Chapter 31 A Proposal

Fang Chengyu was sitting in a wheelchair, with a low stool next to him with a teacup on it.

He is very angry now.

If someone else is angry, he can slam his hand on the table or grab something and throw it on the ground to show his emotion.

But he couldn't. His upper body was becoming increasingly weak, and even daily grasping was difficult for him. All he could do was pick up the teacup and spoon to eat and drink, or flip through a book. As for banging the table and slamming the teacup, it was very tiring and a waste of energy.

His energy, like his time, is precious and should not be wasted.

So no matter how angry he is, he can remain calm.

Everyone in the family admired his calmness and self-control at such a young age. In fact, this calmness and self-control was not innate, but was acquired bit by bit from despair.

"Why?" he asked.

Why did you believe her?

Even if you are desperate and have to seek medical help, at least he should be a doctor. Jun Zhenzhen is nothing.

"She said she could cure me, so she must have given you reasons to believe her." Fang Chengyu looked at Old Lady Fang, "Grandma, what did she say?"

Of course it was because she said that Fang Chengyu was not sick but poisoned.

Mrs. Fang's lips trembled and her face turned pale.

Moreover, she had fed him the poison herself, and was now feeding him the poison every day.

"No reason."

When Mrs. Fang was about to say it, Mrs. Fang spoke first with a determined look on her face.

"If I have to give a reason, it's that you're about to turn fourteen. There's only one year left, and we can't find Dr. Zhang, so we won't let go of any opportunity. It doesn't matter if she's talking nonsense or has other purposes. As long as she says it, I'll believe it."

After saying this, he reached out and supported Mrs. Fang.

"We have nothing to lose anyway, so maybe there is still a glimmer of hope if we risk it. As long as there is a glimmer of hope, I will never give up."

Without waiting for Fang Chengyu to say anything, he pulled Mrs. Fang out.

Fang Chengyu sat in a quiet room with a calm expression.

"There's no loss anyway." He said with a smile.

The indoor light was dim, and the young man's figure, limp in the wheelchair, remained motionless, blending into the night.

"Mother, why..."

Mrs. Fang couldn't help but speak as she walked in the night.

Old Mrs. Fang glanced at her, and Mrs. Fang stopped talking.

Although the maids in front and behind were standing far away, it was not clear whether such words could be said in public.

This secret could only remain in her heart, tormenting her day and night.

"Some things are better known to be destined by heaven than to be caused by human beings." Old Madam Fang said, shaking Madam Fang's hand. "I know you are not afraid that he will hate you and blame you, and you also know that Chengyu will never blame you or me. But it is this lack of blame that makes me... feel even more sorry."

Mrs. Fang nodded and held back her sobs.

"Mother, I have an idea about how to keep this secret." She took a deep breath and raised her head.

Old Mrs. Fang nodded.

"You say." she said.

"Let Zhenzhen and Chengyu have a fake marriage." Mrs. Fang said.

Old Mrs. Fang’s expression froze.

"We still don't know who that person is. He might be in our house." Mrs. Fang said in a low voice, "I had already arranged for Zhenzhen to get married. If you suddenly don't want to get married, you need to give a reasonable reason."

Old Mrs. Fang said nothing and walked forward slowly.

Mrs. Fang followed.

"The excuse is to give Chengyu a surprise. With this identity, she can be with Chengyu, and naturally, treating the disease will not arouse suspicion from others." She continued in a low voice.

"And it can also make the Ning family feel completely at ease." Old Mrs. Fang took over the conversation.

They stopped and Mrs. Fang looked at Mrs. Fang.

"Yes," she said, "It's better to arrange Zhenzhen's life this way than to marry her off far away."

Okay?

If Chengyu is not cured, will Jun Zhenzhen have a good life in the Fang family?

Everyone has to bear the consequences of their actions.

If she can cure Chengyu, I can give her anything she wants. Similarly, if she can't, she will have to pay the price.

Mrs. Fang did not avoid Mrs. Fang's gaze.

"Of course, it's up to her to decide," she said.

You choose your own path, so you can't blame others.

Old Mrs. Fang nodded.

"Okay, then go ask her," she said.

Liu'er had even less of a friendly attitude towards Old Lady Fang and her daughter-in-law who came over at night.

Could it be that there was no winner or loser in the argument that day, and now it’s happening again?

"Our young ladies are about to go to bed." She said, leaning against the door.

"Okay, please invite them in. They can wake up even if they are asleep." Miss Jun said inside.

Since the young lady had said so, Liu'er had no choice but to open the door. This time, she took the initiative to guard outside the door without waiting for Miss Jun's instructions.

Miss Jun had already washed up and stood up with her hair loose and wearing a small skirt.

I don’t know if it’s because of the faint fragrance in the room and the girl’s clear eyes under the light, which makes people feel very comfortable. It’s really different from before.

Old Mrs. Fang paused. In fact, she had only been here a few times before, and she had no mood to pay attention to the environment in the house, let alone feel comfortable.

She didn't like this contrast, so she stated her decision straight away.

"Of course it all depends on how you treat him," she said. "If it doesn't require excessive contact, then it doesn't have to be like this."

"Have you figured out how to treat it?" Mrs. Fang asked hurriedly.

Miss Jun smiled and nodded.

"I figured it out," she said.

ah?

Old Mrs. Fang and Mrs. Fang were so nervous that they couldn't even say how to treat the disease.

"Through the brewing of herbs, I will use gold needles to repair his meridians. Even though he may not be fully recovered immediately, at least he won't die in a year." Miss Jun took the initiative to say.

ah!

Old Mrs. Fang and Mrs. Fang were still speechless and didn't know what to say.

"So your suggestion is very good, Grandma. I've also been thinking about how to do this without anyone noticing." Miss Jun continued, nodding with a smile, "Getting married is very suitable."

ah.

Old Mrs. Fang and First Mrs. Fang remained silent.

Jun Zhenzhen, who used to feel humiliated even by looking at them, actually agreed to marry a merchant from their family, and this merchant was a paralyzed person.

"Zhenzhen, this is too unfair to you." Mrs. Fang couldn't help but say.

Miss Jun smiled.

"What's wrong with this?" she said, "Isn't it fake?"

Oh yes, it's fake.

Old Mrs. Fang and First Mrs. Fang had forgotten about it themselves.

"However, if we know it's fake and others don't know it, your reputation will be damaged." Mrs. Fang said softly, "Let's try another method."

If there were another way, why would you mention this one?

If you point out the way and then let others choose, you can't be called a good person.

Miss Jun smiled and shook her head.

"No, people who have died once don't care about reputation anymore," she said. "It's more important to do something that is truly beneficial to yourself."

This matter was agreed upon so easily.

Mrs. Fang had the same feeling again as when she had spent so much effort to blow bubbles only to have them popped easily by the girl's needle. This made her feel that it was a bit stupid for her to take the initiative to make this suggestion.

"Zhenzhen." She suddenly stood up and saluted Miss Jun.

Miss Jun stood up but did not avoid the greeting from her elder.

"If Chengyu can really save his life, I am willing to give Chengyu everything he deserves." Mrs. Fang said.

Fang Chengyu is the male heir and heir of the Fang family. Everything he deserves is everything of the Fang family.

This promise undoubtedly meant handing the Fang family over to him.

Old Mrs. Fang looked a little stunned, but she didn't say anything.

Miss Jun smiled, but this time she did not politely decline like a respectful younger person.

"Okay." She said, as if she was joking seriously like a child, "Aunt, don't forget what you said."
