Brown-red mountain group has many traps 5
The little demons were shouting, and Shi Yuluo and Canglun were in shock!
The two were so startled that they forgot to follow Xuan Ye and Huai Wen, standing frozen in place. By the time they came to their senses, Xuan Ye and Huai Wen had already vanished. They exchanged a glance, having no time to discuss it, and could only give chase.
Passing by the scattered wooden houses, the lights of the lanterns glowed, and from the mountaintop, the majestic Qinglan Palace was clearly visible. Four glass lamps stood upright on the ground for illumination, and wooden frames were erected along the outer wall of the Qinglan Palace, with carving tools placed on them.
Judging from the unfinished piece, the sculpture should depict Ce Mie himself.
As he got closer to Qinglan Palace, Ce Mie began to panic. He was both angry and worried, and shouted, "Let me tell you, don't think that just because you're coming to my palace, I'm afraid of you! My Qinglan Palace is indestructible!"
But Xuan Ye and Huai Wen wouldn't listen to him. Instead, they flew even faster. Ce Mie shouted again, "There's nothing in my Qinglan Palace! What the hell are you going to steal! If you like my calligraphy and paintings, I'll write down the poems I just used to insult you and give them to you! I said..."
Upon arriving at Qinglan Palace, Xuan Ye slammed on the brakes, causing Ce Mie, trapped in the fire cage, to stagger. Huai Wen glanced at the bronze statue of Ce Mie carved in relief at the entrance of Qinglan Palace and frowned. The sculpture's features were remarkably handsome, quite different from Ce Mie's.
"I'm giving you a chance now. Tell me everything you know," Xuan Ye said.
Ce Mie pouted and cursed behind his back, "Even if you kill me, I won't tell you."
Xuan Ye didn't press the matter further, and seemed to have lost patience. Before Ce Mie could turn around and speak, he set the bronze statue of Ce Mie on fire.
The raging fire did not spread; it simply melted away the bronze statue that had been destroyed.
This infuriated Ce Mie, who stomped his feet and spun around in the cage. Huai Wen watched from the side, and this seemed quite different from what she had imagined—to turn Ce Mie's lair upside down. Or perhaps, for demons, turning someone's lair upside down meant burning their home down...
However, the fire quickly subsided, and the bronze door wasn't destroyed. Huaiwen even discovered a new face amidst the slowly receding flames. She had initially thought Xuan Ye intended to destroy Ce Mie's bronze statue, but unexpectedly, he had instead burned into the likeness of Gui Mie Gui Che…
This left Huaiwen speechless... unable to comment.
Ce Mie collapsed and broke through his defenses, cursing Xuan Ye that he would suffer a terrible death in the future.
Xuan Ye was quite satisfied with his current work. He turned to look at Huai Wen and asked with a roguish yet slightly arrogant tone, "If you want, I can burn this place into the shape of your ears."
Huaiwen shook her head hurriedly, muttering, "No, no."
Xuan Ye was delighted. He gave a sweet hum and then said brightly, "Then it will become more fun."
"boom--"
The bronze gate, bearing the design of Demon Slayer, was opened, and a chilling wind swept in, sending shivers down one's spine. A beautiful yet eerily cold palace awaited; perhaps only he, Yao Ri Ce Mie, could find refuge there.
Xuan Ye led Ce Mie inside, and Huai Wen followed. Once inside the Qinglan Palace, Huai Wen's eyes were opened to a whole new world.
Beneath the high walls, eighteen bronze statues of demons stand tall, carved around the entire inner hall. These bronze statues are of various colors, some smiling and others fierce and menacing, all with calm expressions and lifelike features.
These bronze figures are not merely bronze figures; they are inlaid with gold and jewels plundered from various places by Ce Mie. This makes the bronze figures glow, and when placed under light, they reflect light and shadow.
Opposite the bronze statue is Cemie's throne. This throne was carved out of a large stone from Cemie's territory. It is said that a jade craftsman was captured to carve a landscape painting on his throne.
There was a tiger-skin cushion on the throne, and two tall lamps on either side for nighttime illumination. Next to it was a large stone table with some food on it. Passing the stone table, there was a side door leading to the inner rooms of the Ce Mie Palace.
Perhaps for warmth, the Qinglan Palace was filled with braziers, their glowing embers reflecting off the glass lamps hanging on the walls, illuminating the entire palace and preventing it from becoming dim.
Thus, it seems that although Ce Mie was not very talented in literature, the palace he built was breathtaking.
Xuan Ye pushed Ce Mie in front of the first bronze statue. This bronze statue depicted a drunken poet, seemingly speaking freely, with a red agate inlaid in his wine cup.
