Chapter 45: Surprising Daily Life

In the early morning, the yard was filled with the sound of gurgling.

After Lei Zhonglian finished cleaning the front hall, he came in and saw Zhu Zan squatting beside the tree pit, brushing his teeth with a willow branch in an exaggerated manner. The willow branch was flying like a broom after being chewed.

"Is the meal ready?" he asked while snorting water and looking back at the busy figures in the kitchen.

Miss Jun came out with the food and called out Chengyu.

Zhu Zan had already wiped his face with clean water and quickly went to move the table.

"This kid, is he still sleeping?" He said with a straight face, "This is outrageous."

"He was too tired last night." Miss Jun said as she put the food on the table. She looked up and saw Zhu Zan staring at her with a strange expression.

"What's wrong?" she asked, without consciously looking at herself.

She has not been a dainty princess since she was ten years old. She has to take care of herself, sleep, and travel at night. She is very skilled at leaving at any time and falling asleep as soon as she lies down. It is also very easy for her to keep her appearance in good shape no matter what the situation is.

She would never be disheveled unless it was intentional.

Zhu Zan rubbed his chin.

"Is your little husband too tired?" he asked, pointing into the room.

Miss Jun nodded.

"Yeah, what's wrong?" she asked.

Zhu Zan touched his chin again.

"Let me ask you another question." He said, looking at Miss Jun, "How did you recognize me?"

"I am the daughter of Jun Yingwen, the former magistrate of Funing County. I grew up in Funing with my father. Funing was protected by Duke Cheng. Duke Cheng once visited Funing for an inspection. I was fortunate enough to see the Crown Prince from afar. He was handsome and heroic, and unforgettable." Miss Jun said softly, looking at Zhu Zan.

Jun Zhenzhen has a cute appearance. She is very cute when she speaks softly and tenderly.

Zhu Zan looked at her seriously.

Lei Zhonglian felt that the sincere gaze between the man and woman in the corridor in the morning light was so beautiful that he forgot the embarrassment for a moment.

"I understand." Zhu Zan said suddenly, as if he had finally solved a problem that had troubled him for a long time, "You won't be shy."

A woman should be shy when expressing her admiration for a man.

Of course I don't have it, and I can't pretend to have it.

Miss Jun smiled at him and lowered her head to arrange the dishes.

"She won't either." Zhu Zan suddenly muttered to himself.

Miss Jun's hand stopped.

"Who?" she asked, looking up.

Zhu Zan grinned at her.

"My wife," he said.

Daughter-in-law.

Is he married?

Maybe, she couldn't remember because she was not at home. Then her parents came back and her status changed and she got married. She couldn't take care of her own affairs, let alone other people's affairs.

Zhu Zan is about the same age as the Emperor's twelfth uncle, that is, he is four or five years older than himself. He is now twenty-one or twenty-two years old. At this age, he would have been married a long time ago, and probably have children running around.

Miss Jun smiled.

"Can you please take my admiration seriously?" Zhu Zan said, tapping the table with his hand. "Wouldn't it be heartbreaking to hear that the person you admire is getting married?"

"I don't admire you." Miss Jun raised her head and said.

Zhu Zan pointed at her.

"Well, don't lie and deny your true feelings." He said, "If you don't love me, why would you forget me?"

"It's not necessarily that I have to admire you if I can't forget you." Miss Jun said puzzledly, "I can't forget my admiration for your talent."

Zhu Zan blinked and looked at her with a dazed expression.

"Yes, that's fine," he said.

"I also can't forget Duke Cheng." Miss Jun said. "Your Excellency will never think that I also..."

Zhu Zan raised his hand.

"Stop," he said, his expression somewhat chilly, "It doesn't sound right."

Miss Jun smiled again. There were footsteps coming from the other side of the door.

"Nine years old." Fang Chengyu shouted, walking slowly step by step.

Miss Jun hurried forward to take his hand.

Zhu Zan let out a breath.

"That makes me feel relieved. You have no improper thoughts about me." He smiled, "This makes me feel much more comfortable with you."

Lei Zhonglian sighed. How long would he have to keep pestering them? These days were simply too hard to endure.

