Chapter 1 The Beginning of the Story "I really won't... hurt...

"Are you really not...scared?"

Golden hair fluttered in the wind, and a hazy halo appeared on the young man. I couldn't see his expression clearly, but I could only hear his gentle voice: "Of course I'm... scared, but... I have to do this."

"But I..."

"Don't worry." He gently stroked Mary's cheek, the warmth shining on her face like sunshine. "We are destined to meet again."

The sunlight poured in gently from the window, kissing the cheek of the woman in bed like a dream. Mary finally woke up from her dream. After a brief moment of confusion, she rubbed her head and started a new day.

Johnny wasn't home today, so she didn't have to waste time shopping for groceries or cooking. Mary had never had a strong appetite, so there was no point wasting precious time on this. After getting ready, she strolled leisurely down the street, pondering how to pass the time.

The weather was nice today, but for some reason, the acquaintances around her looked at her strangely.

Mary stood hesitantly in the middle of the road, wondering whether she should go back, when the friendly but somewhat noisy Mrs. Menasha walked towards her.

"Mrs. Melissa?"

"Mary! You have no idea what's going on!" The short woman grabbed her arm. Even though she tried to lower her voice, the panic in her expression gave people a sense of foreboding.

As expected by Mary

"Johnny...something happened?"

"Yes, hey... Although I know Johnny is a good kid... but he... hey." Mrs. Melissa looked at Mary with a frown. "He got into big trouble and is probably lying in a clinic now." She took Mary's hand. "You are a good girl. There is no need to waste your time on this person with such a bad reputation. If you are willing... I can help you find a decent job."

Knowing that the other party was doing it for her own good, Mary did not explicitly refuse, but just said: "I'd better find him first. Thank you for telling me this, Mrs. Melissa." She pushed away the other party's hands that were holding her, and rushed out without stopping for a moment, silently repeating Johnny's name in her heart, hoping that he was safe.

Meanwhile, Johnny finally struggled to wake up. He was in severe pain in his abdomen, and his head was dizzy and his mind was in a trance.

Where is this?

He subconsciously wanted to get up from the smelly bed, but suddenly found that he couldn't move at all.

His memory slowly returned, and Johnny suddenly remembered everything that had happened before.

He was out on a date with a girl he had known for less than three days. The girl wanted to see a movie, but there was a long line outside the cinema. If she followed the rules and entered in turn, her day would be wasted.

Johnny wasn't interested in movies, but he couldn't resist the girl's instigation. He arrogantly cut in line, not only refusing to apologize to the man he'd cut in line, but also verbally abusing him. In the end, he was shot in the spine by the man, and then... he ended up here.

A foul odor filled the air, and Johnny knew he was dirty and smelly. But even trying to clean himself was a luxury. His legs, without any feeling in them, clearly told him that he was a cripple and would never be able to stand up again.

Finished

It's all over

Amidst his collapse, Johnny felt a strange, almost imperceptible sense of relief. It was as if he had spent the first half of his life riding in a reinless carriage, careening wildly along. To outsiders, he seemed a participant, but only he knew he was merely a spectator.

When the carriage crashed into the south wall without hesitation, everything was ruined. But he was still alive. No one knew whether this was lucky or unfortunate, not even Johnny himself.

"Hello……"

Looking at the fat, dark nurse who was standing not far away with her back to him, smoking leisurely, Johnny burst into tears filled with humiliation: "Hey! Um...I...come and help me!"

The man turned his head away. Johnny had always felt that he was not a good person because he was so ugly. But the stench on him was unbearable, so he ignored his warning radar and continued to shout, "Help me clean up!"

"Hmph..." The man sneered twice and strode towards him. This fleshy nurse didn't possess the contrasting beauty of heart that Johnny had hoped for, but instead displayed a brutality that matched her appearance.

Johnny was no stranger to that disgusting, filthy look filled with desire and malice, but he had never imagined that such an absurd thing would happen to him.

The rough paper was rolled up and unceremoniously stuffed into his mouth. Johnny felt his teeth and gums ache from the rough action. The corners of his mouth, which had not had water for a long time, were torn by the newspaper, and his tongue tasted blood.

No!

No! ! !

Johnny frantically twisted his upper body, using his hands to block the other man's dirty, smelly hands. His mind was in a turmoil, and he felt that he was only one step away from madness, about to be forced into the abyss.

However... light...

It just came

The dull sound of bones breaking was not clear in the noisy and dark clinic, but Johnny heard it clearly.

The time around him seemed to slow down extremely much. Johnny could clearly see a pair of hands easily breaking the neck of the strong man in front of him, and then covering his mouth with great skill.

Behind the falling body is a very familiar face

"Mary?"

Johnny Joestar didn't know if he was crazy. Why, why did he see Mary here? This woman... why...