The flame burning in his palm calmed Ce Mie down a little.
Having witnessed Xuan Ye burn down the bronze statues at the entrance, Ce Mie was now somewhat more obedient. However, the resentment on his face remained. He tried to break free of the fire cage, but he couldn't escape no matter what he did.
Shi Yuluo and Cang Lun arrived just then.
They watched as Ce Mie went mad, pounding on the fire cage, and then looked at Xuan Ye, unable to help but tense up.
Shi Yulu asked Huaiwen what the situation was. Huaiwen hesitated for a few seconds and innocently replied, "I'm trying to find a way to calm him down."
The burning of the house brought people to their senses; this method truly silenced them. Shi Yuluo and Cang Lun, watching the crazed Ce Mie, suddenly sighed, "Yao Ri Ce Mie truly lives up to the reputation of being a major troublemaker among the gods."
After Ce Mie gave up struggling, Cang Lun stepped forward and said, "Stop fooling around. Just answer my questions."
"You thieves! You thieves!"
"Boom—" The fireball in Xuan Ye's hand suddenly burst into flames, and he waved it in front of Ce Mie.
"Who the hell are you! Stop the hell!" Ce Mie shouted and screamed, pacing around frantically as he watched helplessly as his decades of hard work were destroyed in an instant.
Xuan Ye yawned, his voice lazy: "I'm still thinking about what to change this bronze figure to."
Xuan Ye pretended to ponder for a moment, seemingly troubled by the upcoming bronze figure creation, then smiled sweetly and asked, "Huaiwen, what do you like?"
Before Huaiwen could react, Cemie had already started cursing: "Stop messing with my bronze statue! If you've got the guts, let me out! Let's fight one-on-one! What kind of skill is it to keep me locked in a cage? You stinking officials, shameless, breaking into people's homes and causing damage! I'll show you what kind of dogs you are!"
Shi Yulu coldly replied, "Then tell me, where is the True God of Fulin?"
Ce Mie spat, his face hardening; he didn't want to answer. Shi Yuluo's brows furrowed, then relaxed, forcing a cold smile: "If you don't want your bronze statue to turn to ash—"
Upon hearing this, Ce Mie stirred. His hard work could not be destroyed! Shi Yulu smiled, but her words revealed a fierce edge: "Tell me the truth."
Ce Mie rolled his eyes. He hated these arrogant and domineering officials the most. If it weren't for Xuan Ye, he could have taken down the other three by himself. Seeing that Ce Mie was still stubborn and silent, Shi Yuluo turned around and told Xuan Ye to quickly destroy the second bronze statue.
Ce Mie cursed her for being a bully who relied on others' power and influence.
Xuan Ye nodded in agreement, agreeing with Ce Mie's words, because he also disliked those priests.
Suppressing her anger, Shi Yulu tried to soften her expression as she asked Xuan Ye, "What? Don't you want to know where the True God of Fulin is?"
“I want to know where he is, and that’s not the same thing as hating you all,” Xuan Ye said, shrugging.
Shi Yulu frowned, and Cang Lun stepped in to smooth things over: "Sometimes I don't like priests either. After all, sometimes they can be heartless and ruthless."
Shi Yulu remained silent.
Huaiwen had a bad feeling. She didn't know what Shi Yuluo, Canglun, and Xuanye thought about the identity of a priest. She had no idea whether there had been any conflicts between them.
Seeing Shi Yuluo remain silent, Canglun sighed and said, "But the reason why priests are priests is that they still have their uses."
Xuan Ye shrugged, looking quite pleased with himself, as if the matter had nothing to do with him: "In that case, it's up to you to get the whereabouts of Fulin from him."
Upon hearing this, Ce Mie scoffed, "These few living priests are not even as old as me. I could strangle one of them with one hand. You try letting me out."
Shi Yulu sneered: "Want to try?"
Ce Mie sneered, "Oh, oh, oh, did I hit a nerve? Otherwise, why would you want to try fighting me? You're not worthy! I'm the number one demon king in the world! You're not even in the running if you want to fight me. Your little broken umbrella, you think you can touch my bronze statue? Bah!"
Cang Lun gritted his teeth: "What I heard was that you are the number one scoundrel in the world."
"Pah!" Ce Mie cursed again, and the entire Qinglan Palace echoed with his insults.
It must be said that Shi Yuluo and Canglun probably do not have the magical power of Xuan Ye, who can cut a mountain in half with a single stroke, break a barrier in an instant without making a sound, and modify a bronze statue without lifting a finger!
Now that things had come to this, Shi Yulu turned to Huaiwen and asked coldly, "What do you, a transvestite, have that can shut him up?"
