Chapter 89 Making Egg Ginger Soup

In fact, at that time, Xin'er felt a little regretful, but before she could think about it, her elder sister's voice came. Without thinking too much, she hurriedly made Guo'er confess according to the original plan. Until her elder sister saw through their plan, she punished them to face the wall and reflect on their mistakes.

When they saw Guo'er following her sister into the house again, they were worried that Guo'er would steal her sister's attention, so they quietly went to the window and eavesdropped on the conversation inside.

Xin'er sniffed, looked up at her brother, and said, "Brother, let's not bully Guo'er from now on, okay?" Wen Jiang nodded after hearing this, "Guo'er had such a miserable life before, and only Sister Xing'er protected her. But we have brothers, sisters, mother, father, and aunt to protect us. We are much luckier than her. I will protect Guo'er in the future too."

After hearing this, Xin'er looked unhappy and said, "Brother, you can't be like this. We should be the ones protecting Guo'er." Wen Jiang touched Xin'er's soft hair and nodded, "Yeah."

After Tong Wen Yao applied ointment on Guo'er, she put clothes on her. The weather was cold now, and although there was a kang in the room, it was still a little cold, not to mention that children have weak resistance.

After opening the door, I asked them to come in and warm up under the quilt. I planned to go to the kitchen to make some ginger soup for them and drink some myself, otherwise I would always worry about catching a cold.

She took a piece of ginger from under the cabinet, peeled it with a dagger, and then washed it. When Xing'er saw this, she quickly asked, "Miss, let me cook it." Tong Wen Yao refused and asked her to light the fire and wash the pot. When she came back after cleaning, she could put the ginger in and stir-fry it.

The water in the backyard was a little cold. Tong Wen Yao quickly washed it and took it back to the kitchen. She thought that she was about to catch a cold and needed to drink some, so she peeled more ginger and later gave some to her second brother and second uncle to warm them up.

After returning, Xing'er also boiled the fire. Tong Wen Yao took a large spoonful of pork from the ceramic pot and put it in. After frying the solidified lard, Tong Wen Yao put the crushed ginger in to fry. After a while, the spicy smell spread from the pot, and even the air was filled with this spicy and pungent smell. Tong Wen Yao continued to stir-fry. When it was almost done, she put a few eggs in to fry. This method was taught to her by her grandmother in her previous life. It has a warming effect on dispelling cold. Even if you have menstrual pain, you can use this method to relieve it.

After the eggs were half-cooked, Tong Wenyao poured water into the pot and covered it with a wooden lid. After the water boiled, she added some salt and it was ready to drink. Xing'er was an expert at making fire and she kept the fire going very well. Soon, white steam bubbles came out of the pot. When Tong Wenyao opened it, she saw the egg foam spreading inside and a layer of white foam appeared on the surface. Tong Wenyao knew that the ginger soup was ready.

She filled a large clay pot and asked Xing'er to scoop out the remaining soup for the three little ones to drink. "Especially Xin'er. I just heard her sniffling. Let her drink more." After she and Xing'er each had a bowl, Tong Wenyao took the ginger soup to the vacant lot next door where a house was being built.

She hadn't looked closely before, and now the scene was in chaos. The lime had been delivered and covered with tarpaulin to prevent it from blistering. According to the drawings she had given her, several holes were dug in the foundation and cement was piled in them. When the time came, some raw bamboo would be added and then poured in with cement to make it more solid.

She carried the clay pot into the shed, where her second brother and second uncle were standing. There was also an older man standing beside her, his back to her, looking at the blueprints on the table and nodding his head. When Tong Wenyao arrived, she placed the pot on a chair and stood quietly by, waiting for them to discuss. Tong Bo saw Tong Wenyao come in from the corner of her eye, and her speech quickened. After about a quarter of an hour, she heard her second brother's voice, "Go down first and have them do what I say. If you have any questions, come and ask me."

After the uncle turned around, Tong Wen Yao recognized that this man was Wu Feng who built the kang last time. Seeing it was Tong Wen Yao, Wu Feng smiled and said, "Thanks to you, we will have a better time this year." Tong Wen Yao recently heard from the villagers that many people came to them to build kangs, but why did Wu Feng come to their house to work?

Confused, she waited until Wu Feng left and then asked, "Second brother, isn't Uncle Feng going to build a kang soon? How come they have time to help us build a house?"

Tong Hong laughed heartily after hearing this and said, "Yao'er, this is all thanks to you. They are indeed short of people to build the kang, but they heard that the Tong family is going to build a house soon, so they split into two groups. One group will come to our house to help build the house, and the other group will go to build the kang. Isn't it so that we can live in the new house before the New Year?"

Tong Bo nodded, "They're really thoughtful." Tong Wen Yao felt they were grateful. Tong Bo saw the clay pot Tong Wen Yao brought and asked, "Sister, what did you bring?" She looked at the pot on the chair and said, "Ginger soup. I thought it was cold, so I brought it to warm you up." Tong Hong smiled and said, "Yao'er is so thoughtful." He opened the pot, steam rising from it. He took a bowl and scooped out the soup with a wooden spoon. He poured a bowl and handed it to Tong Bo, then drank a bowl for himself.

Seeing that there was still so much inside, Tong Hong said, "Why don't we let those who are feeling cold outside have a sip too?" Tong Wenyao had no objection, so Tong Bo went out and said, "My sister saw that the weather was cold, so she specially made ginger soup and sent it over for everyone to warm up. Anyone who wants some can come over and have a spoonful." After hearing this, everyone present responded, "Okay!"

Some people didn't want to drink it. The ginger soup was so spicy that it made their throats choke and uncomfortable after just one sip. Besides, the soup wasn't that cold. Those who did see the eggs in the jar couldn't help but laugh. Who wouldn't put eggs in ginger soup? Everyone saved their eggs to buy at the market.

The Tong family, on the other hand, even put an egg in their ginger soup. Some people, after drinking the ginger soup, secretly thought, "This daughter of the Tong family doesn't know how to live. Whoever marries her in the future will ruin the family."

Those who didn't eat and came back after drinking said there were eggs to drink. Those who didn't go couldn't help but feel a little regretful that they didn't go to drink a bowl, but there was only so much in the earthenware jar, and it would be gone after drinking it.

After drinking, Tong Wen Yao took the clay pot back. It was much easier to go back than to come. The ginger soup in the clay pot was gone, so she could just carry it back with one hand.

In the evening, Second Aunt's spicy noodle workshop was off work. She looked happy when she came back. She didn't expect that the base material could be made in this way. She didn't know how Yaoer came up with this idea.