The back of his neck began to sweat, and Johnny realized that his maid had killed someone cleanly and efficiently, and naturally dragged the person into the dark and hid him.

Her steps were light and her expression nonchalant. In the near-blindness, she looked like a nurse in a dark clinic. Even though there were people watching her with their eyes open, they didn't notice anything was wrong.

Is that person...really Mary?

Johnny's mind was in a mess when another caregiver came over from a distance, yawning. Although he looked impatient, he unexpectedly helped Johnny clean up the dirt on his body, although it was not very clean.

As if it was planned, when the nurse left, Mary appeared silently in front of Johnny. Her pale face in the darkness was no less than a devil seeking death, but Johnny's shaky mind still told him that Mary helped him and was a good person.

He whispered, "You are...Mary...right?"

"Yes." She naturally removed the needle from his leg and dressed him in his bloodstained old clothes. After making sure nothing was missing, she carried him to a seemingly unstable wheelchair and placed him there. She quietly pushed him out. From the moment he was killed to the moment he was discharged, it took no more than five minutes.

Who… is she…? How could she kill someone so easily? Johnny was confused and confused, but for a moment he didn't dare to talk to Mary casually.

To be honest, Johnny didn't understand Mary, not at all.

Their story began three months ago.

Johnny, who became famous at a young age and lacked the upbringing and care of a normal family, quickly became a playboy, frequently featured in media reports. While sometimes the descriptions were exaggerated, they were generally accurate.

After becoming a sought-after horse racer, countless temptations unfolded before him. He began to get hungover and indulge himself, and every time he woke up with a splitting headache, he was consumed by loneliness and discomfort. His heart became empty, and he gradually disliked returning to his empty home.

Home was very boring, and he was the only one at home. If it weren't for the need to take care of his beloved horse himself, he would probably never bother to go back.

As a result, three months ago, when he opened his eyes and saw the ceiling of his room and the strange woman staring at him in front of the bed, he was almost scared to death.

"You! Who are you?" Johnny suppressed the urge to pull out a gun from the drawer and said to the woman he suspected of having a one-night stand with, "Forget it, no matter who you are, you can leave now." He skillfully took money from his trouser pocket. No one would be angry at him for this. If they were angry, it would only mean that he didn't give enough. "Here, these are for you."

The woman in front of him didn't take the money, nor did she look offended. She just looked at Johnny with a blank expression, which made him feel extremely uncomfortable. A subtle sense of shame and irritation spread in his heart. Young Johnny scratched his golden hair in annoyance. "Is it too little? I'll give you double. Is that okay?"

This time the other party took the money, and Johnny was surprised to find that the woman in front of him had no calluses on her hands, which looked particularly smooth and white.

These are the hands that only rich ladies can have.

Johnny's drowsy mind began to clear up, and he silently began to look at the woman in front of him.

She looked very young, with typical brown curly hair, but surprisingly, she had a pair of very rare silver-gray eyes, which made her look even more aloof than the average person. The material of her clothes was very ordinary, and there was no trendy style, which made Johnny doubt his initial judgment.

Why bother so much? It’s not the style he likes anyway.

Johnny curled his lips in his heart and was about to drive the woman away again, but he didn't expect her to finally speak: "I won't leave."

Having never met such a shameless person, nor had he ever encountered such a situation before, Johnny didn't know what to say for a moment. He stared blankly at the woman in front of him, who then said slowly, "Because this is what you asked of me, and I agreed, then I won't break the contract."

What the hell is this?!

Is this woman crazy? Johnny was racking his brain wondering how drunk he had been yesterday and how he had brought such a person home.

“Tsk…”

Clicking his tongue irritably, Johnny changed the subject: "What's your name?"

The other person's silver-gray eyes turned and he whispered, "Mary."

What a common name! If Johnny rushed to the window and shouted, "Mary!" he guaranteed that at least seven out of ten people would look up at him.

He had activities to attend today and didn't have time to spend with this strange woman. Johnny washed up and left in a hurry, but he didn't expect that after returning home, the woman would still stay in his house.

Unable to find the woman's family, and not bothered to care about Mary, who was as quiet as a plant, Johnny reluctantly agreed to the strange woman moving into his home.

Perhaps wanting to take care of him, Mary volunteered to take on the chores around the house. For three months, the neighbors, including Johnny, treated her like a maid. Even now, Johnny had no idea what kind of person Mary was.

Maybe... she was a killer hiding in his house, hiding from his enemies? Johnny thought silently in his wheelchair, but he didn't care now.

The excruciating pain from the gunshot wound hadn't subsided at all. He gritted his teeth and persevered, unwilling to make a fool of himself in the crowded street. That was when Mary wiped his cheek with a snow-white handkerchief. His nose swelled, his eyes burned uncontrollably, and tears rolled down his face, dripping onto his stained trousers.

"Thanks"

Johnny choked up and said

"Thank you, Mary."
