"Remember this: never open the door in the middle of the night."
After Aunt Purple Fox finished speaking, she glanced at Wen Yuzhao and let out a soft, tingling laugh.
She turned around, leaned on the railing, and gracefully walked away.
Gingerbread crossed his arms and rubbed them together.
That's terrifying, like something out of a horror movie!
Liu Zheng remained calm and asked seriously, "Little Bing, what would you like to eat? It's my treat."
"Let's go in first, let's go in first."
Gingerbread pushed her senior brothers and sisters into the house.
Close the door and bolt it.
"Senior sister, have some vegetables. You can't eat meat and fish anymore!" Jiang Bingbing said, looking around the guest room.
There was nothing special about it; the furnishings were laid out in a way that you could see right through. A string of copper bells hung on the door frame as you entered.
"Okay, then let's order a few stir-fries and pastries."
Wen Yu summoned him to the door and rang the bell.
“Knock knock knock—”
The three of them had just sat down around the table when there was a knock on the door.
"Go in." Liu Zheng rubbed the rim of the teacup with his thumb.
"What would you like to eat?"
The waiter who came in was no different from those in other restaurants, with a white rag slung over his shoulder.
The only difference is that he has a pair of antlers on his head.
Upon closer inspection, the other person's eyes were round and bright.
Large black pupils.
Is it a deer demon?
"One serving of hibiscus cake, and a few of your shop's signature dishes, all simple." Wen Yuzhao glanced at Jiang Bingbing, and seeing that the other's small mouth indicated thirst, he smiled and said, "And a pot of osmanthus wine."
"Okay, I'll be right there!"
The waiter happily agreed and skipped out.
Gingerbread's inner monologue: [A live-action Bambi]
Not long after.
Lu Xiaoer brought in the food. "Sir, the food is here. Please enjoy."
After saying that, he was about to leave.
Liu Zheng and Wen Yuzhao exchanged a glance.
Wen Yu called out to stop them, "Waiter, please wait a moment."
"Is there anything else?" Lu Xiaoer blinked his round deer eyes, looking very easy to fool.
"I've heard that the Corpse King appeared at the Crown Prince's Tomb outside Phoenix Cry City. Do you know anything about it?"
Wen Yuzhao was polite and courteous in his questioning.
They did not act arrogantly because of the other party's status.
The waiter's expression froze. He looked up at Gingerbread and his companions suspiciously and asked warily:
Why are you asking about this?
Wen Yuzhao slowly took out one hundred spirit stones and placed them on the table. "Naturally, it's for the Corpse Soul Pearl. If you give us some information, the spirit stones are yours."
There's really nothing that can't be said.
A whole host of demons, big and small, have arrived at the inn.
Who didn't come for the Corpse Soul Pearl?
"Hmm... let me think where to begin..." The deer demon tilted its head in recollection, "About three or four months ago, many cultivators died outside the tomb of Crown Prince Ronghua."
"These cultivators died in a terrible state; their bodies were bluish, and everyone guessed that they died from corpse poison."
"The Death Sect sent people to investigate. The cultivators who died outside the tomb were all in the late Golden Core stage. We guess it must have been the Corpse King who did it. How could an ordinary corpse man bite a Golden Core cultivator to death?"
Gingerbread: "Death Gate?"
"You don't even know about the Gate of Death?" The little deer demon's eyes widened even more as she asked in surprise.
Liu Zheng calmly said, "My younger sister is just a little sparrow that was born not long ago. She doesn't have these kinds of experiences. Why don't you enlighten my little sister, Brother Lu?"
"So that's how it is!" The deer demon sighed and spilled out everything in a torrent of words, "Those bastards, human cultivators and demon cultivators, said that the Eastern Continent could not have a master, and the demon cultivators were always a disorganized mess. Later, an organization called 'Death Gate' appeared."
"The people inside are all demon cultivators. They have to be involved in everything that happens in the Eastern Continent."
"At first, some demons were unconvinced, but they couldn't beat them, so they had no choice but to admit defeat."
"Moreover, those cultivators who died outside the Crown Prince's tomb deserved it. They probably wanted to steal the treasures from our Crown Prince Ronghua's tomb. Good riddance to the Corpse King! I wish I could raise more Corpse Kings to kill all the human and demonic cultivators!"
The deer demon became more and more excited as he spoke.
Wen Yuzhao interrupted, "Brother Little Deer, do you know where the Corpse King last appeared?"
"This... let me think about it..." The deer demon frowned and pondered for a while, then clapped his hands excitedly and said:
"Not long ago, several skeletons floated out of the Bloodthirsty Abyss outside Phoenix City."
Liu Zheng's expression was solemn. "Thank you."
Lu Xiaoer took the spirit stones, saying, "No need to thank me, please feel free to help me if I need anything!"
The door was closed again.
Wen Yuzhao posted a soundproof talisman.
He sat back down, his expression even more solemn than Liu Zheng's. "Why are there so many cultivators coming to the Eastern Continent?"
"It's for the great treasure in the prince's tomb, isn't it?" Gingerbread picked up a piece of hibiscus cake.
Driven by self-interest, otherwise who would come here to die for nothing?
"Then... what exactly is in the Crown Prince's tomb that would make so many Golden Core cultivators rush here to their deaths?" Wen Yuzhao tapped the table lightly with his finger bones, looking deep in thought.
Gingerbread thought to itself: Keep pretending, who knows better than you?
She worked as a doorman for a few days.
The time when Wen Yuzhao left the Sword Sect was exactly the time when the Corpse King appeared.
Fen Jue: "What does your second senior brother want to do?"
"I don't know, let me observe for a while longer." After replying to Fen Jue, Jiang Bingbing seriously started eating her meal.
Liu Zheng was filled with worry.
Wen Yuzhao was also full of worries.
Gingerbread devoured his food and let out a satisfied burp.
The two of them were suddenly pulled out of their reverie.
"I'll go back to my room first, you all should get some rest." Wen Yuzhao couldn't eat anymore, so he simply left first.
"Yes, I'll go to the Bloodlust Abyss tomorrow."
Liu Zheng saw Wen Yu out, set up a protective barrier on the door, and then returned to tell Jiang Bingbing to get some rest.