After dinner and a simple cleanup, Jiuling Hall opened its doors as usual.

Zhu Zan was startled when he saw the crowd waiting outside the door.

"Why are there so many people? Are you here to cause trouble?" he said, "Are you trustworthy at such a young age?"

The people's reaction told him before he even finished speaking.

"Miss Jun."

"Miss Nine-Year-Old."

Everyone greeted the patient enthusiastically. The first person in line automatically sat down in front of the consultation table, while the others sat down on the benches in the hall in order and waited.

"Miss Jiuling, can I get some medicine?" Occasionally, old ladies or old men would ask respectfully.

Lei Zhonglian will lead them.

"Come this way," he said.

The clerk was getting the medicine from the medicine cabinet, and Lei Zhonglian was helping to pack it.

Fang Chengyu sat behind Miss Jun, where there was a desk piled with books, account books, pens, ink, paper and inkstone. He was either reading a book or flipping through an account book, or seeing Miss Jun diagnosing a patient.

There was a constant flow of people in the hall. Unlike other clinics which were gloomy and depressing, everyone who came in here was excited and happy, as well as relaxed and casual.

Zhu Zan even saw a few old women who were obviously shopping for groceries come in to rest. The ducks and chickens in the baskets all ran out, and they were chatting and laughing while catching the ducks and chickens.

"What's going on? Is this a clinic?" he said in surprise.

"Young man, you look like you're from another place." An old lady who was waiting in line for medicine heard this and said.

"Is it that obvious?" Zhu Zan raised his eyebrows.

"This Jiuling Hall has always been like this. When Miss Jun's grandfather was here, it was always like this. Neighbors all liked to come here to sit." The old woman looked nostalgic and happy as she spoke, "Now that the old doctor is gone, I thought Jiuling Hall was gone too. Now it's good. Miss Jun is back and Jiuling Hall is open again."

Zhu Zan said "oh" twice and raised his eyebrows without saying anything.

But after looking for a while, he sighed again and found a big problem.

"Wait." He stepped forward and grabbed Lei Zhonglian, his face serious, "You forgot to collect the money."

Lei Zhonglian looked at him.

"We're not charging any money this month," he said.

"What do you mean by not charging money?" Zhu Zan asked.

Lei Zhonglian looked at Miss Jun and Fang Chengyu.

"The young master and the young mistress said that Jiulingtang has reopened, and in order to repay the elders and fellow villagers, the first month's medical expenses will be waived." He said.

"I'll go." Zhu Zan said, turning around and looking at the two people here.

Noticing his gaze, Fang Chengyu looked over and smiled at him.

"You're still laughing, you can laugh." He gritted his teeth and walked over quickly. "Hey, do you know what you are doing?"

"I know." Fang Chengyu answered seriously.

Miss Jun ignored him and was writing a prescription for the patient in front of her.

"This can only be cured slowly. Try eating ginseng for a month first," she said.

Ginseng!

One month!

Zhu Zan reached over her shoulder and grasped her pen.

"Eat it as a meal?" he said.

The old man who was doing the examination was also excited and frightened.

"This is too expensive, this is too heavy, I can't afford it." He said with a trembling voice.

"I'll treat you to a meal." Miss Jun said.

The old man wiped away his tears.

"I know it was the young lady who invited me to dinner, but you can't enjoy it forever. I'm not a rich man, but I have a rich man's disease." He said with a sob.

Miss Jun smiled.

"You don't have to take it for the rest of your life. It will be fine in this month." She said, "I said the medicine will cure the disease immediately. I'm not lying to you."

As she spoke, she pulled out the pen with force, but Zhu Zan held on to it tightly.

"Please don't delay my medical treatment, okay?" she said helplessly.

"Are you here to see a doctor?" Zhu Zan whispered, "You are wasting the good harvest."

Miss Jun raised her elbow and hit him in the stomach.

Zhu Zan didn't expect her to attack him, so he stepped back and let go of her hand.

Miss Jun wrote the prescription carefully with her good pen.

Zhu Zan frowned and was about to speak when someone poked him with a pen from behind.

"What are you doing?" He turned his head and looked at Fang Chengyu, "Don't do anything to me."
