Chapter 35 Snow Leopard

Seeing that she was feeling a little depressed, her second uncle spoke to her to comfort her, "We still have roast chicken to eat now, which is much better than the days of exile before."

"Second uncle is right, I was wrong." After dinner, they began to assign the watch time. Tong Wen Yao was still young, so she would be on duty at the hour of Xu. When it came to the hour of Hai, it was her brother's turn to be on duty. Then, in the second half of the night, second uncle would start to watch.

The first half of the night was shared by the two of them, while the second half was guarded by the second uncle alone. However, since Guaiguai was still there, they could go to bed after the Yin hour.

Tong Wenyao didn't dare sleep in the big villa, so she sat by the fire, keeping watch all night. Her second uncle and brother were both asleep. It was her fault for not bringing any blankets.

She did have some in her space, but it was hard to take it out. It would be nice if there was something furry and warm. As she was thinking, she heard a noise outside the cave. She walked out carefully with the sickle in hand. In the darkness, several pairs of green hands were swaying. They climbed up her feet to her waist and then to her shoulders.

Just when she thought she had encountered a wolf, a few pairs of eyes moved in the darkness. She took out a flashlight from the space and quickly shone it, and found that it was the snow leopard that had been injured during the day, with its cub in its mouth.

The snow leopard first took a few steps forward, then began to whimper a few times, and Guaiguai also hissed at her shoulder. She knew that Guaiguai was communicating with the snow leopard, but she didn't know what they said specifically.

After a while, the snow leopard stopped making any sound, and she felt its eyes were filled with reluctance and parting. The little leopard was also very uncomfortable in its mouth, and it made a whimpering sound.

After waiting for a while, when even she felt cold, the snow leopard put the cub on the ground, pushed it towards her with its head a few times, and then walked away, looking back every three steps.

Seeing this, Guaiguai slid down from the leopard's body and crawled over to the little leopard, nodding at her. She hurried over and held the little leopard in her arms, but found that the little leopard's body temperature was abnormally hot, and even the breath from its nose was very hot. Could it be a fever? The cheetah had brought it here for treatment.

If it was just a guess, then she really guessed part of the truth. She took out the antipyretic medicine from the space, crushed it and fed it to the dog, then fed it some warm water. After taking care of it, she carried the little leopard into the cave.

I thought about the two snow leopards I saw during the day, one of which was injured. It was so cold, and it was outside looking for a cave with its little leopard. It might have been injured because it was frozen.

She held the little leopard and placed it next to the fire, stroking its back and trying to comfort it. The little leopard was only half a month old at the time, and its eyes were not fully open yet.

She thought about it and it seemed that she had bought clothes for Guaiguai in the space before. She took them out and put them on the little leopard, then held it in her arms again. The little leopard only had clothes on its body, and its feet did not have suitable clothes to keep them warm. But the conditions were not so good now, so she could only make do with it for the time being.

After the little snow leopard took the medicine and was in a warm environment, it began to find a comfortable position in her arms and closed its eyes to sleep. She gently rubbed its head to help it sleep. Guaiguai also lay in her arms, with its tail curled up on the little snow leopard's body and began to doze off.

"Go to sleep, dear. I'll be watching over you." Only then did it begin to relax and close its eyes.

The sound of her second uncle snoring could be heard in her ears. She took out a medical book from the space and read it. This book was bought in the lobby of the county's Chinese medicine store when she was buying ingredients for making spicy strips.

Five hundred coins a copy. She hadn't had time to read the medical books here before, so the herbs she picked were all ones she knew. Unconsciously, the time for the night watch had come. Seeing that her brother didn't sleep much, she continued to read, letting him sleep for a while before calling him. She estimated that it was after ten o'clock in the evening.

She continued reading for a while until Tong Wenyao was about to hit a rock and woke up.

"Yao'er, you didn't call me." She replied with a smile, "Yao'er, aren't you sleepy yet?" Seeing that she was holding a white cat in her arms, he couldn't help but frown and said, "Yao'er, where did the cat come from?"

She raised an eyebrow. Her brother thought it was a cat. She simply didn't explain.

"I found it on the road. I'll return it when I find its parents."

He nodded and began to urge her to go to bed. Tong Wen Yao did not insist. As a child, she was already sleepy, so she fell asleep quickly.

At daybreak, she was awakened by the cry of an unknown bird in the forest. The sound was like a baby's cry, shrill and terrifying. She looked up at her second uncle and saw that he had prepared some dry food to be heated up and eaten later.

She walked over quietly, handed him the buns in the package, and whispered, "Second Uncle, bake this." Second Uncle looked at the meat buns in her hand and smiled, "Oh, you are blessed today, you still have buns to eat."

At this time, Tong Wenyao woke up and saw that the cat's legs were shaking on the ground, as if it was afraid of the cold. He quickly reached out to hug it, but the kitten refused with a bared teeth. It was really strange. It wouldn't hug him when his sister wanted, but it would be very fierce when he wanted to hug it.

"You little thing, your kindness is not rewarded." After saying that, he quickly reached out and rubbed its head, then quickly pulled it back, fearing that it would scratch his hand.

"Brother, stop teasing it. It had a fever last night. Come and eat some buns. Let's leave early today."

"Okay," he said, his eyes still fixed on the snow leopard, clearly unable to let it go. He poured some water from the bamboo tube for him to wash his hands, then let him have some buns.

Tong Wenyao was innocent. He took a bite of the big meat bun and praised her before he even swallowed it. "This bun is as delicious as if it was freshly baked." He finished the bun in two or three bites. Tong Wenyao was not hungry yet. Seeing that he had finished eating, she broke the bun in half and handed it to him.

"Brother, you eat, I'm full."

After eating, she drank some hot water, and then her second uncle put out the fire and prepared to climb the mountain to look for snow lotus.

They were only a third of the way to the top, and they didn't know if there were any snow lotuses there. They were climbing the highest peak of Shennv Mountain, and Tong Wenyao saw many others climbing as well, some with fierce eyes. In contrast, Tong Wenyao's team was filled with the elderly, the weak, the sick, and the disabled, so they posed no threat to them.

It obediently crawled into Tong Wen Yao's sleeve and pointed the way up the mountain. The little leopard stuffed the package into the room in front of his second uncle and the others, but actually put it into the space.

She followed her second uncle with a crutch, and her brother followed behind her so that he could protect her if she encountered danger.

Today they were going to climb to the top of the highest mountain to search for snow lotus. When she asked the waiter in the town, he said that snow lotus was extremely rare and she didn't know if they could find it.
