Chapter 228: Different Paths, Different Plans

Xiao Wu suddenly stopped in his tracks. If Qi Zhi had taken the right path, he would have been a very good leader. It was just a pity that good and evil could never coexist...

"Master Little Flying Stick?"

Tianji went in to report and came out soon. He lifted the curtain and kept inviting her to come in and sit down. "The boss was very happy to hear that you were here."

Xiao Wu came back to his senses, took a deep breath, and strode into the room.

The room was filled with a faint medicinal smell, which was not very pleasant. When she entered, she saw Qi Zhi, who was so weak that he could barely sit up. He bowed and saluted, "Boss."

Qi Zhi slowly opened his eyes and carefully observed her every move. "Fei Gun, sit down, sit down. I heard about your situation. It's good that you're back."

Xiao Wu looked at him steadily. She still remembered that when she first met him, he was tall and strong. But when she saw him again, his cheeks were sunken and his eyes were gray. He looked terminally ill and incurable.

After a few seconds, she sat down and hummed. Tianji tactfully picked up the teapot and poured her a cup of boiled water.

After pouring the water, he consciously retreated to the outside of the wooden shed to guard it.

Inside the room, Qi Zhi withdrew his gaze and raised his hand to set up a soundproof barrier. The next second after the barrier was formed, he covered his chest and coughed violently.

Xiao Wu wanted to go up and check the situation, but he raised his hand to stop him, "It's okay, but don't get too close, or you might pass on the disease to you."

She withdrew her hand, nodded, and went back to sit down.

Qi Zhi took a long time to recover and heaved a long sigh, "I'm afraid my body won't be able to hold on for much longer." At this point, he laughed at himself twice, "I guess this is retribution for my many sins."

He kept talking on and on, and Xiao Wu didn't know how to respond. If he said yes, it wouldn't be good. If he said no, it wouldn't be good either. It would be unfair to those who died, so he just kept silent.

Qi Zhi ignored her silence and continued, "Actually, ahem…actually, thinking back on that incident in the Nether Forest, I became very suspicious. I thought I had arranged everything perfectly, but why did the news eventually leak out?"

Hearing this, Xiao Wu's eyes moved. Unfortunately, Qi Zhi didn't look up at her. He was still talking to himself, "So later, I started investigating, but unfortunately, I couldn't find anything, until..."

Xiao Wu tilted her head slightly and looked at him expressionlessly. He just stared into her eyes. "It wasn't until I led my men in the gang to destroy the Feiyu Sect and both sides suffered heavy losses that I realized what was happening..."

He was halfway through his words when Xiao Wu stopped talking, and he didn't continue. There was silence for two or three minutes.

Just when Xiao Wu thought he wouldn't continue, he looked up and said, "It's you, right?" There was an unquestionable affirmation in his tone.

The atmosphere suddenly froze to a freezing point. Xiao Wu's hands, hidden in her sleeves, secretly formed two explosive talismans. She lowered her eyebrows and asked, "Why would the gang leader think so?"

Qi Zhi laughed heartily. "At that time, you were the only outsider in our gang. Later, when I reviewed the situation, I found that you were indeed very eloquent and knew how to grasp a person's heart."

He leaned back in his chair, clutching his chest. "So, Mingli and I are both convinced of your deception. Now I'll soon be going to hell with Mingli, and I don't want to dwell on it anymore. You're a good talent. It would be great if we were on the same path."

"Boss." She stood up, bent down, and saluted solemnly. "You are also a very good leader. If we were on the same path, I would follow you to the death. It's a pity..." People with different paths cannot work together.

Qi Zhi heard the unspoken meaning in her words and smiled with relief. He had made one mistake after another, which was why he had ended up like this. Back then, he was also a highly regarded disciple of a small sect...

"Tell me, how did you find this place? How many companions do you have outside?"

He gripped the armrests of the chair tightly with his bony hands and pleaded, "For the sake of our past friendship, can you spare their lives? I will single-handedly prevent all the blame. Can you just kill me? I promise I won't let them do anything wrong again."

Xiao Wu took a sip of tea. She was calculating how much time was left before she could teleport back. When the time was right, she said quietly, "I found this place by accident. I'm alone."

After hearing her words, Qi Zhi breathed a sigh of relief and had no intention of taking action. "That's good. When are you going back? Do you want to stay..." and have a meal?

In the blink of an eye, Xiao Wu was no longer sitting on the seat. Qi Zhi was stunned and rubbed his eyes with his hand. What the hell, even the teacup was taken away. If he hadn't been sick and had dementia yet, he would have thought that everything that had just happened was an illusion.

He removed the soundproofing array and coughed twice. Tianji and Shougou came in upon hearing the noise. When they saw that only the gang leader was left in the room, they were stunned. "Gang leader, where is Xiao Feigun?" Could he have been killed by the gang leader without a word?

"She has important things to do. She's gone home and won't be back." He stared at the seat where Xiao Wu had just sat. Suddenly, he noticed a black object on the stool. "What is that?"

Tianji went over to pick it up. The moment he opened the small bottle, a strong medicinal aroma filled the leaky shed. He said dumbly, "Boss, it seems to be a pill."

He looked around and finally saw three words at the bottom of the bottle: Life-saving Pills.

What a simple elixir.
