Chapter 96: Reunion at Jiuling Hall

Madam Yu personally escorted Madam Xiao to the car.

"Mother-in-law, please come to our house more often in the future," she urged.

Mrs. Xiao nodded with a smile, then left in the car taking Han Qing with her.

"Hey, why don't you send her back in person?" Zhu Zan looked at Miss Jun and said, "No one will say anything if you go back to your parents' home to live for a while."

"Who cares what others say?" Madam Yu glared at Zhu Zan unhappily, then smiled at Miss Jun, "It's safer to stay at home, so you won't get bitten by a dog."

Miss Jun smiled.

"I was just about to tell my wife that I'm leaving now," she said, "I have to go back to Jiuling Hall."

go back?

Mrs. Yu was a little surprised, while Zhu Zan looked alert.

"Don't worry, Madam. I can take care of myself." Miss Jun continued, "Although I am not living at home, the title of the Crown Prince's wife is still there. No one can hurt me easily."

"Yes, mother, Miss Jun is very powerful. Before she had this identity, no one could do anything to her." Zhu Zan hurriedly followed.

Madam Yu glared at him and took Miss Jun's hand.

"Okay, you are a straightforward girl. Since you said so, there must be a need to do so. I will listen to you," she said.

Miss Jun nodded with a smile.

"Don't worry, ma'am," she said.

Watching Miss Jun's carriage leave, Madam Yu sighed in disappointment.

"The house suddenly felt quiet," she said.

"Mom, there's just one person missing." Zhu Zan said with a smile.

"That person can talk to me." Mrs. Yu said unhappily.

"And me." Zhu Zan took her arm and said, "Mom, I still have many stories to tell you."

Mrs. Yu pushed him away.

"Let's talk about it another day." She said, "I'm very tired. I'm going to rest first."

Although Zhu Zan never felt tired listening to him talk before, he looked at Madam Yu with a look of grievance as she went in.

"I'm back!"

"Did you work hard?"

Liu'er's voice echoed in the Jiuling Hall.

Chen Qi rubbed his ears.

"There are only two more people, why is it so lively?" he muttered.

"You'll get used to it." Fang Jinxiu said, looking at Miss Jun, "You can clean up your room yourself. We didn't dare to touch it."

"In fact, I clean it every day, especially when I knew you were coming back." Chen Qi smiled, "I even hung the bedding out to dry yesterday."

Fang Jinxiu stared somewhat embarrassedly.

Miss Jun smiled.

"I see. I'll do it myself," she said, and hurried inside without even saying thank you.

"I'm afraid you'll feel embarrassed." Chen Qi said to Fang Jinxiu with a smile.

Fang Jinxiu stared at him.

"You're really smart," she said.

Chen Qi chuckled.

"You two sisters are both cold on the outside but warm on the inside, so it's easy for conversations to become dull when you're together," he said with a smile.

"I'm not a kid like Zhao Hanqing, who calls me sister all the time." Fang Jinxiu said, "I'm busy."

Having said that, he turned around.

"Aren't you the same age as Zhao Hanqing?" Chen Qi said with a smile, "Are you jealous of her?"

Fang Jinxiu turned her head.

"I need to be jealous of her?" she said. "Tell me, what is so good about her that I should be jealous of her?"

Although Chen Qi could never learn to speak sweet words as easily as Fang Chengyu, he was not stupid enough to really answer this question.

"Speaking of Zhao Hanqing, I thought of an important question." He said calmly, "The Jinyiwei are still unwilling to give up on Miss Jun. They must have heard the news and will come to cause trouble. We should immediately invite more experts. Anyway, we are not afraid of a fight now, even if the Jinyiwei are killed."

As he was about to go out, someone suddenly lifted the curtain and walked in, blocking the sunlight and casting a shadow.

Seeing the person coming, Fang Jinxiu smiled.

"You don't have to look for anyone." She looked at Chen Qi and said, "With the prince standing alone, no ghost or god can get close to us."

Chen Qi had already saluted Zhu Zan with a smile.

"You are here, my Lord." He said, and before Zhu Zan could say anything, he pointed inside and said, "Miss Jun just went in."

Zhu Zan hummed, said nothing more, and went in with a stern face.

Chen Qi immediately stood next to Fang Jinxiu and smiled.

"Hey, does it look like the daughter-in-law goes back to her parents' home in a huff, and the son-in-law comes to say nice things to get her to go home?" He laughed softly.

"Not like it." Fang Jinxiu said bluntly.

"I've said before, whether you have the title of Crown Prince's wife or not, I will keep you safe." Zhu Zan said, leaning against the door, looking at the people who were inspecting the house. "It's the same if you live here. I'll just follow you."

Miss Jun said "oh", opened the medicine box, and pulled out strands of gold and silver threads.

"Hey, I'm talking to you." Zhu Zan frowned and said, "Can you be serious? My mother asked me to come here. I know you are powerful. You are so eager to die with the surname Lu."

He said this and straightened up.

"But can you please be a little less reckless as a woman and think about it..."

Miss Jun looked at him.

"Okay." She smiled, "I understand."

"What do you know? Don't think too much. It's not that I care about you." Zhu Zan said.

Miss Jun took something out of the medicine box and waved her hand.

Zhu Zan subconsciously reached out to catch it and saw that it was a small crossbow.

"Put this on the window." Miss Jun said, and then she ignored him and lowered her head to continue sorting the thin wires.

They had done a lot of things like this along the way. Although they had asked Zhu Zan to keep watch as a joke at the beginning, they certainly didn't really let him keep watch all the time.

Zhu Zan hummed twice and muttered something, then walked to the window, leaned over, clung to the window sill and stood outside.

As soon as the next day dawned, the Jiuling Hall became lively. Of course, the main source of noise was Liu'er's voice. She directed her employees to work and checked whether the food was to their liking. She talked from morning until afternoon.

Chen Qi stayed in the front hall quietly.

When Fang Jinxiu walked out, she saw Chen Qi standing by the window, looking out with a cautious look.

"What are you looking at?" Fang Jinxiu asked.

"Let me see if there are any Jinyiwei." Chen Qi said, "I haven't seen them all morning. Could it be that they don't know the news yet?"

Fang Jinxiu curled her lips and walked straight out. Just as she stepped out of the door, someone came from the side wall and stepped into the room. They were caught off guard and almost bumped into each other.

Fang Jinxiu took a step back, saw who was coming, and her expression became strange.

"No way, Mr. Ning, it's you again," she said.

The young man in front of him had the elegance of a scholar, and was wearing an indigo-colored fine cloth robe. A smile appeared on his face when he heard this.

"Is it another coincidence?" he laughed.
