Master Fang was a little dazed. He sat in the wheelchair with a complicated expression.

That's ridiculous.

What happened to him today? Not only did he take the initiative to talk to that woman, he even listened to her.

For the past ten years, his grandmother and mother have traveled all over the country to find famous doctors, but no one has ever said that they can cure his illness. And at this moment, this ignorant, useless woman actually said that she can cure him?

What's even more ridiculous is that he was actually surprised at that moment.

Surprised, surprised to be cured? He actually believed it.

As the countdown to his death drew closer, he thought he was no longer afraid. He thought he had been preparing for nearly ten years and could accept it calmly, but it turned out not to be the case.

As the end was approaching, he was already so scared in his heart that what he said to such a woman was like grabbing a life-saving straw.

Looking at the girl walking away, Master Fang wanted to laugh, but ended up coughing twice.

"Let's go." He said calmly.

The two servants concealed their surprise and hurriedly pushed the wheelchair, creaking away in the lonely winter garden.

"Miss, your idea is really good." Liu'er said happily.

Miss Jun looked at her with some confusion.

"To fool that little paralytic." Liu'er said with admiration.

Miss Jun smiled without saying anything. She walked for a while and stopped when she saw a wide area.

This place looks like a martial arts training ground.

Rich families all have martial arts training grounds, scholars are required to master the six arts of a gentleman, and there are many families in Zezhou who trade money, so naturally their children also need to practice a craft.

However, there are no men in the Fang family anymore, so this martial arts training ground seems to be used frequently.

"Miss, look, this is the handprint the old lady left on the wooden post." Liu'er stood in front of a wooden post and pointed.

Miss Jun walked over and saw the wooden stake used for practicing boxing. She did not see Liu'er's exaggerated description. She smiled and reached out to pat the place where Liu'er pointed.

"Oh, miss, your hands have been roughened by the friction." Liu'er said hurriedly.

Miss Jun smiled and took her hand back.

"This is a nice place," she said, looking around. "Let's put up a target."

Liu'er was puzzled.

"What's the point of setting up an archery target?" she asked.

"Keep fit." Miss Jun said, and patted the wooden stake gently again.

It's not easy to travel on a broken ship, at least be prepared to experience some bumpy rides.

Although Liu'er was not interested in keeping fit, she obeyed the young lady's words and immediately asked the maid of Fang's family to set up the straw target and find a bow and arrow.

The maids of the Fang family had not expected that the master and servant would make such a request. They received orders that they were not allowed to follow the master and servant to gossip about other people's affairs, nor were they allowed to let them go out.

But now Miss Jun neither asked them about the Fang family's privacy nor stepped out of the door again. So should they obey Miss Jun's orders or not?

The maids had no choice but to pretend to obey and make preparations while they hurriedly reported to Madam Fang.

"What is she going to do?" Yuan frowned. "Why is she thinking about keeping fit? Does she still need to keep fit?"

Yuan's words were alluding to the fact that Fang Jinxiu and Miss Jun had a fight over a handkerchief. Although Fang Jinxiu was fierce, Miss Jun did not suffer any loss and pulled out a lock of Fang Jinxiu's hair.

"This is a good thing. It's better than being idle and thinking about random things." Mrs. Fang said, "Just do as Miss Jun tells you."

The maid answered yes, but did not leave.

"Madam, Miss Jun met the young master in the garden." She hesitated and said, "I wonder if this is why she did this."

When she heard that Young Master Fang was involved, Mrs. Fang sat up straight at once.

"How did she get to the Young Master?" Yuan Shi asked anxiously, "She is a naive person. I don't know what she will say when she sees the Young Master."

Whatever words they could say were those that showed ridicule and disdain for this paralyzed young master.

Mrs. Fang took a deep breath and sat back down.

"Chengyu also knows what kind of person she is, and he won't care." She said, "I'll go and tell him later that Miss Jun is a guest after all, so he shouldn't go to the garden for the next few days."

Yuan sighed helplessly.

"What a sin! How could my young lady give birth to such a thing?" she said, waving her hands at the maid.

The maid then hurriedly retreated.

Mrs. Fang was still flipping through the account books slowly as usual, but Yuan knew that she must be in a bad mood at the moment. Sure enough, after finishing reading an account book, Mrs. Fang stood up.

"I'll tell the old lady about Zhaozhou's matter," she said, glancing at Yuanshi, "you go tell the scholar that they want to get married before the New Year."

Years ago? Yuan couldn't help but be a little surprised.

This is less than a month away from the New Year, which shows how hasty this marriage will be.

"Why should we be so hasty? Let alone getting married within a month, even if it's three days later, can't our Fang family afford it?" said Mrs. Fang.

This means that she must be made to disappear from sight immediately.

Yuanshi said nothing more. She helped the eldest wife change her clothes and sent her out. She stood at the door for a moment and waved to a little maid.

"Go tell Miss Three that Miss Jun scolded the Young Master in the garden." She whispered.

The little girl ran away in response.