Huaiwen thought for a moment and said, "I do have it, but I didn't bring it with me."
"Oh, then I have a way I can teach you." Shi Yulu stopped there. "Would you like to learn?"
Huaiwen asked what it was, filled with longing and curiosity.
Shi Yuluo produced a cherry blossom and tried to make it bloom, then set it ablaze. Huaiwen didn't understand and just stared blankly, asking Shi Yuluo what she was doing.
Looking at Huaiwen's every word and action, Shi Yulu sighed. How could Huaiwen be her? But if she wasn't her, why would a demon come to help this destitute place of humans and demons?
Could it be that this place for transvestites is so attractive to demons?
When Cang Lun saw the cherry blossom fire and turned to face Xuan Ye again, he no longer exclaimed in surprise. Cang Lun was very calm, but also very puzzled. He observed Xuan Ye, but he couldn't see any emotion on Xuan Ye's face or in his eyes.
Suddenly, a contemptuous yet sighing laugh echoed throughout the palace. The group looked over and saw Ce Mie laughing, mocking Shi Yuluo for being a fool and making a bunch of ugly things.
Shi Yulu's face darkened, and she changed her tone, saying, "Oh, you want to try this foxfire?"
"What do you mean?" Ce Mie asked. "You think you're something special, huh? My Green Orange Flame can annihilate you without leaving a trace!"
In a few words, Huaiwen showed doubt. It was strange for a priest to use foxfire. She turned to look at Xuan Ye and felt a sense of unease, but she didn't know where this feeling of unease came from.
"It's interesting that the priest uses foxfire. Why don't you try it yourself? Let me see what you've got." Xuan Ye smiled contemptuously, then said with amusement, "Or are you a demon, impersonating a priest?"
Shi Yuluo retorted angrily, "Nonsense! I am a divine official from the divine realm, how could I be a demon!"
"Is that so?" Xuan Ye scoffed.
"Isn't that right!" Shi Yulu retorted, barely suppressing her anger.
Xuan Ye raised an eyebrow and said casually, "If you say so, then so be it. Nobody here knows whether you are or not."
"What do you mean?" Shi Yulu straightened up and asked coldly.
Xuan Ye looked down at Shi Yuluo and Cang Lun, and suddenly said, "Then what do you think I mean?"
Seeing that the two were about to start fighting amongst themselves, Cang Lun quickly advised, "Don't go around in circles fighting your own people. We're here only to find out where Fu Lin is from this Ce Mie. Don't be misled by the enemy and accidentally hurt your comrades."
At Cang Lun's prompting glance, Huai Wen added, "Peace is paramount, but resolving the issue of annihilation is even more important."
Xuan Ye glanced at Shi Yulu with disdain, a half-smile on his face: "If the priest is so easily amused, how can he possibly stand all those wicked people in the world who speak such harsh words to him?"
"You don't need to worry about it!" Shi Yulu gritted her teeth.
But then he thought, if it were Lingshan Xuanye, how could he have endured the test just now? He might have already revealed his true form and wanted to destroy them. Moreover, if it were Lingshan Xuanye, why would he be so bored or so kind as to stay here with an ignorant little disciple?
It can only be said that this is the fate of these transvestites; there will always be one of them who is targeted by a demon!
Moonlight streamed through the bronze door, casting long, bluish shadows of the five figures. These shadows overlapped on the smooth ground.
A cold wind blew in incessantly, ruffling Huaiwen's hair once more. Moonlight shone on her, making her appear aloof, yet her eyes shone brightly as she looked at Xuan Ye, whose expression remained cold. She was pondering what she would do if Xuan Ye's identity were exposed.
Unconsciously, Huaiwen gathered a power in her fingertips. Her expression was serious, and she was about to speak when she heard Shi Yulu speak in a calm and powerful voice: "You wield the Dragon Sparrow Blade with such skill. May I ask who you are?"
Xuan Ye laughed loudly and asked, "Who do you want me to be?"
Shi Yuluo and Canglun looked unwell. Xuan Ye turned to look at Huaiwen and saw her worried expression. His face darkened, and he turned to tease her, saying, "The world is vast, and all living beings exist here. Who I am is none of your business."
"Go to hell—" Ce Mie thought he was going to get some juicy gossip, but instead got a stupid reply. He cursed, "Are you even a hero? You don't even dare to give your name. Are you afraid I'll settle the score with you? Come on, Grandpa will teach you a lesson in a minute—"
A cherry blossom fell from somewhere, just one, flashing before Ce Mie's eyes, and his arrogant demeanor was completely silenced.
